Plot
When his daughter Rachel, a spunky girl who has overcome a lifelong history of serious brain lesions, is accepted at a top tech university, Dr. Ben Lehrer is anxious for her welfare, but proud of her tenacity and independence. However, when Rachel is unjustly accused by her roommate of threatening behavior, Rachel and Ben are plunged into a Kafkaesque nightmare of insane rules and unjust regulations more appropriate to a Stalinist state than a modern American university. Her well-meaning supporters at the school, of which there are many, are helpless to assist her, their hands tied by the insanely convoluted strictures of the Office of Integrity, a draconian institution where the rules of law and common sense do not apply. Intent upon changing the system, Rachel risks her reputation, her hard-won graduation and her entire future to ensure that no one else suffers the same abuses that she has endured.

A romantic liaison between Alexa and Steve is thwarted by local thugs and military police who are all after the meddlesome Roberts. Roberts discovers what he should not - that the supposed blood research is in fact the development of a 100% addictive drug "Blue Mist" - and that Charlie was in on the whole deal with the Russian Mob. Roberts and Alexa must find a way out: their only hope being some pretty quick thinking and the best martial arts to ever hit Bulgaria.

Plot
Airline hostess Ann Parker is fired for being undignified when she sang to calm the passengers during a storm. Mike Connors, publicity man for Frankie Carle's orchestra, invites her to try out as the band's vocalist since the regular singer, Mary Lou, had just quit the band on the eve of an engagement at a swanky New York night club. Encouraged by her boyfriend, Steve Roberts, Ann lands the job and assumes the name of "Mary Lou", a trademark almost for Frankie Carle singers. But the departed Mary Lou shows up and threatens to sue if she is not rehired. Ann returns to her former job. Meanwhile, Steve locates the woman who was the original Mary Lou with the band, and urges Mike to keep the current Mary Lou off the bandstand until he can return with Ann.
