The provincial government has also ordered for withdrawal of notification issued on March 13 by Secretary Department of Literacy and Informal Education in connection with continuation of the programme. The terminated posts under the Parha Likha Programme include those of Project Director, Director Research and Training, Director Administration, Deputy Directors, Procurement Officer, System Analyst, District Literacy Officer Mobiles, computer operators and others. http://www.geo.tv/home/16485.htm Shabaaaaash. It is ridiculous to blame it on the victors of these elections in punjab when they have not even been allowed to take oath until now....... 0 A adonis 8 years ago A glaring omission from the list of deeds of dictators against civil servants: ---- The only civilian martial law administrator of Pakistan, Zulfiqar Ali Bhutto sacked 1303 civil servants under martial law regulations in 1972 !!!! 0 A asif 8 years ago Brothers, we are here hoping to get relief from some of the politicians who we love. But what happens after sometime they by themselves start blaming the previous regime even for the current failures. This will not end until & unless we can get rid of a group "fear-mongers" which is possible only with justice-driven courts. Let hope the justice-driven courts would no more be a myth but a reality. Besides, anybody who has ben to punjab can see for himself that this parha likha punjab thing is just a sham ................... This free schooling and free books is just a myth for propaganda purposes.......... This is not how you look at or decide on things, "oh its not working, its a sham" Where is the quantitative assessment? Where is the study? What figures did you use? What's your source? I personally do not know about Punjab and Parha Likha Punjab, but, the overall education picture has improved significantly since 1999. Literacy rate increased by 6%. Number of annual graduates, number of phds, funding provided to educational instituitions, school enrolment levels, no. of professors and lecturers at universities, all these have increased manifold. Read the reports by UNDP and the UN millenium development goals.
