Behind the Music is a television series on VH1. It originally ran from 1997 to 2006, before it was stopped and only aired new episodes sporadically. The series places its generality on documentation of musical artists or groups who are interviewed and profiled, and discuss how their careers became successful and what hardships they undertook. The show was re-aired on September 10, 2009, documenting profiles of T.I., Lil Wayne, Jennifer Hudson, Fantasia Barrino, Eve, 50 Cent, and Pink. As of March 15, 2012 the new remastered version of 'Behind The Music' airs weekly and features a new version of Aaliyah's 'Behind The Music', as well as Brandy, Busta Rhymes, Akon, T-Pain, The Notorious B.I.G., The Game, Pitbull and more. [1]
Each show focuses on a musician or musical group, documenting both the successes of the musicians and the problems they faced during their careers. Except for the first two episodes (which focused on Milli Vanilli and M.C. Hammer), all programs are narrated by Jim Forbes. Forbes was later used to narrate the Milli Vanilli episode when it was modified to include the death of Rob Pilatus. The UK airings of the episodes focusing on Thin Lizzy and Genesis were narrated by Mary Anne Hobbs while Forbes narrated the US airings.

As one of the world's best-selling music artists, Michael has sold more than 100 million records worldwide as of 2010. His 1987 debut solo album, Faith, has sold more than 20 million copies worldwide and made several records and achievements in the United States. Kimberly Denise Jones (born July 11, 1975), better known by her stage name Lil' Kim, is an American rapper and actress who was a member of the group Junior M.A.F.I.A..
Jones was born and raised in Brooklyn, living much of her adolescent life on the streets after being expelled from home. As a teenager, Kim would rap for fun, being heavily influenced by other female MCs like MC Lyte and Lady of Rage. When word got to The Notorious B.I.G. that she could rhyme, he made Jones perform a freestyle for him on the spot. Impressed with her, he took her in and she began her music career in 1995 with the group Junior M.A.F.I.A., whose debut album Conspiracy generated three hit singles. In late 1996, her solo debut album Hard Core was released. Hard Core was certified double platinum and spawned three consecutive #1 rap hits that included: "No Time" "Not Tonight (Ladies Night remix)" and "Crush on You", a record for a female rapper. Her following albums, The Notorious K.I.M. (2000) and La Bella Mafia (2003), both were certified platinum by the RIAA, making Kim the only female rapper besides Missy Elliott to have at least 3 platinum albums so far. Kim solidified her star power in 2001, when "Lady Marmalade", a song Kim was featured on, went to #1 on the Billboard Hot 100. That made her the second female rapper to earn a #1 on that chart.

It's time to take control again and be the only one
It's time to take control again and be the only one
'Cause I just wanna play with myself and I don't need anyone else
Rising with the sons of madness crossin' over the road
It's time to take control again and be the only one
It's time to sell your soul again and be the holy one
'Cause I just wanna finish this race and I don't wanna lose my face
Looking for a new direction crossin' over the road
So welcome to the other side
Don't be afraid to testify, it's not too late to get you high
Reaching for somebody in your image world
Waiting for a sign of a change crossin' over the road
It's time to take control again and be the only one
It's time to play your role again and be the holy one
'Cause I don't think that anyone knows
So welcome to the other side
Don't be afraid to crucify, it's not too late to free your mind
Reaching for somebody in your image world
Waiting for some kind of a change crossin' over the road
It's time to take control again and be the only one
It's time to sell your soul again and be the holy one
It's time to rise above again and be the only one
'Cause I don't think that anyone cares
So welcome to the other side
Don't be afraid to testify, it's not too late to get you high
Reaching for somebody in your image world
Waiting for a sign of a change crossin' over the road
Reaching for somebody in your image world
Waiting for some kind of a change crossin' over the road
