The Talos Principle Croatian developer Croteam is best known for creating the mindless slaughter fest that is Serious Sam. They also developed one of the hardest puzzle games ever made with The Talos Principle. You have to solve a series of puzzle rooms that range from challenging to almost impossible. At least you can always fire up Serious Sam and let off some steam if you get frustrated by it all. 4. SpaceChem SpaceChem is a puzzle game that is so hard it actually makes you feel physically tired when you're done playing. You have to create circuits and place upon each circuit certain commands to achieve a desired outcome. SpaceChem's difficulty quickly becomes intimidating as most players don’t even get past the first few minutes before giving up. 5. The Witness The Witness by Jonathan Blow is one of the hardest games ever made. You wander around a beautifully rendered island to solve a bunch of maze puzzles. They start off simple but it doesn’t take long before things get really complicated. The game explains virtually nothing and everything in the world has meaning which is enough to make your brain hurt. 6. Hacknet When a video game is almost as difficult as actual programming you have to wonder if you can still call it a game. Hacknet is a ‘hacking simulator’ in which you have to use real hacking tactics to solve the mysterious death of a famous hacker.
