Wadi Hanifa (Arabic: وادي حنيفة) is a wadi or valley in the Nejd region in central Saudi Arabia. The valley runs for a length of 120 km (75 mi) from north to south, cutting through the city of Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. The valley takes its name from the ancient Arab tribe of Banu Hanifa, who were the principal tribe in the area at the dawn of Islam, though in those days the valley was better known as al-Irdh (Arabic: العرض). A string of towns and villages lie along the valley, including Uyaynah, Jubaila, Irqah, Diriyah, and Ha'ir.
In pre-historic times, rain fell heavily in the region. This is reflected in the local folk tradition that claims that during the reign of the ancient kingdom of al-Yamamah, the area was once covered with oases and fertile farmland. God became angry and visited a plague of locusts and drought that the land never recovered from. Modern climate studies would likely show that the local catastrophe was actually the effect of global climate changes. Ongoing and future changes could bring higher precipitation levels back to the region.
Temperatures in summer reach an average of 42.9 °C (109.2 °F), and precipitation averages only 60 millimetres (2.4 in) per year in the driest places. Rain falls with great intensity for short periods, causing flash floods. The nature of the dry, warm climate leads to a high percentage of the scarce rainfall being instantly evaporated. That which remains mostly ends up as groundwater. While abundant, the levels of the water table are being tested by the rapid growth the city of Riyadh has seen in the past fifty years, from a population of 150,000 in 1960 to an estimated 5 million today.
While the wadi has traditionally been dry except for during times of flooding, the construction of Riyadh's first large sewage treatment facility in 1982 has channeled 400,000-650,000 cubic meters of runoff downstream daily, creating a constantly expanding area of small lakes south of Riyadh. A new green corridor nearly 100 kilometers long has been formed. The Saudi government and the Ar-Riyad Development Authority appointed Buro Happold and Moriyama & Teshima architects [1] to plan the preservation of the wetlands of the Wadi Hanifa, as they had become a popular destination for recreational activities such as fishing and picnicking and have also become a stop for migratory birds. The government has invested over $100 million (US) into an environmental rehabilitation project. This includes the construction of dams to regulate water flow, new limits on land use such as the banning of such commercial activities as quarrying and the planting of reeds to further purify the treated and untreated sewage. The completed project won the 2010 Aga Khan Award for Architecture [2]
The increase in surface water has led to widespread date palm cultivation along the banks of the wadi. The treated water is given free of charge from the government to farmers which has led to much higher yields. More importantly for the economy, the government uses much of the water to run one of the largest oil refineries in the country. The city of Riyadh also pumps a portion back into the city to irrigate its public gardens and parks.

Shaykh Yasin Qadhi Leaves The Salafi Movement & The Evil Cult of Najd
According to two narrations in Sahih Bukhari, Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu 'Alaihi Wasallam) asks Allah to bless the areas of Sham [disambiguation needed] and Yemen. When his companions said "Our Najd as well," He (Sallallaahu 'Alaihi Wasallam) replied:
"There will appear earthquakes and afflictions, and from there will come out the side of the head (e.g. horns) of Satan."
In a similar narration, Muhammad (Sallallaahu 'Alaihi Wasallam) again asked Allah to bless the areas Medina, Makkah, Sham, and Yemen and, when asked specifically to bless Najd, repeated similar comments about there being earthquakes, trials, tribulations, and the horns of Satan.
"O Allaah bestow your blessings on our Shaam. O Allaah bestow your blessings on our Yemen." The people said, "O Messenger of Allaah, and our Najd." I think the third time the Prophet, (Sallallaahu 'Alaihi Wasallam), said,
"There (in Najd) will occur earthquakes, trials and tribulations, and from their appears the Horn of Satan."
"A people that recite Qur'an will come out of the East (East of Arabia, Riyad), but it will not go past their throats. They will pass through the religion (of Islam) like the arrow passes through its quarry. They will no more come back to the religion than the arrow will come back to its course. Their sign is that they shave (their heads)."
"At the end of times a man will come out of Musaylima's country and he will change the religion of Islam."
Note: Most of the Khawarij were from the Najd area, from the tribes of Banu Hanifa, Banu Tamim, and Wa'il. Musaylima was from the Banu Hanifa, and Ibn `Abd al-Wahhab is from Tamim.
It is reported in Mishkat from Hazrat Abu Said Khudri (RA) who narrates that,
Once we were in the presence and company of Prophet (Sallallaahu 'Alaihi Wasallam). He was distributing booties (Spoils of War) when a person named Zul-Khawaisara, who was from the tribe of Banu Tamim addressed the Prophet (Sallallaahu 'Alaihi Wasallam) 'Oh Muhammad Be Just!'.
The Prophet (Sallallaahu 'Alaihi Wasallam) replied:
'A Great pity that you have doubts; if I am unjust then who will be just; you are a loser and a failure'.
Zul-Khawaisara's attitude infuriated Hazrat Umar (RA) and he pleaded with the Prophet (Sallallaahu 'Alaihi Wasallam) to permit him to slay Zul-Khawaisara.
The Prophet (Sallallaahu 'Alaihi Wasallam) remarked:
'Leave him, as his slaying will serve no good purpose, as he is not the only individual but there are a host of others like him and if you compare their prayers and fasting to that of yours, you yourself will feel ashamed. These are the people who will recite the Quran but it will not go beyond their throats, with all these apparent virtues they will leave the fold of Deen just like the arrow leaves the bow."

A person with eyes protruding, with a long beard and head clean-shaven came to the Prophet (SAWS) and declared:
'O Muhammad! (Sallallaahu 'Alaihi Wasallam) fear Allah.'
The Prophet (Sallallaahu 'Alaihi Wasallam) replied:
'If I disobey Allah (WST), then who else will obey Him? I am obedient to Allah (SWT) at all times and never disobedient. Allah (SWT) has sent me as Amin (Honest for the entire world, but you don't accept me as an honest man?'
A Sahabi (Companion) became infuriated and sought permission to remove him from the presence of the Prophet (Sallallaahu 'Alaihi Wasallam) .The Prophet (Sallallaahu 'Alaihi Wasallam) prevented the Sahabi from doing so. After the person had left, the Prophet (Sallallaahu 'Alaihi Wasallam) said:
'From his progeny (descendants) will rise a Group who will recite the Holy Quran but it will not go below their throats. They will leave the Deen (Islam) just as an arrow leaves the bowstring. They will kill Muslims but spare the idolaters. If I ever confronted these people I would slaughter them just as the people of Aad had been destroyed'.

Historians have mentioned that Ibn Abdul Wahhab belonged to Banu Tamim tribe. The House of Sauds belonged to Banu Hanifah tribe. All historians have mentioned that the place of birth of Ibn Abdul Wahhab is Dariya, in Najd. These are photo finish facts confirming nature of Wahhabi movement. It has been asserted that this hadeeth is relating the coming events that shook the Muslim nation, these known as Fitnah or 'trials'. The trials that arose in Riyadh. The tribe that was in Riyadh at the time was It has also been identified as where the Dajjal or Antichrist is said to emerge from (according to a narration through Imam Nawawi [disambiguation needed]).
There have also been various conspiracy theories instigated against the people of the modern day region of Saudi Arabia known as 'Najd' however historically and geographically there is no substantial proof to support these arguments as well as the suggested argument contrasting with a number of sound Hadith when objectively studied.

Musaylimah's name was Ibn Habib al-Hanifi, which indicates that he was the son of Habib, of the tribe Banu Hanifa He was one of a series of men who claimed to be a prophet around the same time as Muhammad (Peace Be Upon Him). He is viewed as a false prophet by traditional accounts, and frequently referred to by the epithet "the Liar" (Arabic: الكذّاب al-Kaḏḏāb).

The first of the thirty Dajjals was Musaylimah Al-Kadhdhab from the tribe of Banu Hanifa who claimed to be a Prophet whilst the Prophet (ṣallallāhu ‘alayhi wa sallam) was alive!

In this video, Shaykh Dr. Yasir Qadhi discusses 2 main stories:
1) Incidents around the lands of Fadak, where the wives of the Prophet (s) and daughter Fatima (r) wanted to inherit the property of Fadak, but Abu Bakr (r) refused.
2) The wars of the Ridda: A series of expeditions that Abu Bakr (r) sent out to those who turned their backs on Islam.
Fadak:
-Recall, the people of Fadak had told the Prophet (s) that if you don't attack us, we will give you 50% of our lands.
-Allah had allowed the Prophet (s) to benefit the Ummah with it
-The wives of the Prophet (s) raised the issue of inheritance first, and then later Fatima (r), sending Uthman Ibn Affan as a messenger to Abu Bakr (r)
-Abu Bakr told the wives and then also Fatima (r) that this is sadaqah (charity) and cannot be given to the family of the Prophet (s), fearing that he could not change what the Prophet (s) had commanded.
-One narration states: Fatima (r) never again spoke to Abu Bakr (r) until she died
-Another narration has Abu Bakr (r) resolving the tension between each other by telling Fatima at her death bed: "By Allah, I have not done all that I have and given all my money, all of it, except for the sake of Allah, the Messenger of Allah and for the sake of the family of the Messenger of Allah"
-The two of them never boycotted each other
-Note, Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman nor Ali (r) gave Fadak to the wives or Fatima (r) during their khilafa, showing this to be the right decision and that it was not a personal conflict.
-All wives and household of the Prophet (s) were given stipends until their death from the wealth of the Ummah, started by Abu Bakr (r)
-Fabricated story by a small strand of Shi'a says: Abu Bakr (r) forced Umar to go bring Ali (r) to give bayyah, where they barged in, Fatima (r) was injured and lost her pregnancy, Ali (r) was chained, etc.
Ridda:
-Many new tribes had accepted Islam for the wrong reasons and eman had not settled in their hearts
-There were 3 types of people:
a) Those who went back to paganism (jaheliyah). They re-introduced idolatry.
b) New phenomenon of false prophets. Groups claimed to be Muslims, and even prayed, but believed in or claimed to follow new prophets.
c) Those who wanted to stop giving Zakat.
False prophets: From Banu Hanifa, Musaylima claimed prophethood. He once told the Prophet (s) "I will only believe in you if you make me a prophet alongside you."
Sajjah bint Al Haarith from banu Tamim also claimed to be a woman prophet. She gathered 40k strong army and initially threatened Musaylima, but he plotted to impress her and the two agreed to get married in order to unite their forces. His mahr (gift) was to cancel Fajr and Isha prayers for her.
Khalid bin Walid, became famous for his actions during the wars of Ridda.
Wahshi, who had killed the Prophet's uncle Hamza and wanted to make up for it, made intention to and eventually was able to kill Musaylima using the same javelin.
Sajjah eventually fled to Iraq and when the Muslims reached her, she had already repented openly and lived the rest of her life as an ascetic worshiper.

Banu Hanifa (Arabic: بنو حنيفة) were an ancient Arab tribe inhabiting the area of al-Yamama in the central region of modern-day Saudi Arabia. The tribe belonged to the great Rabi'ah branch of North Arabian tribes, which also included 'Anizzah, Abd al-Qays, Bakr, and Taghlib. Though counted by the classical Arab genealogists as a Christian branch of Bani Bakr, they led an independent existence prior to Islam.
The tribe's members appear to have been mostly sedentary farmers at the dawn of Islam, living in small settlements along the wadis of eastern Nejd (known back then as al-Yamama), particularly the valley of Al-'Irdh, which later came to bear their name (see Wadi Hanifa). Sources such as Yaqut's 13th century encyclopedia credit them with the founding of the towns of Hadjr (the predecessor of today's Riyadh) and Manfuha, and being responsible for the granaries of Al-Kharj. According to legend, the tribe had moved to al-Yamamah from the Hejaz after the region's original inhabitants, the legendary people of Tasm and Jadis were decimated by war.

Abu Bakr (Abdullah ibn Abi Quhafa) (Arabic: عبد الله بن أبي قحافة, Transliteration: ʿAbd Allāh ibn Abī Quḥāfah, c. 573 CE - 634 CE) also known as Abū Bakr as-Șiddīq (Arabic: أبو بكر الصديق) was a senior companion (Sahabi) and the father-in-law of the Islamic prophet Muhammad. He ruled over the Rashidun Caliphate from 632–634 CE when he became the first Muslim Caliph following Muhammad's death. As Caliph, Abu Bakr succeeded to the political and administrative functions previously exercised by Muhammad, since the religious function and authority of prophethood ended with Muhammad's death according to Islam. He was called Al-Siddiq (The Truthful) and was known by that title among later generations of Muslims.
As a young man, Abu Bakr became a cloth merchant and he traveled extensively in Arabia and neighboring lands in the Middle East, through which he gained both wealth and experience. He eventually came to be recognized as the chief of his clan. On his return from a business trip to Yemen, he was informed that in his absence Muhammad had openly declared his prophethood. Not long after, Abu Bakr accepted Islam and was the first person outside the family of Muhammad to openly become a Muslim. He was instrumental in the conversion of many people to the Islamic faith and early in 623, Abu Bakr's daughter Aisha was married to Muhammad, strengthening the ties between the two men.

The valley runs for a length of 120 km (75 mi) from north to south, cutting through the city of Riyadh, which is the capital of Saudi Arabia. The valley takes its name from the ancient Arab tribe of Banu Hanifa, who were the main tribe in the area at the dawn of Islam, though in those days the valley was known as al-Irdh. A string of towns and villages lie along the valley, including Uyaynah, Jubaila, Irqah, Diriyah, and Ha'ir. In pre-historic times, rain fell heavily in the region. This is reflected in the local folk tradition that claims that during the reign of the ancient kingdom of al-Yamamah, the area was once covered with oases and fertile farmland. God became angry and visited a plague of locusts and drought that the land never recovered from. Modern climate studies would likely show that the local catastrophe was actually the effect of global climate changes. Ongoing and future changes could bring higher precipitation levels back to the region. Temperatures in summer reach an average of 42.9 °C (109.2 °F), and precipitation averages only 60 millimetres (2.4 in) per year in the driest places. Rain falls with great intensity for short periods, causing flash floods. The nature of the dry, warm climate leads to a high percentage of the scarce rainfall being instantly evaporated. That which remains mostly ends up as groundwater. While abundant, the levels of the water table are being tested by the rapid growth the city of Riyadh has seen in the past fifty years, from a population of 150,000 in 1960 to an estimated 5 million today. While the wadi has traditionally been dry except for during times of flooding, the construction of Riyadh's first large sewage treatment facility in 1982 has channeled 400,000-650,000 cubic meters of runoff downstream daily, creating a constantly expanding area of small lakes south of Riyadh. A new green corridor nearly 100 kilometers long has been formed. The Saudi government and the Ar-Riyad Development Authority appointed Buro Happold and Moriyama & Teshima architects [1] to plan the preservation of the wetlands of the Wadi Hanifa, as they had become a popular destination for recreational activities such as fishing and picnicking and have also become a stop for migratory birds. The government has invested over $100 million (US) into an environmental rehabilitation project. This includes the construction of dams to regulate water flow, new limits on land use such as the banning of such commercial activities as quarrying and the planting of reeds to further purify the treated and untreated sewage. The completed project won the 2010 Aga Khan Award for Architecture [2] The increase in surface water has led to widespread date palm cultivation along the banks of the wadi. The treated water is given free of charge from the government to farmers which has led to much higher yields. More importantly for the economy, the government uses much of the water to run one of the largest oil refineries in the country. The city of Riyadh also pumps a portion back into the city to irrigate its public gardens and parks. -

Shaykh Yasin Qadhi Leaves The Salafi Movement & The Evil Cult of Najd According to two narrations in Sahih Bukhari, Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu 'Alaihi Wasallam) asks Allah to bless the areas of Sham [disambiguation needed] and Yemen. When his companions said "Our Najd as well," He (Sallallaahu 'Alaihi Wasallam) replied: "There will appear earthquakes and afflictions, and from there will come out the side of the head (e.g. horns) of Satan." In a similar narration, Muhammad (Sallallaahu 'Alaihi Wasallam) again asked Allah to bless the areas Medina, Makkah, Sham, and Yemen and, when asked specifically to bless Najd, repeated similar comments about there being earthquakes, trials, tribulations, and the horns of Satan. "O Allaah bestow your blessings on our Shaam. O Allaah bestow your blessings on our Yemen." The people said, "O Messenger of Allaah, and our Najd." I think the third time the Prophet, (Sallallaahu 'Alaihi Wasallam), said, "There (in Najd) will occur earthquakes, trials and tribulations, and from their appears the Horn of Satan." "A people that recite Qur'an will come out of the East (East of Arabia, Riyad), but it will not go past their throats. They will pass through the religion (of Islam) like the arrow passes through its quarry. They will no more come back to the religion than the arrow will come back to its course. Their sign is that they shave (their heads)." "At the end of times a man will come out of Musaylima's country and he will change the religion of Islam." Note: Most of the Khawarij were from the Najd area, from the tribes of Banu Hanifa, Banu Tamim, and Wa'il. Musaylima was from the Banu Hanifa, and Ibn `Abd al-Wahhab is from Tamim. It is reported in Mishkat from Hazrat Abu Said Khudri (RA) who narrates that, Once we were in the presence and company of Prophet (Sallallaahu 'Alaihi Wasallam). He was distributing booties (Spoils of War) when a person named Zul-Khawaisara, who was from the tribe of Banu Tamim addressed the Prophet (Sallallaahu 'Alaihi Wasallam) 'Oh Muhammad Be Just!'. The Prophet (Sallallaahu 'Alaihi Wasallam) replied: 'A Great pity that you have doubts; if I am unjust then who will be just; you are a loser and a failure'. Zul-Khawaisara's attitude infuriated Hazrat Umar (RA) and he pleaded with the Prophet (Sallallaahu 'Alaihi Wasallam) to permit him to slay Zul-Khawaisara. The Prophet (Sallallaahu 'Alaihi Wasallam) remarked: 'Leave him, as his slaying will serve no good purpose, as he is not the only individual but there are a host of others like him and if you compare their prayers and fasting to that of yours, you yourself will feel ashamed. These are the people who will recite the Quran but it will not go beyond their throats, with all these apparent virtues they will leave the fold of Deen just like the arrow leaves the bow." (Miskhat, P. 535) A person with eyes protruding, with a long beard and head clean-shaven came to the Prophet (SAWS) and declared: 'O Muhammad! (Sallallaahu 'Alaihi Wasallam) fear Allah.' The Prophet (Sallallaahu 'Alaihi Wasallam) replied: 'If I disobey Allah (WST), then who else will obey Him? I am obedient to Allah (SWT) at all times and never disobedient. Allah (SWT) has sent me as Amin (Honest for the entire world, but you don't accept me as an honest man?' A Sahabi (Companion) became infuriated and sought permission to remove him from the presence of the Prophet (Sallallaahu 'Alaihi Wasallam) .The Prophet (Sallallaahu 'Alaihi Wasallam) prevented the Sahabi from doing so. After the person had left, the Prophet (Sallallaahu 'Alaihi Wasallam) said: 'From his progeny (descendants) will rise a Group who will recite the Holy Quran but it will not go below their throats. They will leave the Deen (Islam) just as an arrow leaves the bowstring. They will kill Muslims but spare the idolaters. If I ever confronted these people I would slaughter them just as the people of Aad had been destroyed'. (Mishkat, pp/535) Historians have mentioned that Ibn Abdul Wahhab belonged to Banu Tamim tribe. The House of Sauds belonged to Banu Hanifah tribe. All historians have mentioned that the place of birth of Ibn Abdul Wahhab is Dariya, in Najd. These are photo finish facts confirming nature of Wahhabi movement. It has been asserted that this hadeeth is relating the coming events that shook the Muslim nation, these known as Fitnah or 'trials'. The trials that arose in Riyadh. The tribe that was in Riyadh at the time was It has also been identified as where the Dajjal or Antichrist is said to emerge from (according to a narration through Imam Nawawi [disambiguation needed]). There have also been various conspiracy theories instigated against the people of the modern day region of Saudi Arabia known as 'Najd' however historically and geographically there is no substantial proof to support these arguments as well as the suggested argument contrasting with a number of sound Hadith when objectively studied. -

Fadak: -Recall, the people of Fadak had told the Prophet (s) that if you don't attack us, we will give you 50% of our lands. -Allah had allowed the Prophet (s) to benefit the Ummah with it -The wives of the Prophet (s) raised the issue of inheritance first, and then later Fatima (r), sending Uthman Ibn Affan as a messenger to Abu Bakr (r) -Abu Bakr told the wives and then also Fatima (r) that this is sadaqah (charity) and cannot be given to the family of the Prophet (s), fearing that he could not change what the Prophet (s) had commanded. -One narration states: Fatima (r) never again spoke to Abu Bakr (r) until she died -Another narration has Abu Bakr (r) resolving the tension between each other by telling Fatima at her death bed: "By Allah, I have not done all that I have and given all my money, all of it, except for the sake of Allah, the Messenger of Allah and for the sake of the family of the Messenger of Allah" -The two of them never boycotted each other -Note, Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman nor Ali (r) gave Fadak to the wives or Fatima (r) during their khilafa, showing this to be the right decision and that it was not a personal conflict. -All wives and household of the Prophet (s) were given stipends until their death from the wealth of the Ummah, started by Abu Bakr (r) -Fabricated story by a small strand of Shi'a says: Abu Bakr (r) forced Umar to go bring Ali (r) to give bayyah, where they barged in, Fatima (r) was injured and lost her pregnancy, Ali (r) was chained, etc. Ridda: -Many new tribes had accepted Islam for the wrong reasons and eman had not settled in their hearts -There were 3 types of people: a) Those who went back to paganism (jaheliyah). They re-introduced idolatry. b) New phenomenon of false prophets. Groups claimed to be Muslims, and even prayed, but believed in or claimed to follow new prophets. c) Those who wanted to stop giving Zakat. False prophets: From Banu Hanifa, Musaylima claimed prophethood. He once told the Prophet (s) "I will only believe in you if you make me a prophet alongside you." Sajjah bint Al Haarith from banu Tamim also claimed to be a woman prophet. She gathered 40k strong army and initially threatened Musaylima, but he plotted to impress her and the two agreed to get married in order to unite their forces. His mahr (gift) was to cancel Fajr and Isha prayers for her. Khalid bin Walid, became famous for his actions during the wars of Ridda. Wahshi, who had killed the Prophet's uncle Hamza and wanted to make up for it, made intention to and eventually was able to kill Musaylima using the same javelin. Sajjah eventually fled to Iraq and when the Muslims reached her, she had already repented openly and lived the rest of her life as an ascetic worshiper. The valley runs for a length of 120 km (75 mi) from north to south, cutting through the city of Riyadh, the capital of Saudi Arabia. The valley takes its name from the ancient Arab tribe of Banu Hanifa, who were the principal tribe in the area at the dawn of Islam, though in those days the valley was better known as al-Irdh (Arabic: العرض). A string of towns and villages lie along the valley, including Uyaynah, Jubaila, Irqah, Diriyah, and Ha'ir.
In pre-historic times, rain fell heavily in the region. This is reflected in the local folk tradition that claims that during the reign of the ancient kingdom of al-Yamamah, the area was once covered with oases and fertile farmland. God became angry and visited a plague of locusts and drought that the land never recovered from. Modern climate studies would likely show that the local catastrophe was actually the effect of global climate changes. Ongoing and future changes could bring higher precipitation levels back to the region.
Temperatures in summer reach an average of 42.9 °C (109.2 °F), and precipitation averages only 60 millimetres (2.4 in) per year in the driest places. Rain falls with great intensity for short periods, causing flash floods. The nature of the dry, warm climate leads to a high percentage of the scarce rainfall being instantly evaporated. That which remains mostly ends up as groundwater. While abundant, the levels of the water table are being tested by the rapid growth the city of Riyadh has seen in the past fifty years, from a population of 150,000 in 1960 to an estimated 5 million today.
While the wadi has traditionally been dry except for during times of flooding, the construction of Riyadh's first large sewage treatment facility in 1982 has channeled 400,000-650,000 cubic meters of runoff downstream daily, creating a constantly expanding area of small lakes south of Riyadh. A new green corridor nearly 100 kilometers long has been formed. The Saudi government and the Ar-Riyad Development Authority appointed Buro Happold and Moriyama & Teshima architects [1] to plan the preservation of the wetlands of the Wadi Hanifa, as they had become a popular destination for recreational activities such as fishing and picnicking and have also become a stop for migratory birds. The government has invested over $100 million (US) into an environmental rehabilitation project. This includes the construction of dams to regulate water flow, new limits on land use such as the banning of such commercial activities as quarrying and the planting of reeds to further purify the treated and untreated sewage. The completed project won the 2010 Aga Khan Award for Architecture [2]
The increase in surface water has led to widespread date palm cultivation along the banks of the wadi. The treated water is given free of charge from the government to farmers which has led to much higher yields. More importantly for the economy, the government uses much of the water to run one of the largest oil refineries in the country. The city of Riyadh also pumps a portion back into the city to irrigate its public gardens and parks.

The government has invested over $100 million (US) into an environmental rehabilitation project. This includes the construction of dams to regulate water flow, new limits on land use such as the banning of such commercial activities as quarrying and the planting of reeds to further purify the treated and untreated sewage. The completed project won the 2010 Aga Khan Award for Architecture [2]

Shaykh Yasin Qadhi Leaves The Salafi Movement & The Evil Cult of Najd
According to two narrations in Sahih Bukhari, Prophet Muhammad (Sallallaahu 'Alaihi Wasallam) asks Allah to bless the areas of Sham [disambiguation needed] and Yemen. When his companions said "Our Najd as well," He (Sallallaahu 'Alaihi Wasallam) replied:
"There will appear earthquakes and afflictions, and from there will come out the side of the head (e.g. horns) of Satan."
In a similar narration, Muhammad (Sallallaahu 'Alaihi Wasallam) again asked Allah to bless the areas Medina, Makkah, Sham, and Yemen and, when asked specifically to bless Najd, repeated similar comments about there being earthquakes, trials, tribulations, and the horns of Satan.
"O Allaah bestow your blessings on our Shaam. O Allaah bestow your blessings on our Yemen." The people said, "O Messenger of Allaah, and our Najd." I think the third time the Prophet, (Sallallaahu 'Alaihi Wasallam), said,
"There (in Najd) will occur earthquakes, trials and tribulations, and from their appears the Horn of Satan."
"A people that recite Qur'an will come out of the East (East of Arabia, Riyad), but it will not go past their throats. They will pass through the religion (of Islam) like the arrow passes through its quarry. They will no more come back to the religion than the arrow will come back to its course. Their sign is that they shave (their heads)."
"At the end of times a man will come out of Musaylima's country and he will change the religion of Islam."
Note: Most of the Khawarij were from the Najd area, from the tribes of Banu Hanifa, Banu Tamim, and Wa'il. Musaylima was from the Banu Hanifa, and Ibn `Abd al-Wahhab is from Tamim.
It is reported in Mishkat from Hazrat Abu Said Khudri (RA) who narrates that,
Once we were in the presence and company of Prophet (Sallallaahu 'Alaihi Wasallam). He was distributing booties (Spoils of War) when a person named Zul-Khawaisara, who was from the tribe of Banu Tamim addressed the Prophet (Sallallaahu 'Alaihi Wasallam) 'Oh Muhammad Be Just!'.
The Prophet (Sallallaahu 'Alaihi Wasallam) replied:
'A Great pity that you have doubts; if I am unjust then who will be just; you are a loser and a failure'.
Zul-Khawaisara's attitude infuriated Hazrat Umar (RA) and he pleaded with the Prophet (Sallallaahu 'Alaihi Wasallam) to permit him to slay Zul-Khawaisara.
The Prophet (Sallallaahu 'Alaihi Wasallam) remarked:
'Leave him, as his slaying will serve no good purpose, as he is not the only individual but there are a host of others like him and if you compare their prayers and fasting to that of yours, you yourself will feel ashamed. These are the people who will recite the Quran but it will not go beyond their throats, with all these apparent virtues they will leave the fold of Deen just like the arrow leaves the bow."

A person with eyes protruding, with a long beard and head clean-shaven came to the Prophet (SAWS) and declared:
'O Muhammad! (Sallallaahu 'Alaihi Wasallam) fear Allah.'
The Prophet (Sallallaahu 'Alaihi Wasallam) replied:
'If I disobey Allah (WST), then who else will obey Him? I am obedient to Allah (SWT) at all times and never disobedient. Allah (SWT) has sent me as Amin (Honest for the entire world, but you don't accept me as an honest man?'
A Sahabi (Companion) became infuriated and sought permission to remove him from the presence of the Prophet (Sallallaahu 'Alaihi Wasallam) .The Prophet (Sallallaahu 'Alaihi Wasallam) prevented the Sahabi from doing so. After the person had left, the Prophet (Sallallaahu 'Alaihi Wasallam) said:
'From his progeny (descendants) will rise a Group who will recite the Holy Quran but it will not go below their throats. They will leave the Deen (Islam) just as an arrow leaves the bowstring. They will kill Muslims but spare the idolaters. If I ever confronted these people I would slaughter them just as the people of Aad had been destroyed'.

Historians have mentioned that Ibn Abdul Wahhab belonged to Banu Tamim tribe. The House of Sauds belonged to Banu Hanifah tribe. All historians have mentioned that the place of birth of Ibn Abdul Wahhab is Dariya, in Najd. These are photo finish facts confirming nature of Wahhabi movement. It has been asserted that this hadeeth is relating the coming events that shook the Muslim nation, these known as Fitnah or 'trials'. The trials that arose in Riyadh. The tribe that was in Riyadh at the time was It has also been identified as where the Dajjal or Antichrist is said to emerge from (according to a narration through Imam Nawawi [disambiguation needed]).
There have also been various conspiracy theories instigated against the people of the modern day region of Saudi Arabia known as 'Najd' however historically and geographically there is no substantial proof to support these arguments as well as the suggested argument contrasting with a number of sound Hadith when objectively studied.

In this video, Shaykh Dr. Yasir Qadhi discusses 2 main stories:
1) Incidents around the lands of Fadak, where the wives of the Prophet (s) and daughter Fatima (r) wanted to inherit the property of Fadak, but Abu Bakr (r) refused.
2) The wars of the Ridda: A series of expeditions that Abu Bakr (r) sent out to those who turned their backs on Islam.
Fadak:
-Recall, the people of Fadak had told the Prophet (s) that if you don't attack us, we will give you 50% of our lands.
-Allah had allowed the Prophet (s) to benefit the Ummah with it
-The wives of the Prophet (s) raised the issue of inheritance first, and then later Fatima (r), sending Uthman Ibn Affan as a messenger to Abu Bakr (r)
-Abu Bakr told the wives and then also Fatima (r) that this is sadaqah (charity) and cannot be given to the family of the Prophet (s), fearing that he could not change what the Prophet (s) had commanded.
-One narration states: Fatima (r) never again spoke to Abu Bakr (r) until she died
-Another narration has Abu Bakr (r) resolving the tension between each other by telling Fatima at her death bed: "By Allah, I have not done all that I have and given all my money, all of it, except for the sake of Allah, the Messenger of Allah and for the sake of the family of the Messenger of Allah"
-The two of them never boycotted each other
-Note, Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman nor Ali (r) gave Fadak to the wives or Fatima (r) during their khilafa, showing this to be the right decision and that it was not a personal conflict.
-All wives and household of the Prophet (s) were given stipends until their death from the wealth of the Ummah, started by Abu Bakr (r)
-Fabricated story by a small strand of Shi'a says: Abu Bakr (r) forced Umar to go bring Ali (r) to give bayyah, where they barged in, Fatima (r) was injured and lost her pregnancy, Ali (r) was chained, etc.
Ridda:
-Many new tribes had accepted Islam for the wrong reasons and eman had not settled in their hearts
-There were 3 types of people:
a) Those who went back to paganism (jaheliyah). They re-introduced idolatry.
b) New phenomenon of false prophets. Groups claimed to be Muslims, and even prayed, but believed in or claimed to follow new prophets.
c) Those who wanted to stop giving Zakat.
False prophets: From Banu Hanifa, Musaylima claimed prophethood. He once told the Prophet (s) "I will only believe in you if you make me a prophet alongside you."
Sajjah bint Al Haarith from banu Tamim also claimed to be a woman prophet. She gathered 40k strong army and initially threatened Musaylima, but he plotted to impress her and the two agreed to get married in order to unite their forces. His mahr (gift) was to cancel Fajr and Isha prayers for her.
Khalid bin Walid, became famous for his actions during the wars of Ridda.
Wahshi, who had killed the Prophet's uncle Hamza and wanted to make up for it, made intention to and eventually was able to kill Musaylima using the same javelin.
Sajjah eventually fled to Iraq and when the Muslims reached her, she had already repented openly and lived the rest of her life as an ascetic worshiper.

In this video, Shaykh Dr. Yasir Qadhi discusses 2 main stories:
1) Incidents around the lands of Fadak, where the wives of the Prophet (s) and daughter Fatima (r) wanted to inherit the property of Fadak, but Abu Bakr (r) refused.
2) The wars of the Ridda: A series of expeditions that Abu Bakr (r) sent out to those who turned their backs on Islam.
Fadak:
-Recall, the people of Fadak had told the Prophet (s) that if you don't attack us, we will give you 50% of our lands.
-Allah had allowed the Prophet (s) to benefit the Ummah with it
-The wives of the Prophet (s) raised the issue of inheritance first, and then later Fatima (r), sending Uthman Ibn Affan as a messenger to Abu Bakr (r)
-Abu Bakr told the wives and then also Fatima (r) that this is sadaqah (charity) and cannot be given to the family of the Prophet (s), fearing that he could not change what the Prophet (s) had commanded.
-One narration states: Fatima (r) never again spoke to Abu Bakr (r) until she died
-Another narration has Abu Bakr (r) resolving the tension between each other by telling Fatima at her death bed: "By Allah, I have not done all that I have and given all my money, all of it, except for the sake of Allah, the Messenger of Allah and for the sake of the family of the Messenger of Allah"
-The two of them never boycotted each other
-Note, Abu Bakr, Umar, Uthman nor Ali (r) gave Fadak to the wives or Fatima (r) during their khilafa, showing this to be the right decision and that it was not a personal conflict.
-All wives and household of the Prophet (s) were given stipends until their death from the wealth of the Ummah, started by Abu Bakr (r)
-Fabricated story by a small strand of Shi'a says: Abu Bakr (r) forced Umar to go bring Ali (r) to give bayyah, where they barged in, Fatima (r) was injured and lost her pregnancy, Ali (r) was chained, etc.
Ridda:
-Many new tribes had accepted Islam for the wrong reasons and eman had not settled in their hearts
-There were 3 types of people:
a) Those who went back to paganism (jaheliyah). They re-introduced idolatry.
b) New phenomenon of false prophets. Groups claimed to be Muslims, and even prayed, but believed in or claimed to follow new prophets.
c) Those who wanted to stop giving Zakat.
False prophets: From Banu Hanifa, Musaylima claimed prophethood. He once told the Prophet (s) "I will only believe in you if you make me a prophet alongside you."
Sajjah bint Al Haarith from banu Tamim also claimed to be a woman prophet. She gathered 40k strong army and initially threatened Musaylima, but he plotted to impress her and the two agreed to get married in order to unite their forces. His mahr (gift) was to cancel Fajr and Isha prayers for her.
Khalid bin Walid, became famous for his actions during the wars of Ridda.
Wahshi, who had killed the Prophet's uncle Hamza and wanted to make up for it, made intention to and eventually was able to kill Musaylima using the same javelin.
Sajjah eventually fled to Iraq and when the Muslims reached her, she had already repented openly and lived the rest of her life as an ascetic worshiper.

Mappila Paattu or Mappila Song is a folklore Muslim song genre rendered to lyrics in colloquial Mappila dialect of Malayalam laced with Arabic, by the Mappilas of Malabar. Mappila songs have a distinct cultural identity, while at the same time, remain closely linked to the cultural practices of Kerala. The songs often used words from Persian, Urdu, Tamil, Hindi apart from Arabic and Malayalam, but the grammatical syntax was always based on Malayalam. They deal with themes such as religion, love, satire and heroism, and are often sung at occasions of birth, marriage and death.
