20/20 Part 1: The gunman, the hero teacher and other details of the Sandy Hook Elementary School shooting.
Adam Lanza of Newtown, Connecticut was a child of the suburbs and a child of divorce who at age 20 still lived with his mother.
This morning he appears to have started his day by shooting his mother Nancy in the face, and then drove her car to nearby Sandy Hook Elementary School, armed with two handguns and a semi-automatic rifle.
There, before turning his gun on himself, he shot and killed 20 children, who President Obama later described as "beautiful little kids" between five and 10 years of age. Six adults were also killed at the school. Nancy Lanza was found dead in her home.
A relative told ABC News that Adam was "obviously not well."
Family friends in Newtown also described the young man as troubled and described Nancy as rigid. "[Adam] was not connected with the other kids," said Barbara Frey, who also said he was "a little bit different ... Kind of repressed."
State and federal authorities believe his mother may have once worked at the elementary school where Adam went on his deadly rampage, although she was not a teacher, according to relatives, perhaps a volunteer.
Nancy and her husband Peter, Adam's father, divorced in 2009. When they first filed for divorce in 2008, a judge ordered that they participate in a "parenting education program."
Peter Lanza, who drove to northern New Jersey to talk to police and the FBI, is a vice president at GE Capital and had been a partner at global accounting giant Ernst & Young.
Adam's older brother Ryan Lanza, 24, has worked at Ernst & Young for four years, apparently following in his father's footsteps and carving out a solid niche in the tax practice. He too was interviewed by the FBI. Neither he nor his father is under any suspicion.
"[Ryan] is a tax guy and he is clean as a whistle," a source familiar with his work said.
Police had initially identified Ryan as the killer. Ryan sent out a series of Facebook posts saying it wasn't him and that he was at work all day. Video records as well as card swipes at Ernst & Young verified his statement that he had been at the office.
Two federal sources told ABC News that identification belonging to Ryan Lanza was found at the scene of the mass shooting. They say that identification may have led to the confusion by authorities during the first hours after the shooting. Neither Adam nor Ryan has any known criminal history.
A Sig Sauer handgun and a Glock handgun were used in the slaying and .223 shell casings -- a round used in a semi-automatic military-style rifle -- were also found at the scene. Nancy Lanza had numerous weapons registered to her, including a Glock and a Sig Sauer. She also owned a Bushmaster rifle -- a semi-automatic carbine chambered for a .223 caliber round. However, federal authorities cannot confirm that the handguns or the rifle were the weapons recovered at the school.
Numerous relatives of the Lanzas in New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, as well as multiple friends, are being interviewed by the FBI in an effort to put together a better picture of the gunman and any explanation for today's tragedy.
"I think the most important thing to point out with this kind of individual is that he did not snap this morning and decide to act out violently," said former FBI profiler Mary Ellen O'Toole. "These acts involve planning and thoughtfulness and strategizing in order to put the plan together so what may appear to be snap behavior is not that at all."

Connecticut (

State and federal authorities believe his mother may have once worked at the elementary school where Adam went on his deadly rampage, although she was not a teacher, according to relatives, perhaps a volunteer.
Nancy and her husband Peter, Adam's father, divorced in 2009. When they first filed for divorce in 2008, a judge ordered that they participate in a "parenting education program."

Adam's older brother Ryan Lanza, 24, has worked at Ernst & Young for four years, apparently following in his father's footsteps and carving out a solid niche in the tax practice. He too was interviewed by the FBI. Neither he nor his father is under any suspicion.
"[Ryan] is a tax guy and he is clean as a whistle," a source familiar with his work said.
Police had initially identified Ryan as the killer. Ryan sent out a series of Facebook posts saying it wasn't him and that he was at work all day. Video records as well as card swipes at Ernst & Young verified his statement that he had been at the office.
Two federal sources told ABC News that identification belonging to Ryan Lanza was found at the scene of the mass shooting. They say that identification may have led to the confusion by authorities during the first hours after the shooting. Neither Adam nor Ryan has any known criminal history.
A Sig Sauer handgun and a Glock handgun were used in the slaying and .223 shell casings -- a round used in a semi-automatic military-style rifle -- were also found at the scene. Nancy Lanza had numerous weapons registered to her, including a Glock and a Sig Sauer. She also owned a Bushmaster rifle -- a semi-automatic carbine chambered for a .223 caliber round. However, federal authorities cannot confirm that the handguns or the rifle were the weapons recovered at the school.
Numerous relatives of the Lanzas in New Jersey, Connecticut, Massachusetts, as well as multiple friends, are being interviewed by the FBI in an effort to put together a better picture of the gunman and any explanation for today's tragedy.
"I think the most important thing to point out with this kind of individual is that he did not snap this morning and decide to act out violently," said former FBI profiler Mary Ellen O'Toole. "These acts involve planning and thoughtfulness and strategizing in order to put the plan together so what may appear to be snap behavior is not that at all."

This morning he appears to have started his day by shooting his mother Nancy in the face, and then drove her car to nearby Sandy Hook Elementary School, armed with two handguns and a semi-automatic rifle.
There, before turning his gun on himself, he shot and killed 20 children, who President Obama later described as "beautiful little kids" between five and 10 years of age. Six adults were also killed at the school. Nancy Lanza was found dead in her home.
A relative told ABC News that Adam was "obviously not well."
Family friends in Newtown also described the young man as troubled and described Nancy as rigid. "[Adam] was not connected with the other kids," said Barbara Frey, who also said he was "a little bit different ... Kind of repressed."

1) As yet, we have not seen any concrete evidence that any child died.
2) As yet, parents have not been allowed to see their children.
3) According to the official story, Adam Lanza was found with his older brother's ID, and it was not stolen. However, older brother Ryan--who officials say is very cooperative--claims not to have even seen his brother since 2010. Where would Adam get this ID? And why does such use not qualify as a theft?
4) According to the official story, Adam Lanza was wearing a black outfit with a mask and bulletproof vest. Why would he want to hide his identity, and why would he wear a bulletproof vest, if he planned to kill himself?
5) The medical examiner asserts that all wounds were caused by a rifle or other long weapon, and police/FBI say that the school was littered with .223 (rifle) casings. But Adam Lanza was found dead in the school with only handguns--a rifle was found in the trunk of his car. But then he could not possibly have been firing the rifle, and could not have committed the murders. Who did?
6 ) Joanne Didonato, the principal's secretary, called in sick on Friday--something she rarely does. So presumably, she must have been awfully ill. Yet she then felt well enough to give an interview. "Of all days," she said, emphasizing the strange coincidence.
7) Why were there such persistent reports that Mrs. Lanza was a kindergarten teacher, and that she died at the school, when the new official story is that she was not connected to the school and was killed at home?
8) What happened to the reports of Adam Lanza's girlfriend and another friend missing in New Jersey?
9) What happened to the woodsman in a black jacket and camo pants who was arrested and handcuffed outside the school? He actually shouted to parents, "It wasn't me." Who was he and what was he doing there?
10) What happened to the dark van or SUV that the police surrounded in the parking lot, or the maroon sedan with a blown-out back window they were on the lookout for?
11) Why were parents told on Friday that "if you haven't been reunited with your child by now it's already over"? Does anyone imagine that real parents of real children would simply say, "Okay, the show's over, let's go home now"?
12) Would real parents of real children really be satisfied with (possibly photoshopped) pictures of their children? Wouldn't they demand to see their children one last time firsthand?17) According to the official story, 28 people died but only 1 was wounded. The dead included 20 small, squirmy children--difficult targets even for professionals. How could Adam Lanza achieve such amazingly deadly accuracy, in such a short length of time?

16) Why did a police officer specifically mention, on radio, that "they're coming at me through this wood," followed by a fellow officer saying, "This is it"?

THE MARITIME AQUARIUM EXPERIENCE - NORWALK, CT - Connecticut Travel Tour Guide Zoo Shark Sharks
A day at the Maritime Aquarium in Norwalk, CT with Marc, Cliff and Ahra on a Sunday afternoon in January 2016. Saw the Shark Dive Show where they have a guide in scuba gear actually in the tank with the sharks (and she has a microphone and answers questions as well as giving information on the sharks). Saw the Shark Dive Show where they have a guide in scuba gear actually in the tank with the sharks (and she has a microphone and answers questions as well as giving information on the sharks). Also saw the Touch a Jellyfish and Touch a Ray areas, along with seeing the meerkats, seals, sea turtles and other exhibits. The Maritime Aquarium at Norwalk is located at 10 North Water Street in Norwalk, CT 06854 (203-852-0700). Definitely a fun time. Mystic
Mystic is an historic area of Connecticut, known for its significant seaport. Located on the Mystic River, is the world’s largest maritime museum. The area lends its name to a 1988 film starring Julia Roberts, Mystic Pizza, and as a result, a pizza restaurant in the region has become popular with movie buffs. The Mystic Aquarium is another well-known tourist draw in the area, and is home to beluga whales, sea lions as well as a number of other sea creatures.
Political hub
Found in Hartford, the Connecticut State Capitol Building is the political hub of the state. Completed in 1878, the building is an exquisite example of Victorian Gothic architecture, and has been a National Historic Landmark since 1971.
Burgers the way they should be

Attention Viewers: While this show was originally entitled "Life After Prison: How DO We Cope?", we all agreed to speak also about the NewTown Connecticut shootings at the Sandy Hook Elementary School because it was too powerful a story to ignore. So please do not be confused because my monologue speaks only about prison life. Thank you and here is my introduction to the original topic:
Unfortunately prison life and culture is a reality for more people than you can ever know if you have not been indoctrinated into it firsthand on some level or another.
What many people do not seem to grasp is that when an individual is incarcerated the entire family of that person is affected greatly and the pain can range from mild to severe depending on how close that family and support structure of friends can be.
This particular program is not about judging anyone, because if they have served their time and are trying to assimilate into society in a lawful manner then they deserve to be treated in the same manner as any other law abiding citizen without the stigma of their past constantly hanging over their heads.
On the same token we are not enabling anyone but speaking out on the unseen realities that must be faced most often in a very intimidating way because those of us who do not understand what the world can appear to be to a person who has completed a long bid will most likely not be as understanding as someone who has been through it.
Finding work, especially in this economy, can be a daunting task when you consider that it is so hard for those who have no record of incarceration and even the schooling that puts them ahead of the pack. So many newly released persons seem to feel that it is impossible for them and that the stigma of their bad choices makes it easy to be characterized that when it's time to let anyone go on a job layoff that it will be them because of their being "a bad apple".
Relationships are strained, many who have family and are recently released must depend on them for their fresh start and usually may feel as though they are less than a fully productive person in their transition into their new life and are fearful that this will be thrown in their face when family tensions are stirred and don't want to have the label of being the burden on the family.
Post Traumatic stress Disorder is not a condition reserved for one serving in the military, stress is stress, and while it is a well known fact that many who've served in the military have suffered and have a built in accepted reason for the symptoms of PTSD as opposed to those suffering the same condition are oftentimes viewed as a violent crazy inmate. Let's be real and break these stigmas down to see them for what they are!
Many formerly incarcerated individuals will gravitate toward others who have a record because of the acceptance and automatic built in camaraderie that comes with it and sometimes can be be easily pulled back into the risky behavior depending on how well adjusted their new "friends" are.
Frustrations can be shared just as easily as the common cold especially if one is further along in their adjustment or have a bteer support system when the others do not. Keeping the wrong company in this sensitive time of transition is not a good thing and can hamper or retard their mindset and can actually land them back in the place where they swore they would never return.
Life on all fronts can be like walking a tightrope and most of us who have never had their lives ripped away for years will maybe never understand but this show will definitely be a start.
We here at the LanceScurv Show encourage ALL who wish to share their experiences whether you have been locked down or are a family member or even a friend, all input will be appreciates and will add flavor to the meal of understanding that we hope this show to be.
This night will not be some sterilized or prepared censored offering, but a raw look into the seemingly insurmountable mountains and tough challenges that one will encounter when being freshly released from incarceration on the various federal, state and county institutions.
But in the end after discussing the many trials and tribulations of coming out into the outside world after being locked up we want to delve into the solutions that will give hope to those who feel hopeless because at the end of the day, God woke everyone up for a purpose, even if man's system and way of doing things say something much different.

But in the end after discussing the many trials and tribulations of coming out into the outside world after being locked up we want to delve into the solutions that will give hope to those who feel hopeless because at the end of the day, God woke everyone up for a purpose, even if man's system and way of doing things say something much different.

Your upload to YouTube relative to the Newtown CT Shooting radio traffic has caused quite a stir as it relates to a Mr. Christopher Rodia. I'm not sure where you sourced your feed, but the traffic related to Mr. Rodia is from a 800 MHz six-channel trunked LMR system in use in Greenwich, CT. Greenwich is approximately 45 miles away from Newtown. The Greenwich system carries only municipal Greenwich traffic (public safety and non-public safety) and is in no way connected to the state's 800 MHz trunked system or Newtown's.
I am certain of this because after the matter (and all of the Internet Conspiracy Theory buzz - just google "Christopher Rodia") was brought to our attention, we went back and checked our recordings for December 14. In addition to just recognizing the voices involved as Greenwich Police Officers and Dispatchers, we have all of the audio from our recording system that matches all of the "Rodia" traffic (and some of the other unrelated-to-Newtown casualty call traffic that occurs at the same time.)
In any event, I'm sure you'll want to help clarify this matter. The "Rodia" traffic is definitely contemporaneous - but from miles away. This has unfortunately additionally clouded an already confusing and emotional issue. Worse, it has brought considerable (and wholly undeserved) angst to Mr. Rodia. Anything you can do to help clear this up would certainly be appreciated.

This recording was posted for its educational value in documenting the professional public safety response to a horrible American tragedy. While enlightening access, scanner recordings should not be regarded as the closest form of the truth, nor should interpretations of unintelligible radio traffic gleaned from them. Suggesting that the police and/or media have altered the facts of the event is disrespectful to all those who suffered a loss or participated in the rescue efforts on that day.
The digital noises that are heard throughout the recording are encrypted transmissions. An effort was made to reduce the volume of those transmissions during the recording process. Encryption is used by many police departments as a method of protecting sensitive information from hitting the airwaves. Its use is a sign that tactical procedures necessary for officer safety are being enacted.
There is routine CT State Police and municipal radio traffic taking place during this recording, so not everything heard is related to the incident. There is information about two occupants in a van which was unrelated. There is also speculation that some unintelligible radio traffic that may contain the word "Adam" is referring to the suspect. The word Adam is the police phonetic alphabet for the letter "A", often used as part of a unit identifier.
