Secara profesi, ia adalah seorang dokter medis, memperoleh gelar Bachelor of Medicine and Surgery (MBBS) dari Maharashtra, tapi sejak 1991 ia telah menjadi seorang ulama yang terlibat dalam dakwah Islam dan perbandingan agama. Ia menyatakan bahwa tujuannya ialah membangkitkan kembali dasar-dasar penting Islam yang kebanyakan remaja Muslim tidak menyadarinya atau sedikit memahaminya dalam konteks modernitas. Zakir Naik adalah pendiri dan presiden Islamic Research Foundation (IRF) sebuah organisasi nirlaba yang memiliki dan menyiarkan jaringan saluran TV gratis Peace TV dari Mumbai, India. Zakir Naik terlahir pada 18 Oktober, 1965 Mumbai (Bombay pada waktu itu) beliau adalah seorang pembicara umum Muslim India, dan penulis keislaman dan perbandingan agama. Sejak 1991 ia telah menjadi seorang ulama yang terlibat dalam dakwah Islam dan perbandingan agama. Naik mengatakan ia terinspirasi oleh Ahmed Deedat yang telah aktif di bidang dakwah selama lebih dari 40 tahun. Menurut Naik, tujuannya adalah "berkonsentrasi pada remaja Muslim berpendidikan yang mulai meragukan agamanya sendiri dan merasa agamanya telah kuno" dan adalah tugas setiap Muslim untuk menghilangkan kesalahpahaman tentang Islam untuk melawan apa yang ia anggap sebagai bias anti-Islam oleh media Barat setelah serangan 11 September 2001 terhadap Amerika Serikat. Ia telah berceramah dan menulis sejumlah buku tentang Islam dan perbandingan agama juga hal-hal yang ditujukan untuk menghapus keraguan tentang Islam. Sejumlah artikelnya juga sering diterbitkan di majalah India seperti Islamic Voice. Jika kita melihat tayangan video Dr. Zakir Naik di Youtube, ceramah beliau tidak hanya hanya orang Islam saja juga oleh kristen, hindu, buddha, bahkan ateisme. Dan kita lihat dari ceramah-ceramahnya di YouTube, banyak orang-orang non-Muslim tersebut termasuk pendeta, pandid, dsb yang tadinya melakukan debat agama dengan beliau namun akhirnya masuk Islam (menjadi muallaf) di acara beliau. Mereka memberikan kesaksian bahwa Islam adalah agama kebenaran. Dr. Zakir Naik dengan kemampuan yang dimilikinya berupa hafalan yang teramat kuat tidak hanya mampu menghafalkan Al-Qur’an dan Shahih Bukhari Muslim, akan tetapi beliau juga telah menguasai kitab Weda, Tripitaka, Bhagavad gita, bahkan telah menggerakkan hati ribuan penganut Hindu di India dan menjadi mu’allaf. Beliau tanpa ragu-ragu juga mengoreksi pastur dan pendeta jika mereka salah dalam mengutip ayat-ayat dalam bibble atau injil. Namun, tidak seperti gurunya, yaitu Syekh Ahmed Deedat, Dr. Zakir Naik tidak memiliki banyak agenda Debat Terbuka layaknya Ahmed Deedat karena hampir semua tantangan debat yang dilayangkan oleh Dr. Zakir Naik banyak yang tidak mendapat respon dari gereja, bahkan sampai sekarang belum ada berita apakah ada Pendeta yang berani berhadapan langsung dengan beliau. Oleh karena itu, Dr. Zakir Naik dijuluki “Ahmed Deedat Plus” yang telah membuat pastur dan pendeta merasa ngeri berhadapan dengan beliau yang argumentasinya belum pernah terpatahkan. Naik pernah mengajak debat terbuka kepada Paus Benediktus dimana tantangan debat tersebut tidak direspon. Debatnya pada tahun 2006 dengan Sri Sri Ravi Shankar dengan topik "Konsep Ketuhanan dalam Hinduisme dan Islam" yang diadakan di kota Bangalore, India, mengalami sukses besar. Beliau berhasil membuktikan bahwa Islam adalah agama kebenaran yang diwahyukan Allah kepada nabi penutup dan terakhir, Nabi Muhammad s.a.w. Dr. Zakir Naik muncul secara rutin di berbagai channel TV di lebih dari 100 negara di seluruh dunia. Dia secara berkala diwawancara dan diundang ke acara-acara radio maupun TV. Selain itu, beliau juga menulis banyak buku dengan judul "The Quran and Modern Science – Compatible or Incompatible", "Is the Quran God's Word?", "Women in Islam – Protected or Subjugated", "Concept of God in Major Religions", dan "Answers to Non-Muslims Common Questions about Islam." Indian Express membuat daftar "100 Orang India Terkuat 2009" di antara satu milyar penduduk India, Zakir Naik masuk peringkat 82. Dalam daftar khusus "10 Guru Spiritual Terbaik India", Zakir Naik ada di peringkat 3, setelah Baba Ramdev dan Sri Sri Ravi Shankar, menjadi satu-satunya Muslim di daftar ini.

Plot: Omar Khayyam was one of the greatest Persian poets. He was also a brilliant mathematician. Though his quatrains were written in the 11th century, they are still popular the world over. The details of his life are unknown, so this movie invents a biography for him and includes in it his real achievements - the invention of a new calendar and the penning of those epigrammatic poems. This film has him romancing a sultan's bride and foiling the assassin sect's plot to kill the sultan's son.

Plot: Nawab Safdarjung( Kumar ) lives in Delhi with his family and is a very fun loving person. She has a daughter Zarina ( Meena Kumari ) who is of marriageable age. While there are other candidates to hold her hand, the Nawab decides on Akbar ( Shekhar ) a young son of a noble nawab family from Lucknow. Everything goes well until few minutes before the marriage ceremony, Ibrahim ( played by Jeevan ) divulges to the Nawab that Akbar is only a son of a mali ( gardener ) and has no respectable family trace in his blood. The Nawab becomes furious and dissolves the marriage ceremony but Zarina decides to go the in-laws house and accepts Akbar as her husband. Akbar in the meantime disappears from his home and ends up in Cairo ( Egypt) and takes a job as a Manager of a factory. Zarina and her mother still waiting for words from Akbar when some money is sent to them by Akbar. In Cairo a dancer falls in love with Akbar and writes a letter to Zarina and her mother that Akbar is dead. Watch how this triangular love story ends with Akbar eventually comes back to his homeland and rejoins with his wife Zarina.
