Kōfu
Kōfu (甲府市, Kōfu-shi) is the capital city of Yamanashi Prefecture in Japan.
As of November 1, 2015, the city had an estimated population of 193,127 and a population density of 909 persons per km2. The total area was 212.41 square kilometres (82.01 sq mi). Kōfu's name means "capital of Kai Province". During the Sengoku period, it was famous as the stronghold of Takeda Shingen.
Geography
Kōfu is located in north-central Yamanashi Prefecture, extending from the northern border of the prefecture with Nagano Prefecture, south until it almost reaches the southern border of the prefecture. It is narrow along its east-west axis. The city bisects the Kofu Basin, and is at an elevation of between 250 and 300 meters, surrounded by mountains on all sides. Much of the northern portion of the city is within the borders of the Chichibu-Tama-Kai National Park

On the 23rd of February 1975, winter was coming to an end in Japan, and the skies over Kofu city, Yamanashi prefecture, were calm and clear. Two young elementary-school students were one their way home from an evening outside, when they spotted something unusual in the sky that would change their lives forever. Kofu is the capital of Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan, about an hour and a half west of Tokyo. It is one of the famous cities in the country for its wine, famous even internationally because it has won many awards. The town of Kôfu lies in a deep valley surrounded by the Japanese Alps and the Oku-chichibu mountain range. One of the assets of the city is its proximity to Mount Fuji: the volcano and other peaks are visible from any point cleared or high in the city, which gives it an added cachet! Kofu is not really a tourist city, in any case few Western tourists stop there. During our visit we mostly saw Chinese tourists, but oddly we never met them outside the hotel. It is the father of the warrior who founded the city and the whole Takeda clan has ruled over the region since Kofu. The city celebrates its 500th anniversary in 2019. Several monuments in the city pay tribute to this famous family and we find the graves of the family in different places of the city.

This channel is where you can see a real daily life in Japan. Just as it is. I started this YouTube channel when I was traveling around the world in 2019. Kofu is the capital of Yamanashi Prefecture, Japan, about an hour and a half west of Tokyo. It is one of the famous cities in the country for its wine, famous even internationally because it has won many awards. The town of Kôfu lies in a deep valley surrounded by the Japanese Alps and the Oku-chichibu mountain range. One of the assets of the city is its proximity to Mount Fuji: the volcano and other peaks are visible from any point cleared or high in the city, which gives it an added cachet!
Kofu is not really a tourist city, in any case few Western tourists stop there. During our visit we mostly saw Chinese tourists, but oddly we never met them outside the hotel. Kofu is actually a good alternative to Mastumoto or other cities to make a stopover between Tokyo and Kyoto.
The story of Kofu is linked to that of the historical figure Takeda Shingen, the famous general of the sixteenth century who worked for the unification of Japan. It is the father of the warrior who founded the city and the whole Takeda clan has ruled over the region since Kofu. The city celebrates its 500th anniversary in 2019. Several monuments in the city pay tribute to this famous family and we find the graves of the family in different places of the city.

Kofu is a city in central Japan. In its center, Takeda Shrine sits on the site of a revered 16th-century general's former home. Nearby are the ruins of Kofu Castle.
The Yumura Onsen area is home to hot-spring spas. North, the Arakawa River runs through Shosenkyo Gorge, known for its vibrant autumn foliage. A trail leads to Sengataki Waterfall. A cable car runs up to Mount Rakanji, which offers views of Mount Fuji.

Kōfu
Kōfu (甲府市, Kōfu-shi) is the capital city of Yamanashi Prefecture in Japan.
As of November 1, 2015, the city had an estimated population of 193,127 and a population density of 909 persons per km2. The total area was 212.41 square kilometres (82.01 sq mi). Kōfu's name means "capital of Kai Province". During the Sengoku period, it was famous as the stronghold of Takeda Shingen.
Geography
Kōfu is located in north-central Yamanashi Prefecture, extending from the northern border of the prefecture with Nagano Prefecture, south until it almost reaches the southern border of the prefecture. It is narrow along its east-west axis. The city bisects the Kofu Basin, and is at an elevation of between 250 and 300 meters, surrounded by mountains on all sides. Much of the northern portion of the city is within the borders of the Chichibu-Tama-Kai National Park
