Welcome to Washington Institute of Dermatologic Laser Surgery. I established the practice in 1990 as the first independent laser center in the world. My vision was to create a modern, state-of-the-art facility that combined the best clinical practice with the latest treatment innovations. It has always been important that I and the other physicians on my team deliver the latest technologic advances to our patients and lead the industry with our expertise and innovative treatment protocols. With increasing demand for cosmetic dermatologic procedures, W Chevy Chase was conceived to provide an additional convenient location for our expanding patient base. Our physicians and staff bring a wealth of experience to support our commitment to providing the highest level of care to our patients in this location. Our physicians have published over 450 scientific papers and textbooks and are on the medical faculties at Georgetown, George Washington and Johns Hopkins Universities. We have helped to develop specialized laser and other cosmetic techniques, including trials that helped secure FDA approval for technologies and products like Botox, Restylane, Fraxel, Thermage, CoolSculpting, and Ulthera. Our treatment are used by physicians worldwide and are considered standard in the industry. I was honored to join the Washington Institute of Dermatologic Laser Surgery two years ago after running the Johns Hopkins Cosmetic center for nine year because there are only a handful of practices like this one in the country. Dr. Tina Alster who founded the practice 20 yrs ago has been a mentor of mine for many years and a trailblazer in the field of cosmetic dermatology. Even university medical centers do not have the depth and breadth of technology that we have here. We are the doctors doing the research studies that end up determining patient treatment protocols. We are lecturing and training the next generation of dermatologist and plastic surgeons. We sit at the table on our national professional committees to make sure patients have a voice and are being cared for properly. This means that we are the most well trained and have the best technology to treat our patients.
