A navy paratrooper was stretchered off the Sydney Cricket Ground on Saturday after a pre-match display went terribly wrong.
About half a dozen Royal Australian Navy Red Berets descended on the ground about half an hour before play was scheduled to begin in the Anzac weekend match between the Sydney Swans and West Coast Eagles.

Parachute mishap at AFL match
The ANZAC Day Swans game has been marred by a 'hard landing' by one of the parachutists performing aerial displays prior to the match. Warning: distressing images.
All landed safely except one who fell heavily after losing control in the final stages of the jump and remained motionless until help arrived.
Another Red Beret motioned for medical assistance after being the first to come to the injured officer's aid.
After about 15 minutes of medical attention, the paratrooper was lifted onto a medicab and driven off the ground surface as the crowd applauded. He was taken to hospital with a suspected broken pelvis.
