原住民族電視台 (
Taiwan Indigenous TV)於3月2日起於每周日晚間9點播出每周一集之國際新聞報導節目「
Mata!看天下」,「Mata」為台灣阿美族等各族語「眼睛」之意,也與太平洋其他島民所講的族語雷同。本節目將報導與全球原住民族相關的新聞,期盼打開民眾的視野,以不同的觀點看世界。
節目中將透過親自採訪、與世界各原住民族電視台以及各知名通訊社合作,匯整、分析各國原住民族現況。新聞類別囊括與各國原住民族相關之政治、經濟、教育、土地、醫療、藝術、文化、語言傳承、氣候變遷以及人道危機等。尤其將特別鎖定南、北太平洋地區南島民族的相關報導,凸顯台灣原住民族電視台區域性的特色。

Kolas Yotaka為台灣阿美族人,來自花蓮玉里Halawan部落,為原住民族電視台資深記者、主播。東海大學社會學研究所碩士班畢業後即任職於公共電視、民視、商業週刊(數位周刊)、哈佛商業評論,於2005年起加入台灣原住民族電視台。

"Mata! To
See the World!" which will be launched in March is a weekly news magazine shows which focuses on the indigenous peoples all over the world.

Kolas Yotaka is descended from
Pangcah(a.k.a.
Amis), one of the 14 officially recognized indigenous nations in Taiwan. She is the producer and anchor for
TITV, the first indigenous TV in
Asia based in Taiwan. Each Sunday, she hosts the news program "Mata!To See the World", TITV's weekly flagship one-hour program that features in-depth stories of the global indigenous communities.
Kolas Yotaka joined TITV in
2005, she has been with TITV for more than 9 years, anchoring multiple news and reporting on stories including national and international indigenous news. She was also the chief of domestic news desk in 2005-2012.
In
2006 she became the anchor and producer of SINPONG, the leading national indigenous daily news, she is the winner (
2007) and the nominee (2008,
2011,
2012) of
Excellent Journalism
Award. Additionally, Kolas started to produce the documentaries in 2011 and she won the
Silver Drum Award of
Nepal International Indigenous Film Festival in
2013 with the documentary "The
Death of Wufeng".
Prior to TITV, since
1999~2005 Kolas worked for
PTS,
FTV,
Business Weekly and
Harvard Business Review (
Chinese Version) as reporter covering educational, business and the indigenous stories. To date Kolas has interviewed many influential political leaders including: WU
Den-yih, the vice president of Taiwan,
R.O.C.;
Lee Teng-hui ,former
Taiwan President;
Ludwig Scotty, former
President of
Republic of Nauru; Ovide Mecredi and Phil Fontain, the national chiefs of
First Nation Assembly; Turiana Turia , the coleader of
Maori Party and

Permanent Forum on Indigenous

Kolas is from Halawan in Hualien and spent much of her childhood in
Taichung and
Hsinchu. After she got her
Master's degree of Sociology from Tunghai Universtiy in 1999, she moved to
Taipei City.
