Being a composer wasn't an accident... In 1996, at the age of 17, I moved to Mumbai ... Let's Give Love A Chance' (lyrically inspired by John Lennon's 'Give Peace A Chance') along with original lyrics and minimal use of a dholak and guitar....

Pune. Jayawant Utpat took to the path of creative experimentation to help ease the tremendous hardship of carrying several percussion instruments. His labour of love is a percussion synthesizer called Jaysonik, which produces authentic sounds of tabla, dafli and dholak, apart from other percussion-based instruments. According to Utpat, Jaysonik has been specifically designed keeping Indian percussion instruments in mind ... RELATED....

The composition structures and lyrics are way too linear for any kind of creativity to find any crevice, or give that shining moment in the album ... Percussion dominates the song with dholak, bhapang, drums and turntables segueing at various points ... ....

A sudden roll of drums announces the arrival of the dholaki who then starts to chant the news of the month at the top of his lungs. I stare at the hunky, bronzed man with a huge dholak slung across his shoulders, cupping his hands around his mouth and shouting about some stolen horses, a marriage and other news.
