The White Lady
The White Lady is a rock painting, located on a panel, also depicting other art work, on a small rock overhang, deep within Brandberg Mountain. The giant granite monolith located in Damaraland and called 'The Brandberg' is Namibia's highest mountain. Its German name is Weiße Dame.
The painting has long been an archaeological dilemma, and several different hypotheses have been put forth on its origins, authorship and dating. It is now usually accepted to be a bushmen painting, dating back at least 2000 years ago.
Location and description
The "White Lady" archaeological site is located close to the road from Khorixas to Hentie's Bay, in the area of Uis, on the Brandberg Massif. The Brandberg itself hosts over 1.000 bushmen paintings, scattered around in rock shelters and caves. The "White Lady Group" is found in a cave known as "Maack Shelter" and portrays several human figures as well as oryxes, on a rock panel measuring about 5.5 m x 1.5 m. The "White Lady" is the most detailed human figure in the group, and measures about 39.5 cm x 29 cm. To reach The White Lady it is necessary to hike for about 45-60 minutes over rough terrain, along the gorge of the - normally - dry Tsisab river.
The White Lady (Ireland)
The White Lady is an unusual standing stone, said to resemble a figure, located near the small fishing village of Dunmore East,in County Waterford, Ireland.
The standing stone is situated in open farmland overlooking the sea, between the small coves of Rathmoylan and Ballymacaw.
It is believed that the name White Lady is due to the standing stone having been whitewashed, or possibly painted white, at some point, although no traces of this remain. The purpose of the stone is not fully understood, it may have been erected as a marker to guide local fishermen, or it could have been an ancient symbolic or religious monument.

Adrian Caesar (born 1955) is an Australian author and poet.
Caesar was born in Manchester, United Kingdom and emigrated to Australia in 1982. He studied at Reading University and has held appointments at various Australian universities, including the Australian National University and the University of New South Wales' School of Humanities and Social Sciences.
Writing
Caesar is the author of several books, including the prize-winning non-fiction novel The White based on the Antarctic exploration of Robert F. Scott and Douglas Mawson from 1911 to 1913. His poems have been widely published and his 2005 poetry collection High Wire was shortlisted for the 2007 Judith Wright Prize.

Age of the Five is a trilogy of fantasy novels by Trudi Canavan, an Australian writer born in 1969. The fictional series recounts the story of Auraya, a young priestess who, after rising to the highest rank in her world's religious hierarchy, subsequently discovers that the gods she worships are significantly different entities from those in whom she was originally taught to believe.
Plot synopsis
Age of the Five is set in a universe overseen by a pantheon of five gods (the Five) who are the only apparent survivors of the War of the Gods. Before this war, it is understood that hundreds of gods existed on Earth. The Five control the destiny of the northern half of the world through a priesthood known as the White (the Five's five representatives in the human world, Ithania). In southern Ithania live opponents of the White, who claim to worship five different gods (known as the Voices of the Gods). Both factions vie for control over their opponents, and eventually engage in war.

Kalanchoe tetraphylla (also known as paddle plant, flapjacks, desert cabbage, white lady, geelplakkie, meelplakkie, or plakkie ) is a species of Kalanchoe native to South Africa. A succulent plant producing a stalk about 1m tall, dying back after flowering. It forms a basal rosette of large, rounded, fleshy, stalkless leaves, which are grayish-green with red margins, covered with a white powdery bloom. The inflorescence is terminal and erect with densely clustered thyrse-like panicles of greenish waxy flowers with yellow recurved lobes, narrowly urn-shaped. The plant flowers from autumn to spring, and is common in grassveld amongst rocks.
