Aloo Puri is a very popular Indian breakfast dish. It is yummy, easy to make and most importantly tasty & tummy filling. Pair it up with pickle and enjoy the delicious Aloo Puris. So with chef Ruchi Bharani, learn to make Aloo Puri only on Rajshri Food.
Ingredients:
- 1 big potato, boiled and grated
- 2 green chillies, deseeded and chopped
- 1/4 tsp Coriander and Cumin Seed Powder
- 1/4 Tsp Red Chilli Powder
- 1/4 ts p Asafoetida
- 1 Tbsp Oil
- 1 Cup ,Wheat Flour
- 1 Tbsp Coriander Leaves
- Oil for frying
Method:
- Add wheat flour to smashed potato along with raw mango powder, coriander and cumin seed powder, asafoetida, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, carom seeds, coriander leaves, salt and oil.
- Mix them well and add water so as to form a dough.
- Keep the dough a side for 10 minutes.
- Make small round balls of this dough and roll them in the form of a puri.
- Apply oil on the rolling pin and rolling board and carefully roll them in to puri.
- Fry them and serve it hot along with pickle.

Puri (How to make Poori)
Puris are perhaps one of the most well-known and versatile of Indian foods. It can be served as a snack or a meal depending on the accompanying items. However, it is important to know the right way of making puris, so that they come out nice and fluffy and without too much oil. While the perfect puri can be bliss, flops can be quite overwhelming and prevent diners from having their fill. Why worry when you have this foolproof recipe to follow. Serve up those hot and crispy puris with a steaming side-dish or just curds and pickle; it'll be wonderful in any case!
Preparation Time: 5 minutes. Cooking Time: 15 minutes. Makes 12 puris.
1 cup whole wheat flour (gehun ka atta)
2½ tbsp oil
A pinch of salt
Oil for deep-frying
1. Combine the whole wheat flour, 2 tbsp of oil and salt all and knead into a stiff dough using enough water.
2. Knead again with the remaining ½ tbsp of oil and cover and keep aside for 10 to 15 minutes.
3. Divide the dough into 12 equal portions and roll out each portion into a 75 mm. (3") diameter round.
4. Heat the oil in a deep kadhai and deep-fry the puris a few at a time till they turn golden brown in colour from both the sides.
5. Drain on absorbent paper and serve hot.

1/4 teaspoon garam masala

Puri 
pronunciation (help·info) (Oriya: ପୁରୀ ) is a city and the district headquarters of puri district, situated on the Bay of Bengal 60 kilometres (37 mi) south of the state capital Bhubaneswar in the Indian state of Orissa. It is also known as Jagannath Puri after the 11th century Jagannath Temple located in the city. Puri is a holy city of the Hindus as a part of the Char Dham pilgrimages. According to Hindu teachings, a pilgrimage of the temples of India is not considered complete without a journey to Puri.
Puri is endowed with one of the best beaches for swimming in India and is therefore also a popular beach resort, especially as it is positioned geographically so that both sunset and sunrise can be viewed from the beach.
Puri, the holy land of Lord Jagannath, has many names. It is mentioned in Puranas as Srikshetra, Shankhakshetra, Neelāchala, Neelādri, Purusottama Dhāma, Purusottama Kshetra, Purusottama Puri and Jagannath Puri. The word "Puri" in Sanskrit means 'town', or 'city' and is cognate with polis in Greek. It is possible that Puri is a shortened name for Jagannath Puri or Purusottama Puri. In some records pertaining to the British rule, the word 'Jagannath' was used for Puri. It is the only shrine in India, where Radha, along with Lakshmi, Durga, Sati, Parvati, and Shakti abodes with Krishna, also known as Jagannath.[citation needed]

Plot: Amar G. Kapoor is an unemployed but talented youth who was born in Lahore, and is the grandson of renowned Lala Kedarnath. He re-locates to Delhi in search of employment as a singer/dancer, meets with Sangeeta, whose mom, Rukmini, owns and runs a post hotel, gets a job there, falls in love with Sangeeta, and much to the chagrin of Rukmini, both get married, and soon become parents of twins, Kiran and Jyoti. The marriage does not last long as minor issues bludgeon, leading to accusations that Amar is having an affair with the daughter of the hotel chef. Amar decides to take Kiran and moves out. Seven years later Amar has accomplished himself in Bombay, runs an advertisement agency, while Kiran is studying in school. While on an outdoor trip, both twins meets, and decide to change places, in order to bring their parents together. Watch what happens when Rukmini finds out and is all set to stop this from happening, and in order to complicate matters even more, Jyoti finds out that an alcohol-induced Amar is having an affair with Kiran's dance-teacher, Chanchal.

Ingredients:
- 1 big potato, boiled and grated
- 2 green chillies, deseeded and chopped
- 1/4 tsp Coriander and Cumin Seed Powder
- 1/4 Tsp Red Chilli Powder
- 1/4 ts p Asafoetida
- 1 Tbsp Oil
- 1 Cup ,Wheat Flour
- 1 Tbsp Coriander Leaves
- Oil for frying
Method:
- Add wheat flour to smashed potato along with raw mango powder, coriander and cumin seed powder, asafoetida, turmeric powder, red chilli powder, carom seeds, coriander leaves, salt and oil.
- Mix them well and add water so as to form a dough.
- Keep the dough a side for 10 minutes.
- Make small round balls of this dough and roll them in the form of a puri.
- Apply oil on the rolling pin and rolling board and carefully roll them in to puri.
- Fry them and serve it hot along with pickle.

Puri (How to make Poori)
Puris are perhaps one of the most well-known and versatile of Indian foods. It can be served as a snack or a meal depending on the accompanying items. However, it is important to know the right way of making puris, so that they come out nice and fluffy and without too much oil. While the perfect puri can be bliss, flops can be quite overwhelming and prevent diners from having their fill. Why worry when you have this foolproof recipe to follow. Serve up those hot and crispy puris with a steaming side-dish or just curds and pickle; it'll be wonderful in any case!
Preparation Time: 5 minutes. Cooking Time: 15 minutes. Makes 12 puris.
1 cup whole wheat flour (gehun ka atta)
2½ tbsp oil
A pinch of salt
Oil for deep-frying
1. Combine the whole wheat flour, 2 tbsp of oil and salt all and knead into a stiff dough using enough water.
2. Knead again with the remaining ½ tbsp of oil and cover and keep aside for 10 to 15 minutes.
3. Divide the dough into 12 equal portions and roll out each portion into a 75 mm. (3") diameter round.
4. Heat the oil in a deep kadhai and deep-fry the puris a few at a time till they turn golden brown in colour from both the sides.
5. Drain on absorbent paper and serve hot.

Puri (How to make Poori)
Puris are perhaps one of the most well-known and versatile of Indian foods. It can be served as a snack or a meal depending on the accompanying items. However, it is important to know the right way of making puris, so that they come out nice and fluffy and without too much oil. While the perfect puri can be bliss, flops can be quite overwhelming and prevent diners from having their fill. Why worry when you have this foolproof recipe to follow. Serve up those hot and crispy puris with a steaming side-dish or just curds and pickle; it'll be wonderful in any case!
Preparation Time: 5 minutes. Cooking Time: 15 minutes. Makes 12 puris.
1 cup whole wheat flour (gehun ka atta)
2½ tbsp oil
A pinch of salt
Oil for deep-frying
1. Combine the whole wheat flour, 2 tbsp of oil and salt all and knead into a stiff dough using enough water.
2. Knead again with the remaining ½ tbsp of oil and cover and keep aside for 10 to 15 minutes.
3. Divide the dough into 12 equal portions and roll out each portion into a 75 mm. (3") diameter round.
4. Heat the oil in a deep kadhai and deep-fry the puris a few at a time till they turn golden brown in colour from both the sides.
5. Drain on absorbent paper and serve hot.

There are few Indian street foods more intriguing, tempting, and as popular as something known as pani puri. In Kolkata, they are known as puchka and in other parts of India they are referred to as golgappa, but they are all quite similar, and the most common name is just pani puri. These snacks are widely available in India, Pakistan, and Nepal. Puri is the world for a deep fried piece of dough, which in this case is a little hollow ball about the size of a golf ball. It's crispy like a chip. Pani is the Hindi word for water, so both together make up chips and water.
Pani puri is available all over India, but in this Indian street food video, I'm on the streets of Kolkata for my first taste of a pani puri. As soon as I rolled up, the vendor first handed me a small bowl that was made from a leaf. The bowl was tiny, only able to hold a single pani puri at a single time. It was time to begin round one. The vendor began by grabbing a puri from his big stockpile, an entire tower of puris, and he then poked a hole in it with his thumb. He then added some masala spiced potatoes, a few spices and finally dipped into a bucket of water. Now it's not just plain water that fills the puris, in this case it was tamarind infused water including extra spices, onions, and cilantro. So after the pani puri (puchka) was completely assembled, the vendor then handed it to me by placing it in the small leaf bowl. Huddled around the vendor, I grabbed the puri, and plopped the entire combination of ingredients into my mouth in a single bite. You have to take a single bite, of the ingredients will all spill out. What greeted my mouth was an extremely delicious burst of crunchy was transformed into a flavorful gush of the spicy tamarind water. It was a culinary sensation like I'd never had before, a contrast of flavors and textures that really went well together. As soon as I had chewed down my first pani puri, the vendor was immediately ready with another fresh one, and placed it into my bowl again. It's important to eat pani puri one at a time so they don't get soggy from the water. I ate a round of five, though I wanted to stand there indefinitely and eat more and more.
I mentioned above, pani puri is a favorite Indian street food, and it's available all over the country. There are a number of different variations and alterations of the snack, but the ones in Kolkata are normally filled with tamarind water that's salty and sour. If you are in Kolkata, be sure to take a wander around the New Market where you'll find all kinds of chaotic action including a ton of delicious street food.

There are few Indian street foods more intriguing, tempting, and as popular as something known as pani puri. In Kolkata, they are known as puchka and in other parts of India they are referred to as golgappa, but they are all quite similar, and the most common name is just pani puri. These snacks are widely available in India, Pakistan, and Nepal. Puri is the world for a deep fried piece of dough, which in this case is a little hollow ball about the size of a golf ball. It's crispy like a chip. Pani is the Hindi word for water, so both together make up chips and water.
Pani puri is available all over India, but in this Indian street food video, I'm on the streets of Kolkata for my first taste of a pani puri. As soon as I rolled up, the vendor first handed me a small bowl that was made from a leaf. The bowl was tiny, only able to hold a single pani puri at a single time. It was time to begin round one. The vendor began by grabbing a puri from his big stockpile, an entire tower of puris, and he then poked a hole in it with his thumb. He then added some masala spiced potatoes, a few spices and finally dipped into a bucket of water. Now it's not just plain water that fills the puris, in this case it was tamarind infused water including extra spices, onions, and cilantro. So after the pani puri (puchka) was completely assembled, the vendor then handed it to me by placing it in the small leaf bowl. Huddled around the vendor, I grabbed the puri, and plopped the entire combination of ingredients into my mouth in a single bite. You have to take a single bite, of the ingredients will all spill out. What greeted my mouth was an extremely delicious burst of crunchy was transformed into a flavorful gush of the spicy tamarind water. It was a culinary sensation like I'd never had before, a contrast of flavors and textures that really went well together. As soon as I had chewed down my first pani puri, the vendor was immediately ready with another fresh one, and placed it into my bowl again. It's important to eat pani puri one at a time so they don't get soggy from the water. I ate a round of five, though I wanted to stand there indefinitely and eat more and more.
I mentioned above, pani puri is a favorite Indian street food, and it's available all over the country. There are a number of different variations and alterations of the snack, but the ones in Kolkata are normally filled with tamarind water that's salty and sour. If you are in Kolkata, be sure to take a wander around the New Market where you'll find all kinds of chaotic action including a ton of delicious street food.

Our attempts to juggle these "reality ballons" has a label. "Life." And so, we simply do the best we can.
Of course they're always be the "doing-Europe-in-two -weeks crowd. Responsible for that old joke where the European asks the tourist how he enjoyed his vacation. The reply -- "Dunno. Have'nt got the pictures back yet." Obviously a "pre-digital" ha-ha. But, you get my drift dear reader. Do you not?
The quality of our journeys is not how far we go and how much we see, but how we go far. And how much we experience. Aldous Huxley said it best: "Experience is not what happens to us. It's what we do with what happens to us." Wise words indeed. That can apply to any situation.

How you go far, bien sur, is a personal preference. Mine being, as you well know, the bicycle. Gliding down dappled country lanes, etc. - which also offers the very real possibility of getting soaked in a summer shower on said country lanes. The result -- depending on what you do with the experience can mean making new friends. The kind with a roof over their heads!

If your chariot of choice is, say, a donkey -- your experience will be even deeper. But, obviously, not as deep as the one walkers will enjoy.
Ultimately, at the end of the day, when push comes to shove, when the rubber meets the road, when all things are considered, in the final analysis, after the fat lady has sung -- your mode of transport is as irrelevant as the folks who use hackneyed expressions when summing up their ever so precious "thoughts." Regardless of which choice works for you -- the most essential piece of baggage is a mental suitcase full of "How you go Far."

When I traveled to India, I went with a main purpose to eat. I took a flight from Bangkok to Kolkata and as soon as I got off the plane and settled into my apartment, I headed out to explore the streets and find some tasty Indian street food. And in Kolkata, street food is everywhere to be seen, tempting, and very tasty. One of the first snacks I had upon arriving in India was something known as Bhel Puri. It's a snack that's famous all over India, particularly in Mumbai, but they also make a Bengali version that's popular in Kolkata.
Bhel puri is a combination of puffed rice, sev (which to me taste like uncooked broken pieces of ramen), boiled potatoes, onions, cilantro, and a variety of added spices and sauces to add extreme flavor. I walked up to a nice vendor in Kolkata and placed my order for a single serving. He proceeded to grab a piece of scrap paper (a commonly used form of plate in India) and placed a handful of all the ingredients into the paper cone. Then he asked me if I wanted it to be spicy, to which I obliged. He spooned a few scoops of red and green sauce onto the mixture and then he somehow, with a swift toss and scoop method, managed to coat all the ingredients in the sauce without spilling too much. A few garnishing ingredients on top, and it was ready to be served.
To eat Kolkata bhel puri, you're given a small flattened stick that can be used as a spoon. My first bite was a delicious tangy explosion of tomatoey spicy goodness. It was like eating a bag of potato chips, except this mixture was coated in flavorful sauce and every now and then I got a nice tinge of red onion and a bite of freshly chopped chili. It's such a good Indian street food snack that it's honestly hard to put down your cone once you start - you'll want to devour the entire thing and then order another one.
One tip is to eat bhel puri as soon as you order it. Wait too long and the ingredients all become soggy due to the sauce, so if you eat it straight away, it's remains crunchy and has good texture. If you're looking for good place to eat bhel puri in Kolkata, wander around the New Market area where you'll find plenty of street food vendors selling all sorts of interesting snacks. A cone of freshly made bhel puri will cost just 20 Rupees and it really is a fantastic snack!
