William Frederick "Buffalo Bill" Cody (February 26, 1846 – January 10, 1917) was an American scout, bison hunter, and showman. He was born in the Iowa Territory (now the U.S. state of Iowa) in Le Claire but he grew up for several years in his father's hometown in Canada before his family moved to the Kansas Territory.
Buffalo Bill started working at the age of eleven after his father's death, and became a rider for the Pony Express at age 14. During the American Civil War, he served for the Union from 1863 to the end of the war in 1865. Later he served as a civilian scout to the US Army during the Indian Wars, receiving the Medal of Honor in 1872.
One of the most colorful figures of the American Old West, Buffalo Bill started performing in shows that displayed cowboy themes and episodes from the frontier and Indian Wars. He founded his Buffalo Bill's Wild West in 1883, taking his large company on tours throughout the United States and, beginning in 1887, in Great Britain and Europe.
The Buffalo Bill Museum, located in LeClaire, Iowa, is focused on life along the Mississippi River and local history.
One exhibit is the Lone Star, a wooden, paddlewheel steam-powered towboat that is housed in a special pier. Local history exhibits include the story of famous people from LeClaire, including American West showman Buffalo Bill Cody, engineer James Buchanan Eads and inventor James Ryan.
Professor James J. “Crash” Ryan (1903-1973), a professor of mechanical engineering at the University of Minnesota was the inventor of the “Flight Recorder” invented in 1953; see U.S. Patent 2,959,459. The aviation recorder was initially named the “General Mills Flight Recorder” and later the "Ryan Flight Data Recorder". In December 1959, Professor Ryan filed a second patent application for a “Coding Apparatus for Flight Recorders and the Like” approved as U.S. Patent 3,075,192 on January 22, 1963. An early prototype of the Ryan Flight Data Recorder is on display at the museum as described in the January 2013 Aviation History Magazine article "Father of the Black Box" by Scott M. Fisher.

Tar du väskan på cykeln
Kan jag komma med dig
Har du tagit med nyckeln
Som du lovade mig
Ska vi gå till din stuga
Den är helt obebodd
Jag kan sitta och ljuga
Att jag är Robin Hood
Jag gör allt vad du säger
Jag gör allt vad du vill
Jag är tokig i tjejer
Jag är din Buffalo Bill
När du satt dig tillrätta
Kan jag tända en eld
Jag kan kanske berätta
Hur jag var Wilhelm Tell
Har du svårt för att sova
För att natten är lång
Kan du be Casanova
Att han sjunger en sång
Jag gör allt vad du säger
Jag gör allt vad du vill
Jag är tokig i tjejer
Jag är din Buffalo Bill
Jag måste ljuga och spela en roll
Annars kammar jag noll
I din ensliga stuga
Oh! Jag gör vad jag kan
Men du har trumf på din hand
Du protesterar om jag inte är tuff
Så du sväljer den bluff
Som jag producerar
Oh! Jag gör vad du vill
Oh! Ibland lite till
Du kan lätt nonchalera
Att min panna är blond
Då kan du fantisera
Att jag är Mr. Bond
Hör hur huvudet snurrar
När jag är desperat
Se hur ögonen snurrar
Som en spelautomat
Jag gör allt vad du säger
Jag gör allt vad du vill
Jag är tokig i tjejer
Jag är din Buffalo Bill
lalalalalalala lalalalalalala
lalalalalalala lalalalalalala
Oh! Ge mig chansen
att va naturell
Får jag vara mig själv
kan vi minska distansen
Som finns mellan oss
Du får börja förstås
För det finns inga stunder
när jag är som ett kart
Jag kan inte se klart
om hoppet går under
Oh! Jag gör som du vill
Oh! Ibland lite till
Jag gör allt vad du säger
Jag gör allt vad du vill
Jag är tokig i tjejer
Jag är din Buffalo Bill
Jag gör allt vad du säger
Jag gör allt vad du vill
Jag är tokig i tjejer
Jag är din Buffalo Bill
Oh! Jag gör som du vill
Oh! Ibland lite till
