Comedians such as Jerry Seinfield and Chris Rock aren't the only people who feel college campuses have grown intolerant of free speech. Jim Doti, President of Chapman University, shares their concerns and says campuses are worse off now than they were ten or twenty years ago.
"People [increasingly] feel that they are victims of some kind of social stigmatization, and as a result you have to be very, very sensitive," says Doti, "and free speech is not about being sensitive."
Reason TV sat down with Doti at this year's Freedom Fest to discuss the decline of campus free speech, why he thinks "multi-cultural" centers at colleges are a bad thing, and the value of a liberal arts education.

A Chancellor is a leader of a college or university, usually either the executive or ceremonial head of the university or of a university campus.
In most Commonwealth (or former Commonwealth) nations, the Chancellor is usually a titular (ceremonial figurehead) non-resident head of the university. In such institutions, the chief executive of a university is the Vice-Chancellor, who may also carry a title such as the alternates listed above (such as "President & Vice-Chancellor"). The Chancellor may serve as chairman of the governing body (the council or board of governors); if not, this duty is often held by a chairman who may be known as a Pro-Chancellor.
In many countries, the administrative and educational head of the university is known as the President, Principal or Rector. In United States, the head of a university is most commonly a university president. In U.S. university systems that have more than one affiliated university or campus, the executive head of a specific campus may have the title of Chancellor and report to the overall system's President, or vice versa.

AUSTIN, Texas (Reuters) - Baylor University declined to comment on reports on Tuesday that Kenneth Starr, the former independent counsel charged with investigating Bill Clinton during his presidency who is now the president of the world's largest Baptist college, has been fired over sexual abuse scandals at the school. Baylor University responded Tuesday to reports that the school’s board of regents voted to fire school President Ken Starr amid mounting pressure over how the school has handled reports of rape and assault by football players, saying no decision has yet been made.
The Texas university said its governing board was still considering the results of an internal investigation into the matter.
When asked about reports that the board of regents had voted to fire Starr, university spokeswoman Lori Fogleman told the Associated Press in an email, "Ken Starr is president and chancellor of Baylor University."
In a separate statement issued by the university obtained by Fox Sports, Baylor said its board has not finished reviewing the report by Philadelphia law firm Pepper Hamilton.

"That means we cannot sleepwalk through life," he said.
while Obama said he encouraged activism in all forms, he said what has been lost in many young activists he sees today a willingness to compromise or work through America's democratic channels.
Specifically pointing out the Black Lives Matter movement, Obama told the graduates "change requires more than righteous anger," and specifically targeted those who have tried to shut down political rallies.
"Don't do that," Obama said. "No matter how ridiculous or offensive you might find the things that come out of their mouths. Because as my grandmother used to tell me, 'Every time a fool speaks they are just advertising their own ignorance.'"
Obama closed out his lecture on "change" by evoking another one of his signature campaign slogans, reminding students, "Yes we can."
It's the first of three commencement addresses Obama will deliver in his final year as president. He will also speak to graduates of Rutgers University on May 15 and the U.S. Air Force Academy on June 2.
