Bridegroom Official Trailer 1 (2013) - Documentary HD
On May 7, 2011 a young man named Shane Bitney Crone tragically lost the love of his life, Tom, to an accident. Because they weren't married or prepared for the unexpected, Shane lost all legal claims to Tom after he died. Tom's family banned Shane from the funeral and he was unable to say goodbye. On May 7, 2012 Shane posted a video on YouTube, entitled "It Could Happen to You." He created it to honor his partner and show the world what can happen when two people are legally barred from having equal rights and equal protections under the law to marry. Shane's partner was named Tom Bridegroom. The video went viral, passing two million views within seven days.

This video was originally released on May 7, 2012, on the one year anniversary of my partner Tom Bridegroom's tragic death. It quickly went viral and led to the feature documentary film, BRIDEGROOM, which premiered at the Tribeca Film Festival in April 2013. The film went on to have its television premiere on the Oprah Winfrey Network and is now available on Netflix and iTunes. It has won multiple Audience Awards at film festivals and just recently was awarded the GLAAD New Media Award for Best Documentary.
But it all started with this video. I believe that by sharing our personal stories, we can change the world. May 7, 2014 marks the third anniversary of Tom's death and in his honor I ask that everyone uploads their own videos, photos, or written stories to social media to help inspire others. You may even save someone's life. Use the hashtag #TapTapTap to join the global conversation.

There are many words that one could use to describe our beloved Thomas Lee Bridegroom. When speaking of him, people consistently refer to him as one of the kindest, most vivacious people that they have ever known. Tom was indeed kind to every person that crossed his path, and he was indeed a genuine lover of life.
Tom was born and raised in Knox, Indiana, and attended the prestigious Culver Military Academy for high school, where he excelled academically, musically, and athletically. After graduating from CMA Cum Laude, Tom spent a year abroad in England as part of the English Speaking Union student exchange program before he enrolled in Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY. At Vassar, Tom trained in voice and piano and developed skills that continued to grow throughout his life.
Although successful in his academic career at Vassar, Tom made the decision to leave school early and pursue his true calling: a career in the entertainment industry. Tom's life in LA flourished with success, starting with his debut as the "Boy Next Door" in Teen People to founding successful business ventures including "iMusic Daily" and Bridegroom and Bitney Public Relations.
For most of us that knew Tom, we also knew Tom as Shane's caring and loving life partner. The two of them were almost always together, embarking on travel adventures and career endeavors together, inspiring and guiding each other in all of their ambitions. Their relationship was a blessing, to the two of them and to everyone who had the great privilege of knowing them.
Tom lived as we all should -- shamelessly, laughing loudly, smiling largely, extending his talents and time to his friends, believing in himself, and always loving. Tom once described himself as "a small town boy with both feet firmly planted on the ground." The only thing small about Tom was that town he came from in Indiana.. For all that knew Tom, you know how truly blessed you were to have the honor of his incredible friendship, and there is no doubt that he was truly an exceptional soul.

A bridegroom (usually shortened to groom) is a man who is about to be married, or who has just been married.
A groom is typically attended by a best man and groomsmen.
The style of the groom's clothing depends upon the time of day, the location of the ceremony, the style in which the ceremony is performed, and whether the groom is a member of the armed forces. In most parts of the world, active-duty members of the military and some law enforcement agencies wear their military uniforms instead of civilian clothing.
Western traditions usually have the groom wearing a suit of an appropriate level of formality to the occasion and the time of day. In the US, the groom usually wears a dark-coloured suit (daytime) or tuxedo (evening) during the wedding ceremony. British tradition requires groom, male ushers and close male family to wear morning suits. In Scotland, a full evening suit is customarily worn for evening ceremonies, often comprising a kilt.
The groom usually wears neckwear that fits the attire he is wearing. Most grooms will wear a bowtie to match their tuxedo or suit as this is the most formal neckwear in the series. A cravat is usually more flamboyant and less formal and is worn with morning suits. The four in hand tie is also becoming more common due to the easily obtainable variety.

Plot: The time is 1991. The location is Sydney. The event is AC/DC's Razor Edge Tour. And in the thick of the mosh pit are five boys: Sonny, Ben, Lloyd, Sam and Ronnie, having a pearler of a time. When the concert concludes, the boys head on up to the VIP room...and are promptly thrown out. They then proceed out the back alleyway and by sheer chance, owing to a poster of former AC/DC member Bon Scott, the boys escape a near-death experience. Thinking Bon is sending them a message, they sign a contract which says the first to die will be buried by the other four next to Bon in Fremantle Cemetery. Twelve years on, the boys have gone their separate ways. Sonny is a stay-at-home without a job, Sam has been passed between several jobs, Lloyd is into unsavoury activities involving drugs, Ben is a supermarket worker, and Ronnie - perhaps the only successful one - is a jingle creator. Pity his wife Molly is divorcing him but she's only interested in herself and her music. Some of the boys keep in touch, others don't. Sonny and Lloyd have been more reclusive than the others. But abruptly, a bolt of lightning - an ironic shadow of the last song they heard at the concert - changes everything. One of them ends up as a few ashes inside an urn and a Chinese food container, and the other four are thrown into the mix together to get the ashes to the other side of the country. Along the way they deal with creepy petrol station owners, irate disabled people, the epitome of Aussie bogans, and each other, in a bizarre road trip film that will leave you in stitches

There are many words that one could use to describe our beloved Thomas Lee Bridegroom. When speaking of him, people consistently refer to him as one of the kindest, most vivacious people that they have ever known. Tom was indeed kind to every person that crossed his path, and he was indeed a genuine lover of life.
Tom was born and raised in Knox, Indiana, and attended the prestigious Culver Military Academy for high school, where he excelled academically, musically, and athletically. After graduating from CMA Cum Laude, Tom spent a year abroad in England as part of the English Speaking Union student exchange program before he enrolled in Vassar College in Poughkeepsie, NY. At Vassar, Tom trained in voice and piano and developed skills that continued to grow throughout his life.
Although successful in his academic career at Vassar, Tom made the decision to leave school early and pursue his true calling: a career in the entertainment industry. Tom's life in LA flourished with success, starting with his debut as the "Boy Next Door" in Teen People to founding successful business ventures including "iMusic Daily" and Bridegroom and Bitney Public Relations.
For most of us that knew Tom, we also knew Tom as Shane's caring and loving life partner. The two of them were almost always together, embarking on travel adventures and career endeavors together, inspiring and guiding each other in all of their ambitions. Their relationship was a blessing, to the two of them and to everyone who had the great privilege of knowing them.
Tom lived as we all should -- shamelessly, laughing loudly, smiling largely, extending his talents and time to his friends, believing in himself, and always loving. Tom once described himself as "a small town boy with both feet firmly planted on the ground." The only thing small about Tom was that town he came from in Indiana.. For all that knew Tom, you know how truly blessed you were to have the honor of his incredible friendship, and there is no doubt that he was truly an exceptional soul.

A little over two years ago, I lost one of my best friends in a tragic and sudden accident. His name was Tom Bridegroom. It was one of the most heart breaking times in my life to this day. I still cannot believe he is gone.
I am dedicating this song I wrote, entitled "Beautiful Boy" to Tom and all of those who have lost someone close to them.
I am so humbled and honored that Tom's partner of six years and one of my best friends, Shane Bitney Crone, put my song "Beautiful Boy" in his award winning documentary "Bridegroom".

A little over two years ago, I lost one of my best friends in a tragic and sudden accident. His name was Tom Bridegroom. It was one of the most heart breaking times in my life to this day. I still cannot believe he is gone.
I am dedicating this song I wrote, entitled "Beautiful Boy" to Tom and all of those who have lost someone close to them.
I am so humbled and honored that Tom's partner of six years and one of my best friends, Shane Bitney Crone, put my song "Beautiful Boy" in his award winning documentary "Bridegroom".
About Bridegroom:
On May 7th, 2011 Shane tragically lost the love of his life, Tom, to an accident. Because they weren't married or prepared for the unexpected, Shane lost all legal claim to Tom after he died. Tom's family banned Shane from the funeral and he was unable to say goodbye. On May 7th, 2012 Shane posted a video on YouTube, entitled "It Could Happen to You." He created it to honor his partner and show the world what can happen when two people are legally barred from having equal rights and equal protections under the law to marry.
