One of the main facets of the market economy is that just about anybody can have anything they want as long as they're willing and able to pay the price. But the key words there are "willing and able", so even though we have the right to buy whatever we want, a good chunk of us might not have the ability, mostly for monetary reasons. Take for example video games; video games themselves and the consoles to play them on are, more often than not, beyond expensive, but most kids really enjoy the thought of being able to explore virtual worlds and blow the heads off of anything that tries to kill you and most have a burning desire to be a part of this new craze themselves. That's where Tiger Electronics comes in. A subsidiary of the toy mongrel Hasbro, Tiger Electronics, for many years, managed to satisfy the rapidly expanding video game demands by producing and releasing a whole infestation of very low-quality handheld LCD "games" that somehow gave off the impression that you were holding an actual NES right in the palm of your hands. But the truth is, IT WORKED! Since another main facet to market economy is that the products that people buy the most are the ones that get produced the most, Tiger proceeded to milk their new money grab for all that it was worth, and even tried their hand at releasing whole video game consoles for the sake of it. But there were some who resisted. Despite naming the "Simon's Quest" Tiger adaptation as one of the reasons why Nintendo was superior to Sega (go to Youtube and search "avgn snes vs genesis") when he was just a lad, everyone's favorite angriest, most pissed-off gaming nerd has since recognized the Tiger games for the shallow cash-in attempts that they were and has dedicated a whole episode of his show to tearing them a brand new asshole. So join the Angry Video Game Nerd as he takes a look at what could possibly be considered the worst video games he has ever had the honor of playing, if you could even count them as video games (and for the record Nerd, yes video games are art, go to Youtube and search "nostalgia critic are video games art"). Action 52 was a compilation of games mostly filler and many with similar objectives. Plenty of duplicate titles with very minor differences, the game itself was incredibly broken with many glitches leaving quite a few of the titles unplayable. The main title of the cart being Cheetah men which was intended to feature a possible fresh franchise series that never ended up taking off despite some merchandise and comic books being made. Cheetah men itself was very poorly constructed and contained numerous glitch's such as getting stuck in mid jump on top of poor level design. Plenty of the games on the cart were space shooter's and some games had other issues such as never ending, not being able to win, game freezes, misleading game titles, and numerous other issues which resulted in it's poor reviews. The Angry Video Game Nerd (abbreviated AVGN or The Nerd, formerly known as The Angry Nintendo Nerd) is the main character and title of a web television series of farcical retrogaming video reviews created by and starring James Rolfe. The show generally revolves around retro game reviews that involve bitter rants against games he deems to be of particularly low-quality or poor design. Such games are often associated with movie tie-ins.

The series began as a feature on YouTube, and later joined ScrewAttack Entertainment, which would later have three of its features, including the AVGN, transferred to GameTrailers exclusively. The show, formerly known as The Angry Nintendo Nerd, was renamed because the show started reviewing games on other consoles, and also to prevent any trademark issues with Nintendo.

The Nerd is a short-tempered and foul-mouthed video game fanatic. He derives comic appeal from excessive and inventive use of profanity, frequent displays of explicit gestures, and a habitual consumption of beer (mostly Rolling Rock, but sometimes Yuengling). A particular characteristic, which has become something of a trademark of his character, is for him to describe, in great detail, extremely repulsive and painful, usually firmly scatological acts, and to claim that he would rather endure them than to play the game that he is reviewing. Varying amounts of physical comedy are mixed into the verbal abuses.

One of the main facets of the market economy is that just about anybody can have anything they want as long as they're willing and able to pay the price. But the key words there are "willing and able", so even though we have the right to buy whatever we want, a good chunk of us might not have the ability, mostly for monetary reasons. Take for example video games; video games themselves and the consoles to play them on are, more often than not, beyond expensive, but most kids really enjoy the thought of being able to explore virtual worlds and blow the heads off of anything that tries to kill you and most have a burning desire to be a part of this new craze themselves. That's where Tiger Electronics comes in. A subsidiary of the toy mongrel Hasbro, Tiger Electronics, for many years, managed to satisfy the rapidly expanding video game demands by producing and releasing a whole infestation of very low-quality handheld LCD "games" that somehow gave off the impression that you were holding an actual NES right in the palm of your hands. But the truth is, IT WORKED! Since another main facet to market economy is that the products that people buy the most are the ones that get produced the most, Tiger proceeded to milk their new money grab for all that it was worth, and even tried their hand at releasing whole video game consoles for the sake of it. But there were some who resisted. Despite naming the "Simon's Quest" Tiger adaptation as one of the reasons why Nintendo was superior to Sega (go to Youtube and search "avgn snes vs genesis") when he was just a lad, everyone's favorite angriest, most pissed-off gaming nerd has since recognized the Tiger games for the shallow cash-in attempts that they were and has dedicated a whole episode of his show to tearing them a brand new asshole. So join the Angry Video Game Nerd as he takes a look at what could possibly be considered the worst video games he has ever had the honor of playing, if you could even count them as video games (and for the record Nerd, yes video games are art, go to Youtube and search "nostalgia critic are video games art"). Action 52 was a compilation of games mostly filler and many with similar objectives. Plenty of duplicate titles with very minor differences, the game itself was incredibly broken with many glitches leaving quite a few of the titles unplayable. The main title of the cart being Cheetah men which was intended to feature a possible fresh franchise series that never ended up taking off despite some merchandise and comic books being made. Cheetah men itself was very poorly constructed and contained numerous glitch's such as getting stuck in mid jump on top of poor level design. Plenty of the games on the cart were space shooter's and some games had other issues such as never ending, not being able to win, game freezes, misleading game titles, and numerous other issues which resulted in it's poor reviews. One of the main facets of the market economy is that just about anybody can have anything they want as long as they're willing and able to pay the price. But the key words there are "willing and able", so even though we have the right to buy whatever we want, a good chunk of us might not have the ability, mostly for monetary reasons. Take for example video games; video games themselves and the consoles to play them on are, more often than not, beyond expensive, but most kids really enjoy the thought of being able to explore virtual worlds and blow the heads off of anything that tries to kill you and most have a burning desire to be a part of this new craze themselves. That's where Tiger Electronics comes in. A subsidiary of the toy mongrel Hasbro, Tiger Electronics, for many years, managed to satisfy the rapidly expanding video game demands by producing and releasing a whole infestation of very low-quality handheld LCD "games" that somehow gave off the impression that you were holding an actual NES right in the palm of your hands. But the truth is, IT WORKED! Since another main facet to market economy is that the products that people buy the most are the ones that get produced the most, Tiger proceeded to milk their new money grab for all that it was worth, and even tried their hand at releasing whole video game consoles for the sake of it. But there were some who resisted. Despite naming the "Simon's Quest" Tiger adaptation as one of the reasons why Nintendo was superior to Sega (go to Youtube and search "avgn snes vs genesis") when he was just a lad, everyone's favorite angriest, most pissed-off gaming nerd has since recognized the Tiger games for the shallow cash-in attempts that they were and has dedicated a whole episode of his show to tearing them a brand new asshole. Action 52 was a compilation of games mostly filler and many with similar objectives. Plenty of duplicate titles with very minor differences, the game itself was incredibly broken with many glitches leaving quite a few of the titles unplayable. The main title of the cart being Cheetah men which was intended to feature a possible fresh franchise series that never ended up taking off despite some merchandise and comic books being made. Cheetah men itself was very poorly constructed and contained numerous glitch's such as getting stuck in mid jump on top of poor level design. Plenty of the games on the cart were space shooter's and some games had other issues such as never ending, not being able to win, game freezes, misleading game titles, and numerous other issues which resulted in it's poor reviews. Lex Luthor just trap Superman's friends (Lois, Jimmy, and Professor Hamilton) into Virtual Really. Superman has no choice to enter Virtual Really to save his friends. You play as Superman and it's your job to fly throw Rings in the first level. Then later you have to pick up cars before they run over people. Then you have to fly throw more Rings. It isn't a bad game is it? Many fans were split by the decision of taking a beloved overhead adventure game and making it a side scroller. In this episode the Nerd picks up his sword and shield to go on an adventure into Hyrule. We'll see the Nerd give his honest opinion on Zelda 2 as he fights to the end, but can he beat it? Watch him rage as he dukes it out with Moblins, collects bags of Pee, travel treacherous terrain and after all that get some "hot coffee" from grateful townsfolk. Originally released in Japan in 1987 on the Family Computer Disk System and 1988 on the Nintendo Entertainment System in both America and Europe, Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link was the first and only official side scrolling Zelda game in the series. Going on to become known as one of the worst, if not the worst Zelda games amongst fans due to its radical change and difficulty from the previous Zelda game. Series creator Shigeru Miyamoto said in an interview that whilst he didn't think Zelda 2 was a "bad game", he thought that they (Nintendo) could have made it a better experience but were held back by hardware limitations. To this day the Zelda franchise has experimented with different ideas over the years, with Zelda 2 being one of the more drastic but necessary steps into making one of the most beloved franchises of all time. One of the main facets of the market economy is that just about anybody can have anything they want as long as they're willing and able to pay the price. But the key words there are "willing and able", so even though we have the right to buy whatever we want, a good chunk of us might not have the ability, mostly for monetary reasons. Take for example video games; video games themselves and the consoles to play them on are, more often than not, beyond expensive, but most kids really enjoy the thought of being able to explore virtual worlds and blow the heads off of anything that tries to kill you and most have a burning desire to be a part of this new craze themselves. That's where Tiger Electronics comes in. A subsidiary of the toy mongrel Hasbro, Tiger Electronics, for many years, managed to satisfy the rapidly expanding video game demands by producing and releasing a whole infestation of very low-quality handheld LCD "games" that somehow gave off the impression that you were holding an actual NES right in the palm of your hands. But the truth is, IT WORKED! Since another main facet to market economy is that the products that people buy the most are the ones that get produced the most, Tiger proceeded to milk their new money grab for all that it was worth, and even tried their hand at releasing whole video game consoles for the sake of it. But there were some who resisted. Despite naming the "Simon's Quest" Tiger adaptation as one of the reasons why Nintendo was superior to Sega (go to Youtube and search "avgn snes vs genesis") when he was just a lad, everyone's favorite angriest, most pissed-off gaming nerd has since recognized the Tiger games for the shallow cash-in attempts that they were and has dedicated a whole episode of his show to tearing them a brand new asshole. So join the Angry Video Game Nerd as he takes a look at what could possibly be considered the worst video games he has ever had the honor of playing, if you could even count them as video games (and for the record Nerd, yes video games are art, go to Youtube and search "nostalgia critic are video games art"). Action 52 was a compilation of games mostly filler and many with similar objectives. Plenty of duplicate titles with very minor differences, the game itself was incredibly broken with many glitches leaving quite a few of the titles unplayable. The main title of the cart being Cheetah men which was intended to feature a possible fresh franchise series that never ended up taking off despite some merchandise and comic books being made. Cheetah men itself was very poorly constructed and contained numerous glitch's such as getting stuck in mid jump on top of poor level design. Plenty of the games on the cart were space shooter's and some games had other issues such as never ending, not being able to win, game freezes, misleading game titles, and numerous other issues which resulted in it's poor reviews. Usually at a friends house or using stealth when it was past your bed time... You loved the unnecessary violence, worshipped the swearing and winced at the gore. These were more then just stock action films, many like Terminator, Running Man and Total Recall had elements of sci-fi noir... Our minds were just blown. This was our right of passage, a first step into a larger world. Game developers were savvy to this fact, and so came the adaptions of his classics onto home consoles for the supposed 'oblivious' kids to play. It isn't a bad game is it? Many fans were split by the decision of taking a beloved overhead adventure game and making it a side scroller. In this episode the Nerd picks up his sword and shield to go on an adventure into Hyrule. We'll see the Nerd give his honest opinion on Zelda 2 as he fights to the end, but can he beat it? Watch him rage as he dukes it out with Moblins, collects bags of Pee, travel treacherous terrain and after all that get some "hot coffee" from grateful townsfolk. Originally released in Japan in 1987 on the Family Computer Disk System and 1988 on the Nintendo Entertainment System in both America and Europe, Zelda 2: The Adventure of Link was the first and only official side scrolling Zelda game in the series. Going on to become known as one of the worst, if not the worst Zelda games amongst fans due to its radical change and difficulty from the previous Zelda game. Series creator Shigeru Miyamoto said in an interview that whilst he didn't think Zelda 2 was a "bad game", he thought that they (Nintendo) could have made it a better experience but were held back by hardware limitations. To this day the Zelda franchise has experimented with different ideas over the years, with Zelda 2 being one of the more drastic but necessary steps into making one of the most beloved franchises of all time.
