The Volkswagen VR6 engine has been used in the VW Golf GTI, Passat, Phaeton, Touareg, Beetle, and many of the golf generations, among others. The VR6 engine is a bit of combination of a "V" style engine and an inline engine, which is where the name "VR" is derived. This is a sound test and test drive of my MK1 VW Cabriolet with a AAA VR6 engine swap.
The engine is stock. The exhaust is a modified to fit OBX header, a Borla exhaust, and a 42 Draft intake.
For the first part of the video, I had my camera pointed at the engine, and a microphone taped to the bumper, just above the exhaust outlet.
The test drive of the MK VR6 is the camera on a tripod, and the mic near ground level. I totally didn't mean to bark the tires ;)

VR6 engine
Volkswagen's VR6 engines, and the later VR5 variants, are a family of internal combustion engines, characterised by a narrow-angle (10.5° or 15°) V engine configuration. Developed by the manufacturer in the late 1980s, evolutions of these engines are still produced by them.
When containing six cylinders, a VR-engine's cylinder block consists of two cylinder banks (left: 1-3-5; right: 2-4-6) while there is only a single cylinder head covering both rows of cylinders.
Description
The name VR6 comes from a combination of V engine (German: V-Motor), and the German word "Reihenmotor" (meaning "inline engine" or "straight engine") - and so is described as a "Vee-Inline engine" (VR-Motor). It shares a common cylinder head for the two offset banks of cylinders. It has a specific sound that is unique and different than either inline or "V" engines. The engine is currently in use in a variety of VW models, one such example is the Volkswagen Passat NMS.
This engine configuration was also adopted for the Horex VR6 Motorbike.

The VR6 engine is a bit of combination of a "V" style engine and an inline engine, which is where the name "VR" is derived. This video explains how the VR6 engine works including the layout, firing interval and order, cylinder head, intake and exhaust ports, valvetrain, as well as advantages and disadvantages.

This is a sound test and test drive of my MK1 VW Cabriolet with a AAA VR6 engine swap.
The engine is stock. The exhaust is a modified to fit OBX header, a Borla exhaust, and a 42 Draft intake.
For the first part of the video, I had my camera pointed at the engine, and a microphone taped to the bumper, just above the exhaust outlet.
The test drive of the MK VR6 is the camera on a tripod, and the mic near ground level. I totally didn't mean to bark the tires ;)

Instead, he will open up his fourth season in the NFL as a member of the Cleveland Browns, and he will have the chance to win the starting nod in training camp ... The CC received all manner of luxury upgrades, was powered by Volkswagen’s 3.6-litre VR6 engine and carried a luxury price tag befitting its perceived – or, at least, Volkswagen’s perceived – status as an entry-level luxury sedan ... For 2016, Volkswagen has delivered a refreshed Passat, and you would think there would be some sort of dramatic change. Instead, it seems as if Volkswagen has doubled down ... That said, the plain design is handsome and retains its Teutonic allure ... (Volkswagen) ... The priciest Passat comes equipped with the 3.6-liter VR6 mated to a six-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission that features steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters ... That’s a pity....
