The Rose Parade, also known as the Tournament of Roses and the Rose Parade presented by Honda, is part of "America's New Year Celebration" held in Pasadena, California each year on New Year's Day (or on Monday, January 2 if New Year's Day falls on a Sunday). The parade includes flower-covered floats, marching bands, and equestrian units and is followed by the Rose Bowl college football game. It is produced by the nonprofit Pasadena Tournament of Roses Association.
Originally started on January 1, 1890, the Rose Parade is watched in person by hundreds of thousands of spectators on the parade route, and is broadcast on multiple television networks in the United States. It is seen by millions more on television worldwide in more than 100 international territories and countries. The Rose Bowl is a college football game that was added in 1902 to help fund the cost of staging the parade. Since 2011, the parade has been sponsored by Honda. Accordingly, the company has the parade's first float, which like all floats, follows the parade's theme.
Steven Paul "Elliott" Smith (August 6, 1969 – October 21, 2003) was an American singer, songwriter, and musician. Smith was born in Omaha, Nebraska, raised primarily in Texas, and lived for much of his life in Portland, Oregon, where he first gained popularity. Smith's primary instrument was the guitar, though he was also proficient with piano, clarinet, bass guitar, drums, and harmonica. Smith had a distinctive vocal style, characterized by his "whispery, spiderweb-thin delivery", and used multi-tracking to create vocal layers, textures, and harmonies.
After playing in the rock band Heatmiser for several years, Smith began his solo career in 1994, with releases on the independent record labels Cavity Search and Kill Rock Stars (KRS). In 1997, he signed a contract with DreamWorks Records, for which he recorded two albums. Smith rose to mainstream prominence when his song "Miss Misery"—included in the soundtrack for the film Good Will Hunting (1997)—was nominated for an Oscar in the Best Original Song category in 1998.

The Nebraska Tourism Commission partnered with RFD-TV during the 125th Rose Parade to promote Nebraska and agri/eco-tourism. The partnership included a RFD-TV sponsored float, interviews and commercial spots played during the RFD-TV pre-parade show. During the broadcast, there was a significant spike in requests for Nebraska travel guides and a high increase in hits on the Commission's website. This video material cannot be used either in part or its entirety without the expressed written consent of Nebraska Tourism.

Okay this it
It seems to me that I need a break from you, from myself
It don't matter no more now who's to tell
Everybody may think I'm wrong
But I'm the one who'll be laughing 'till the break-o-dawn
Gotta plan, his name is Stan
Believe it or not he dealt me a real good hand
Well you know I don't mind where this plane may take me
'Cause I ain't got no worries, I'm ready
Gotta run, gotta get away
Come back on another day
Tomorrow ain't so far away
I'll be smooth like butter baby
Hey man! Here I am
Away from the city
And its urban sounds
Snap shot! Feet in the sand
Can't stop laughing even when the sun's gone down
Some say this way
I guess I'll make my mind up on another day
So Stan, what's the plan?
Have you come around
To deal me another hand?
Well ou know I don't mind the walking
And I certainly don't mind the running
