Big Chief from Street Outlaws took his shiny brand new Crowmod down to South Georgia to put on a show! Sporting a Pontiac V8 with big twin turbochargers hanging off the side, it was no easy task to get it race ready for the big event! In an unfortunate turn of events, Big Chief hurt the motor doing some testing days before and scheduled an emergency rebuild at Butler Performance, which are the guys who take care of this very unique Pontiac V8 engine. New bearings, connecting rods, pistons, and a bunch of other parts were needed to get the car back together! Unfortunately, the block did end up cracking, so they patched it together and have plans to build a new motor in the near future! This car is fueled by FuelTech’s FT500 EFI system, helping Big Chief push the Crowmod down the track into the low 4’s! We look forward to seeing what Big Chief has in store with the Crowmod once it’s at 100%!

Big Chief in the Crowmod vs Kye Kelley in The Shocker at American Outlaws LIVE.
Unfortunately, we didn't get a race out of it. It appears that The Shocker may have had a nitrous backfire.
Also, the fire at the end of the track was just fireworks, but no one knew that at the time.

"Big Chief" is a song composed by Earl King in the early 1960s. It became a hit in New Orleans for Professor Longhair in 1964, featuring a whistled first chorus in a rollicking blues piano style and subsequent lyrics written in a Creole patois (whistled and sung by King, uncredited). The tune became popular in New Orleans, frequently performed by local musicians such as Dr. John, and is now a staple of the repertory of most brass bands and musicians in the area.
King wrote the song while attending school, and recalled the tune during a recording session with Longhair arranged by Wardell Quezergue. Longhair originally wanted to record the song with a small ensemble, but Quezergue, King, and Smokey Johnson (who also played on the session) convinced him to include an eleven- or fifteen-piece horn ensemble on the 1964 recording.
The song refers to Mardi Gras Indian groups; an important part of the African American Mardi Gras tradition. The "Indian Nation" of Mardi Gras Indian "gangs" in New Orleans includes the Wild Magnolias, the Golden Eagles, and several others. Mardi Gras Indian gangs have existed since the early 20th Century. Each gang performs its own original songs and dances on Mardi Gras Day, on "Super Sunday"(the Sunday before St. Patrick's Day) and at other functions in the community. The "Big Chief," the "Spy Boy," the "Flag Boy" and several other roles or offices are important to the Mardi Gras Indian tradition of "masking" (parading through the street in full costume). These characters are mentioned in Earl King's song, as well as many other songs which have come out of New Orleans.[citation needed]

Big is a 1988 romantic comedy film directed by Penny Marshall and stars Tom Hanks as Josh Baskin, a young boy who makes a wish "to be big" to a magical wishing machine and is then aged to adulthood overnight. The film also stars Elizabeth Perkins, and Robert Loggia and was written by Gary Ross and Anne Spielberg.
Big was the latest, and most successful, of a series of age-changing comedies produced in the late 1980s; the others being: Like Father Like Son (1987), 18 Again! (1988), Vice Versa (1988), the Italian film Da grande (1987).
After being told he is too short for a carnival ride while attempting to impress an older girl (Kimberlee M. Davis), 12-year-old Josh Baskin (David Moscow) from Cliffside Park, New Jersey goes to a wishing machine called Zoltar Speaks, and wishes that he was "big." His wish is granted, but he finds out that the machine is unplugged, and backs away. By the next morning he is shocked to discover that he has been transformed into a 30-year-old man (Tom Hanks), and when he goes back to the wishing machine he finds that the carnival has already left. Fleeing from his mother (Mercedes Ruehl), who thinks he is a strange man who has kidnapped her son, Josh then finds his best friend, Billy Kopecki (Jared Rushton), at the school they both attend; Billy is shocked at first, but Josh convinces him of his identity by singing a secret song that only the two of them know. With Billy's help, he learns that it would take a couple of months to find the Zoltar Speaks machine, so Josh rents a flophouse room in New York City and gets a data entry job at MacMillan Toy Company.

Big Chief from Street Outlaws took his shiny brand new Crowmod down to South Georgia to put on a show! Sporting a Pontiac V8 with big twin turbochargers hanging...
Big Chief from Street Outlaws took his shiny brand new Crowmod down to South Georgia to put on a show! Sporting a Pontiac V8 with big twin turbochargers hanging off the side, it was no easy task to get it race ready for the big event! In an unfortunate turn of events, Big Chief hurt the motor doing some testing days before and scheduled an emergency rebuild at Butler Performance, which are the guys who take care of this very unique Pontiac V8 engine. New bearings, connecting rods, pistons, and a bunch of other parts were needed to get the car back together! Unfortunately, the block did end up cracking, so they patched it together and have plans to build a new motor in the near future! This car is fueled by FuelTech’s FT500 EFI system, helping Big Chief push the Crowmod down the track into the low 4’s! We look forward to seeing what Big Chief has in store with the Crowmod once it’s at 100%!

Big Chief from Street Outlaws took his shiny brand new Crowmod down to South Georgia to put on a show!
