I keep trying to leave Austin, Texas, but this city keeps drawing me back.
When I'm living elsewhere, I can't help but compare my other homes to Austin unfavorably. I've found nowhere else on this planet that has such a specific mix of awesome elements going for it.
In this video, I talk about six things that make Austin stand out from its peers.
Some of the things I touch on are:
1) The park system, greenbelts, and barton springs,
2) The transportation system, bike lanes, trails, and biking as a mode of transportation.
3) Food availability and prices, HEB, and Sprouts
4) The fit culture and the Austin Acro Community.
5) The warm weather and mild winters.
6) The culture of weirdness, Ecstatic Dance, and The Austin Love Juggernaut

Dump Truck Brakes Go out coming down Jester Blvd at 2222 in Austin Texas
This happened done the street from my office. Amazingly...we think everyone survived. Sadly, there was another accident about 1/2 mile away at the top of the hill at 2222 and 620 where there was a fatality. It was a hard day on 2222 in Austin.

Austin (/ˈɒstɨn/ or /ˈɔːstɨn/) is the capital of the U.S. state of Texas and the seat of Travis County. Located in Central Texas on the eastern edge of the American Southwest, it is the fourth-largest city in Texas and the 14th most populous city in the United States. It was the third-fastest-growing large city in the nation from 2000 to 2006. Austin has a population of 790,390 (2010 U.S. Census). The city is the cultural and economic center of the Austin–Round Rock–San Marcos metropolitan area, which had an estimated population 1,783,519 (2011 U.S. Census), making it the 34th-largest metropolitan statistical area in the United States.
In the 1830s, pioneers began to the settle the area in central Austin along the Colorado River. After Republic of Texas Vice President Mirabeau B. Lamar visited the area during a buffalo-hunting expedition between 1837 and 1838, he proposed that the republic's capital then located in Houston, Texas, be relocated to the area situated on the north bank of the Colorado River near the present-day Ann W. Richards Congress Avenue Bridge. In 1839, the site was officially chosen as the republic's new capital (the republic's seventh and final location) and was incorporated under the name, Waterloo. Shortly thereafter, the name was changed to Austin in honor of Stephen F. Austin, the "Father of Texas" and the republic's first secretary of state.

Norah Jones (born Geethali Norah Jones Shankar; March 30, 1979) is an American singer-songwriter, pianist, and actress. She is the daughter of Indian sitar player Ravi Shankar. She is also the paternal half-sister of Anoushka Shankar.
In 2002, she launched her solo music career with the release of the commercially successful and critically acclaimed album Come Away With Me, a fusion of jazz, pop, and country music, which was certified a diamond album in 2002, selling over 20 million copies. The record earned Jones five Grammy Awards, including the Album of the Year, Record of the Year, and Best New Artist. Her subsequent studio albums, Feels Like Home, released in 2004, Not Too Late, released in 2007, the same year she made her film debut in My Blueberry Nights, and her 2009 release The Fall all gained Platinum status after selling over a million copies and were generally well received by critics.
