Geller’s group recently submitted the winning cartoon to run as an advertisement on buses and trains in the Washington, D.C. area. “To carry this forward and take the cartoon that you know is found offensive, especially by extremist types, and make it more public, why is this a good thing to do?” Cuomo asked Geller in an interview on Thursday. According to Geller, the American people needed to see that the media were “self-enforcing the Sharia” law. “Nobody is saying you don’t have the right to draw Muhammad or to put a picture of Muhammad anywhere you want,” Cuomo noted. “Often that gets confused here. People say, ‘You’re chilling her First Amendment rights.’ How so? No one is saying you don’t have the right. They are saying, ‘Is it right? Should you do this?’ Not, ‘Can you?'” “There’s no such thing as ‘I believe in freedom of speech but,'” Geller replied. “The criticism is, what you did [in Texas], you knew would be very provocative,” Cuomo argued. “Your keynote speaker is an outspoken and provocative person who is obviously an Islamophobe. So that was something that you knew that would draw negative attention and then you got negative attention.” “What you did was calculated in a way that would be provocative,” the CNN host continued. “This isn’t about not showing it because we’re afraid, it’s about whether it is right or not. (Mediaite) Hours after a shooting at a Muhammed cartoon event Garland, Texas that left three dead, including the gunmen, the event’s sponsor and American Freedom Defense Initiative president Pamela Geller battled CNN’s Alisyn Camerota over whether the incendiary event had provoked violence. “Increasingly, we’re abridging our freedoms so as not to offend savages,” Geller alleged. “The very idea that if something offends me, or I’m insulted by something I’ll kill you and somehow this is okay with members of the elite media, and academia, is outrageous.” Camerota read from the keynote speech given at the event disparaging Islam. Geller has made a career of warning of the “Islamization” of America; the Southern Poverty Law Center lists her as an extremist. “He’s entitled to his opinion, end of story,” Geller said. “So what? So he said that. And frankly, what he said was true…The fact is that we need to have this discussion, there’s a problem in Islam.” The conversation devolved into whether Geller had ever called Muslims “savages,” which she said she had done once in her life. She argued she criticized only Muslims who kill over their beliefs. “I am anti-jihad, I am anti-Sharia,” Geller said. “You, by spaying I paint with a broad brush, are saying all Muslims support jihad. Alisyn you sound very Islamaphobic.” It was that type of segment. “The fact that we have to spend upwards of $50,000 in security speaks to how dangerous and how in trouble freedom of speech is in this country,” Geller said. “And then we have to get on these news shows, and somehow we are, those that are targeted, those that were going to be slaughtered, are the ones who get attacked speaks to how morally inverted this conversation is.” “This is not an attack,” Camerota replied, pointing out that they were at that moment having the exact conversation over speech and piety Geller had been calling for. Garland Shooting: Elton Simpson is Suspect in Attack at Muhammad Carton Drawing in Texas |VIDEO One of the suspects in the shooting in Garland, Texas, late Sunday has been identified as Elton Simpson, an Arizona man who was previously the subject of a terror investigation, according to a senior FBI official. (ABC News) Overnight and today FBI agents and a bomb squad were at Simpson's home in an apartment complex in north Phoenix where a robot is believed to be conducting an initial search of the apartment. Officials believe Simpson is the person who sent out several Twitter messages prior to the attack on Sunday, in the last one using the hashtag #TexasAttack about half an hour before the shooting.

Die Täter waren Radikale, die sich auf den Koran beriefen und eine Veranstaltung stürmten, bei der Mohammed-Karikaturen um ein Preisgeld kämpften. Was der SPIEGEL nicht aufdröselt ist, wer diese Preisverleihung initiiert hatte - die rechtsradikale Pamela Geller. Geller wurde dutzendfach im Manifest vom norwegischen Attentäter Breivik zitiert. Zur Zeit des Anschlages in Texas war der niederländische Rechtspopulist Geert Wilders Ehrengast. Dieses tiefbraune Umfeld ist dem SPIEGEL entweder entgangen, oder aber nicht wert, entsprechend erörtert zu werden. KenFM wurde zum ersten Mal am Samstag, dem 28. April 2001, von 6 bis 10 Uhr aus einem Modegeschäft in der Marienstraße in Berlin-Mitte gesendet. Die Radiosendung hat mehrmals den Ort gewechselt. Stationen nach dem Modegeschäft waren die Peugeot Avenue (Unter den Linden, Berlin-Mitte), Mini-Berlin (Friedrichstraße, Berlin-Mitte) und das Sony Center (Potsdamer Platz und Berlin-Tiergarten). Jede Woche wurde mindestens eine Musikgruppe vorgestellt, die einige Titel live vortrug. Gelegentlich wurden Schriftsteller, Poetry-Slammer oder andere Künstler aus dem Bereich Alternative eingeladen. Zuletzt sendete KenFM jeden Sonntagnachmittag von 14 bis 18 Uhr aus den Fritz-Studios in Potsdam-Babelsberg. Zu gelegentlichen Live-Sendungen von anderen Orten kamen aufgezeichnete Sendungen von Ereignissen, die live nicht in die vier Stunden Sendezeit passten oder nicht an einem Sonntag stattfanden. Seit Ende Januar 2006 wurden Ausschnitte aus der Radioshow als Podcast angeboten. Ab Ende März 2006 wurde das Angebot des KenFM-Podcasts um die Playlist auf fritz.de erweitert. Eine Band wurde während ihres Auftrittes gefilmt, ein Video vom Auftritt plus ein Interview mit der Band/den Bandmitgliedern wurde in den Tagen nach dem Auftritt bei FritzTV auf fritz.de veröffentlicht. Außerdem existiert ein YouTube-Channel mit der Bezeichnung 'KenFM2008', auf welchem aufgezeichnete Beträge zu finden sind.
