Our host, a Syrian Kurdish frontline commander, hopes the RAF will soon join the fight here.
ITV News Senior International Correspondent John Irvine has been with Kurdish YPG forces in Syria as they continue their fight against the militants.
“It would be great because Daesh (Islamic State) is the enemy of all civilised people.”
We were talking as one of his men took the controls of a digger to bury the bodies of twelve IS fighters killed earlier in the day.
The Islamists had used the cover of early morning fog to mount a sneak attack on the Kurds furthest flung outpost, just thirty miles short of Raqqa.
But a look-out spotted them in the mist and all of them were shot dead. Two were wearing suicide vests. Most appeared to be teenagers.
We’ve been with Syrian Kurdish fighters, known as the YPG, for several days.
Downing Street says there are 70,000 “moderate fighters” willing to take on IS. The reality is that only the Kurdish YPG are engaged in an all-out war with the Islamists.
The Kurdish forces include women fighters.
The YPG is the polar opposite of IS. Instead of enslaving women, the Kurds empower them. They are secular people who believe in a free society.
If the RAF does soon start bombing IS targets in Syria it will be helping people who admire us and hurting people who hate us.

SARGODHA, PAKISTAN — At least one would-be suicide bomber met his end earlier than planned when he accidentally set off his IED during an argument with another man on Saturday.
Both men died in the blast.
The two suspects were chatting on a street near the city’s Khayyam Chowk area, witnesses reported. Their conversation turned into a scuffle. At least one of them was wearing a vest armed with an IED, the Express Tribune cited police as saying, and the explosive went off.
No one else in the crowded area was injured. Bomb units cleared the area, and the two bodies were taken to Sargodha’s District Headquarters Hospital.
Twitter users posted several graphic images of the aftermath online. The photos show two men — one slumped in his chair and another in a heap on the ground.
Local news station 92 released CCTV footage of crowds running to investigate the smoke that followed the explosion.
Police identified the men as Ghulam Rasul and Muhammad Sultan, raided their homes and arrested several suspects.

KIRKUK, IRAQ — A 15-year-old boy wearing a suicide belt was captured by police in Iraq before he could carry out his deadly mission for ISIS.
The skinny kid was arrested by members of the Kurdish security forces in the northern city of Kirkuk on Sunday, CNN reported.
The boy was stopped just hours after three people were injured in an ISIS suicide blast nearby.
Members of local security forces defused the belt, which was packed with 2 kilograms of explosives, and there were no further injuries.
The governor of Kirkuk said the boy was sent to the city by ISIS, according to CNN.
Reports said the boy told police he was kidnapped by masked men who put the explosives on him and sent him to the area. The boy had earlier fled the city of Mosul, which is under ISIS control.
The incident is raising fears that ISIS is increasingly using children to carry out attacks. This new tactic comes after recent successes by Kurdish Peshmerga forces, who are fighting against the terrorist group.
The attempted attack came a day after a suicide bomber killed 54 people at a wedding in Turkey. Ankara blamed that attack on ISIS but has backtracked on its claims that a teenage boy was responsible for the blast.

JAKARTA, INDONESIA — A video posted on Twitter shows the moment when one of the attackers in Jakarta accidentally killed himself.
Another video posted on Twitter shows someone lying on the ground while frightened people in the street run for safety.
Multiple explosions and a gunfight terrorized people in the city in Thursday. Seven were killed, five of whom were the attackers themselves. During the assault, at least 20 more people were wounded.
According to Reuters, the relatively low death toll following the attacks could be due to the fact that they were carried by local militants whose weapons were rudimentary.
The coordinated explosions, however, echoed the series of terrorist attacks that took place in Paris on November 13.

There has been an explosion in the Saudi Arabian city of Medina.
Local media say a suicide bomber detonated his device near the Prophet's Mosque,... one of the holiest sites in Islam.
The explosion happened as security officers were breaking their Ramadan fast.
Saudi television showed pictures of a fire in a car park with at least one body nearby.
Some reports say four people were killed.
There's been no comment from the Saudi authorities about the incident.
Two other suicide attacks were also reported on Monday,... but neither of them killed anyone apart from the bombers.
No group has claimed responsibility for the attacks,... but Saudi Arabia has been targeted by the Islamic State militant group over the past couple of years.

Newly released security video shows the moment a Taliban suicide bomber entered police headquarters in the Afghan capital, Kabul intent on killing the chief of police on November 9.
The video shows the bearded bomber dressed in an ordinary grey suit, carrying an unremarkable blue folder and calmly taking the stairs to the third floor.
The assassin asked for directions to the chief of the police’s office, claiming he had something to discuss. He is understood to have hidden an explosive vest under his jacket.
Incredibly, not one of the police officers he passed was suspicious, and he was directed to the correct room.
As it happened, the police chief was not in his office that day. Nevertheless, the bomber detonated his vest immediately after opening the door. The blast killed one man and wounded six others.
The target, police General Zahir Zahir, suspects the bomber was aided by an infiltrator who made it possible for him to slip past heavily fortified police checkpoints.
General Zahir resigned in late November following a number of similar attacks.

ADEN, YEMEN — Sometimes justice comes fast; explosively fast in this case. A video posted to the website Liveleak appears to show the aftermath of a suicide bomber whose explosive belt detonated as he was still riding a motorcycle, presumably on the way to a target.
The video is said to be from the city of Aden in Yemen and the bomber was reportedly affiliated with the Islamic State terrorist group. The suicide belt explosion resulted in the bomber being literally being blown in half, with everything below his waist completely severed from the rest of his body.
The gruesome video shows the bomber alive for a short time after the detonation and he is even able to mumble a few unintelligible words. A crowd that gathers around the man quite reasonably does nothing to assist him, and subtitles in the video translate the words spoken by onlookers as "he's certainly not gonna survive this," or words to that effect.
Yemen has been descending into chaos for quite some time now with the internationally recognized government ousted by rebels, resulting in yet another civil war in this war-weary nation. Terrorist groups including ISIS and al Qaeda have both gained footholds in this nation that looks set to become a failed state.
Despite the war and destruction however, it must've been reasonably satisfying for many in Aden to see a savage suicide bomber inflict the kind of horror on himself that he had in mind for innocent people.

Suicide attack
A suicide attack is a violent attack in which the attacker expects to die in the process. Suicide attacks have occurred throughout history, often as part of a military campaign such as the Japanese Kamikaze pilots of World War II, and more recently as part of terrorist campaigns, such as September 11 attacks.
While there were few if any successful suicide attacks anywhere in the world from the end of World War II until 1980, between 1981 and June 2015, a total of 4,620 suicide attacks occurred in over 40 countries, killing over 45,000 people. During this time the global rate of such attacks grew from an average of three a year in the 1980s, to about one a month in the 1990s, to almost one a week from 2001 to 2003, to approximately one a day from 2003 to 2015. Suicide attacks tend to be more deadly and destructive than other terror attacks because they give their perpetrators the ability to conceal weapons, make last-minute adjustments, and because they dispense with the need for remote or delayed detonation, escape plans or rescue teams. They constituted only 4% of all terrorist attacks around the world over one period (between 1981 and 2006), but caused 32% of all terrorism-related deaths (14,599). Ninety per cent of those attacks occurred in Iraq, Israel, the Palestinian territories, Afghanistan, Pakistan, and Sri Lanka. Overall, as of mid-2015 about three-fourths of all suicide attacks occurred in just three countries: Iraq, Afghanistan and Pakistan.

Newly released security video shows the moment a Taliban suicide bomber entered police headquarters in the Afghan capital, Kabul intent on killing the chief of police on November 9. The video shows the bearded bomber dressed in an ordinary grey suit, carrying an unremarkable blue folder and calmly taking the stairs to the third floor. The assassin asked for directions to the chief of the police’s office, claiming he had something to discuss. He is understood to have hidden an explosive vest under his jacket. Incredibly, not one of the police officers he passed was suspicious, and he was directed to the correct room. As it happened, the police chief was not in his office that day. Nevertheless, the bomber detonated his vest immediately after opening the door. The blast killed one man and wounded six others. The target, police General Zahir Zahir, suspects the bomber was aided by an infiltrator who made it possible for him to slip past heavily fortified police checkpoints. ADEN, YEMEN — Sometimes justice comes fast; explosively fast in this case. A video posted to the website Liveleak appears to show the aftermath of a suicide bomber whose explosive belt detonated as he was still riding a motorcycle, presumably on the way to a target. The video is said to be from the city of Aden in Yemen and the bomber was reportedly affiliated with the Islamic State terrorist group. The suicide belt explosion resulted in the bomber being literally being blown in half, with everything below his waist completely severed from the rest of his body. The gruesome video shows the bomber alive for a short time after the detonation and he is even able to mumble a few unintelligible words. A crowd that gathers around the man quite reasonably does nothing to assist him, and subtitles in the video translate the words spoken by onlookers as "he's certainly not gonna survive this," or words to that effect. Yemen has been descending into chaos for quite some time now with the internationally recognized government ousted by rebels, resulting in yet another civil war in this war-weary nation. Terrorist groups including ISIS and al Qaeda have both gained footholds in this nation that looks set to become a failed state. ITV News Senior International Correspondent John Irvine has been with Kurdish YPG forces in Syria as they continue their fight against the militants.

We’ve been with Syrian Kurdish fighters, known as the YPG, for several days.
Downing Street says there are 70,000 “moderate fighters” willing to take on IS. The reality is that only the Kurdish YPG are engaged in an all-out war with the Islamists.
The Kurdish forces include women fighters.
The YPG is the polar opposite of IS. Instead of enslaving women, the Kurds empower them. They are secular people who believe in a free society.
If the RAF does soon start bombing IS targets in Syria it will be helping people who admire us and hurting people who hate us.

KIRKUK, IRAQ — A 15-year-old boy wearing a suicide belt was captured by police in Iraq before he could carry out his deadly mission for ISIS.
The skinny kid was arrested by members of the Kurdish security forces in the northern city of Kirkuk on Sunday, CNN reported.
The boy was stopped just hours after three people were injured in an ISIS suicide blast nearby.
Members of local security forces defused the belt, which was packed with 2 kilograms of explosives, and there were no further injuries.
The governor of Kirkuk said the boy was sent to the city by ISIS, according to CNN.
Reports said the boy told police he was kidnapped by masked men who put the explosives on him and sent him to the area. The boy had earlier fled the city of Mosul, which is under ISIS control.
The incident is raising fears that ISIS is increasingly using children to carry out attacks. This new tactic comes after recent successes by Kurdish Peshmerga forces, who are fighting against the terrorist group.
The attempted attack came a day after a suicide bomber killed 54 people at a wedding in Turkey. Ankara blamed that attack on ISIS but has backtracked on its claims that a teenage boy was responsible for the blast.

JAKARTA, INDONESIA — A video posted on Twitter shows the moment when one of the attackers in Jakarta accidentally killed himself.
Another video posted on Twitter shows someone lying on the ground while frightened people in the street run for safety.
Multiple explosions and a gunfight terrorized people in the city in Thursday. Seven were killed, five of whom were the attackers themselves. During the assault, at least 20 more people were wounded.
According to Reuters, the relatively low death toll following the attacks could be due to the fact that they were carried by local militants whose weapons were rudimentary.
The coordinated explosions, however, echoed the series of terrorist attacks that took place in Paris on November 13.

Newly released security video shows the moment a Taliban suicide bomber entered police headquarters in the Afghan capital, Kabul intent on killing the chief of police on November 9.
The video shows the bearded bomber dressed in an ordinary grey suit, carrying an unremarkable blue folder and calmly taking the stairs to the third floor.
The assassin asked for directions to the chief of the police’s office, claiming he had something to discuss. He is understood to have hidden an explosive vest under his jacket.
Incredibly, not one of the police officers he passed was suspicious, and he was directed to the correct room.
As it happened, the police chief was not in his office that day. Nevertheless, the bomber detonated his vest immediately after opening the door. The blast killed one man and wounded six others.
The target, police General Zahir Zahir, suspects the bomber was aided by an infiltrator who made it possible for him to slip past heavily fortified police checkpoints.
General Zahir resigned in late November following a number of similar attacks.

ADEN, YEMEN — Sometimes justice comes fast; explosively fast in this case. A video posted to the website Liveleak appears to show the aftermath of a suicide bomber whose explosive belt detonated as he was still riding a motorcycle, presumably on the way to a target.
The video is said to be from the city of Aden in Yemen and the bomber was reportedly affiliated with the Islamic State terrorist group. The suicide belt explosion resulted in the bomber being literally being blown in half, with everything below his waist completely severed from the rest of his body.
The gruesome video shows the bomber alive for a short time after the detonation and he is even able to mumble a few unintelligible words. A crowd that gathers around the man quite reasonably does nothing to assist him, and subtitles in the video translate the words spoken by onlookers as "he's certainly not gonna survive this," or words to that effect.
Yemen has been descending into chaos for quite some time now with the internationally recognized government ousted by rebels, resulting in yet another civil war in this war-weary nation. Terrorist groups including ISIS and al Qaeda have both gained footholds in this nation that looks set to become a failed state.
Despite the war and destruction however, it must've been reasonably satisfying for many in Aden to see a savage suicide bomber inflict the kind of horror on himself that he had in mind for innocent people.

"Intelligence is the most important thing because it feeds the military and the government." He claims they have Palestinian spies in the senior leadership of every Palestinian faction. Rare pictures from the security service's own website show agents working undercover, immersing themselves in Palestinian communities. However, there is widespread criticism of their recruitment methods. "Israel pressure Palestinians to collaborate, both in torture and interrrogations," comments Jessica Montell, of human rights group B'Tselem.

"The Taliban are good. The Taliban are building our country", a young boy tells the camera, head on. This is Afghanistan's terrorist generation. "It was one of these vests. They told me to blow myself up at a checkpoint". 10-year-old Neaz was offered 50 Afghanis (60p) for his young life. He was seized by the Taliban after the death of his family and prized for this special mission. As well as suicide mission preparations, their crimes include the laying of improvised explosive devices and ambush.
From the unrepentant to the lucky ones who got away, the willing and the reluctant, Taliban Child Fighters documents the experiences of captured child fighters. With unprecedented access, in and out of jails, it provides a unique perspective on an ongoing conflict, raising key questions about the legacy of western intervention in Afghanistan.

David Whitmore is currently the Senior Clinical Advisor for the Medical Director, London Ambulance Service NHS Trust. He also worked as Head of Education and Development for the West Country Ambulance Services NHS Trust from 2000 to 2002.
Whitmore joined the London Ambulance Service (LAS) in 1980 and became "Extended Trained" (forerunner to "paramedic") in 1986. He has wide-ranging operational experience, which sadly covers many terrorist incidents, rail disasters, major fires and civil disturbances. This experience has been tempered by significant developments in the ambulance profession and having had the privilege of being a part of some of those developments.
In January 2000, Whitmore was nominated by the Ambulance Service Association as a member the first Paramedic Board for the Council for Professions Supplementary to Medicine (CPSM). He also fulfilled the post of Chairman of the Registration Committee of the Paramedic Board. When the CPSM was replaced by the Health Professions Council (HPC) in 2002, he carried on as an HPC Partner in the roles of Visitor, Registrant Assessor and Investigating Panel. Whitmore was also appointed by the Privy Council as Alternate Member of Council for the HPC for 2004/5. Currently, he is an HPC Partner fulfilling the duties of Registrant Assessor, Visitor and Fitness to Practice. As a member of the British Paramedic Association (BPA), he chaired the group that produced the BPA's first Curriculum Framework for the Ambulance Profession from initial recruitment right through to paramedic consultant.
Whitmore is a Faculty Board Member of the Faculty of Pre-Hospital Care, Royal College of Surgeons Edinburgh. He is an Examiner for Diploma in Immediate Medical Care offered by the Royal College of Surgeons of Edinburgh. Whitmore is a member of the Department of Health, Care Pathways Working Group for the End of Life Care Programme.

"You see this bullet-hole? Look: theres another here, and another one there." Mohammed points to the numerous impacts puncturing his truck. "One day a car bomb exploded in a parking lot. The military warned us there could be another but we still went." Ideal targets, fire fighters like Mohammed face constant danger. With sectarian violence reaching new heights, Sunni and Shiite alike are forced to hide their true identity, which makes the job even riskier. "They will tell from my name that I am a Sunni", Assam chips in nervously. The phone rings. Thirty suicide bombers are in circulation. Sixty people already dead. Mohammed rushes to the scene but the chaos slows him down. Powerless to prevent the violence, the fire fighters of Baghdad can only pick up the pieces.
