To celebrate Batman Day this past Saturday, Zack Snyder took to twitter to reveal the first look at J.K. Simmons’ Commissioner Gordon from Justice League. Snyder has been giving fans a ton of exclusive looks at the film from his Twitter account, like he did last week when he revealed Batman in full tactical gear from the movie. Justice League opens in theatres on November 17th, 2017.
According to a report from Australia’s Herald Sun, a Mad Max: Fury Road prequel is reportedly not only in the works but could start filming in Australia as soon as this year with George Miller returning to the helm. The outlet also states the movie will focus on the backstory of Furiosa, played by Oscar winner Charlize Theron.
It’s Monday which means it’s time for the weekend box office report brought to you by our friends at AMC Theatres. Sully enjoyed a second straight weekend atop the box office, taking in $22 million for the No 1 spot. The much anticipated horror sequel Blair Witch, fell short of many predictions, pulling in $9.7 million for the No 2 spot. The third chapter in the Bridget Jones franchise, Bridget Jones’s Baby, pulled in $8.2 million for the No 3 spot. The third wide release, Oliver Stone’s Snowden, came in at No 4 with $8 million. And at No 5, Don’t Breathe, with $5.6 million.

THR reports that Tom Cruise and Paramount are nearing an official close to their deal after a contentious contract dispute halted preproduction on Mission: Impossible 6 earlier this summer. The project was heading toward a January 2017 start when the production paused for negotiations. Sources now tell THR that all the issues have been resolved and M:I6 is headed for a Spring 2017 start time.
We learned last fall that there are more Fast and Furious movies on the way with two more sequels dated for 2019 and 2021. And while Furious 7 seemed to give a proper send-off to Paul Walker’s Brian O’Conner, there’s a chance he may come back before the franchise comes to an end.
Focus Features has released a new trailer for Loving, the interracial marriage drama from Mud and Midnight Special writer/director Jeff Nichols. Based on a true story, the film stars Joel Edgerton and Ruth Negga as Richard and Mildred Loving, a Virginia couple who went up to Washington D.C. to get married, then faced intense discrimination in their home state.
7) During an appearance at the Deauville Film Festival, Chloë Grace Moretz told the Hollywood Reporter that she has dropped out of all upcoming projects including Universal’s live action reimagining of The Little Mermaid. She said “I pulled the plug on all my movies because I want to reassess who I am and find myself within my roles again. I’m realizing that I can slow down.”

James Gordon (comics)
Commissioner James "Jim" Gordon is a fictional character appearing in American comic books published by DC Comics, commonly in association with Batman. The character debuted in the first panel of Detective Comics #27 (May 1939), also Batman's first appearance. The character was created by Bill Finger, but credited to Bob Kane. Gordon's name was taken from the earlier pulp character Commissioner James W. "Wildcat" Gordon, also known as "The Whisperer", created in 1936 by Henry Ralston, John Nanovic, and Lawrence Donovan for Street & Smith. Commissioner Gordon made his debut as an ally of Batman, making him the first Batman supporting character ever to be introduced.
In most incarnations of the Batman mythos, James Gordon is the Police Commissioner of Gotham City. He shares Batman's deep commitment to ridding the city of crime. In Golden and Silver Age Comics and on the 1960s Batman television show, he fully trusts, and is even somewhat dependent on Batman. In most modern stories, he is somewhat skeptical of Batman's vigilante methods, but nevertheless believes that Gotham needs him. The two have a mutual respect and tacit friendship. He has been married twice: to Barbara Kean, and then to Sarah Essen Gordon. Gordon is also the father of James Gordon, Jr. and the father or adoptive father (depending on the continuity) of Barbara Gordon, the first modern Batgirl and the information broker Oracle.

To celebrate Batman Day this past Saturday, Zack Snyder took to twitter to reveal the first look at J.K. Simmons’ Commissioner Gordon from Justice League. Snyder has been giving fans a ton of exclusive looks at the film from his Twitter account, like he did last week when he revealed Batman in full tactical gear from the movie. Justice League opens in theatres on November 17th, 2017.
According to a report from Australia’s Herald Sun, a Mad Max: Fury Road prequel is reportedly not only in the works but could start filming in Australia as soon as this year with George Miller returning to the helm. The outlet also states the movie will focus on the backstory of Furiosa, played by Oscar winner Charlize Theron.
It’s Monday which means it’s time for the weekend box office report brought to you by our friends at AMC Theatres. Sully enjoyed a second straight weekend atop the box office, taking in $22 million for the No 1 spot. The much anticipated horror sequel Blair Witch, fell short of many predictions, pulling in $9.7 million for the No 2 spot. The third chapter in the Bridget Jones franchise, Bridget Jones’s Baby, pulled in $8.2 million for the No 3 spot. The third wide release, Oliver Stone’s Snowden, came in at No 4 with $8 million. And at No 5, Don’t Breathe, with $5.6 million.

THR reports that Tom Cruise and Paramount are nearing an official close to their deal after a contentious contract dispute halted preproduction on Mission: Impossible 6 earlier this summer. The project was heading toward a January 2017 start when the production paused for negotiations. Sources now tell THR that all the issues have been resolved and M:I6 is headed for a Spring 2017 start time.
We learned last fall that there are more Fast and Furious movies on the way with two more sequels dated for 2019 and 2021. And while Furious 7 seemed to give a proper send-off to Paul Walker’s Brian O’Conner, there’s a chance he may come back before the franchise comes to an end.
Focus Features has released a new trailer for Loving, the interracial marriage drama from Mud and Midnight Special writer/director Jeff Nichols. Based on a true story, the film stars Joel Edgerton and Ruth Negga as Richard and Mildred Loving, a Virginia couple who went up to Washington D.C. to get married, then faced intense discrimination in their home state.
7) During an appearance at the Deauville Film Festival, Chloë Grace Moretz told the Hollywood Reporter that she has dropped out of all upcoming projects including Universal’s live action reimagining of The Little Mermaid. She said “I pulled the plug on all my movies because I want to reassess who I am and find myself within my roles again. I’m realizing that I can slow down.”
