The 2016 Jeep Grand Cherokee continues to provide the styling and image made famous over 25 years as a best-selling SUV. Despite some questionable reliability and a powertrain warranty demotion from 100,000 miles to 60,000, Jeep continues to provide a good-looking and trail-ready SUV: as Chris Wardlaw puts it, the Grand Cherokee is a “rolling representation of freedom, an escape pod from the daily grind.”

Hi, welcome to the luxury car report. Today we’re gonna review Jeep’s ultimate luxury SUV, the Jeep Grand Cherokee. This award winning vehicle has a new iteration for 2016 and we’re gonna tell you everything about it.
So what’s under the hood? The Jeep we drove is equipped with the 3 liter EcoDiesel engine that got the Grand Cherokee the Green SUV of the Year award from Green Car Journal and gets up to 30 mpg highway. It is furthermore available with the 3.6L V6 Pentastar which delivers 17 mpg city and 25 mpg highway, the Hemi V8 which gets 14 city and 22 highway miles and finally the ultimate SRT8 version with an EPA rating of 13 city and 19 highway.
What really sets the Jeep Grand Cherokee apart from all other SUV’s, is its unique mixture of a hyper-luxurious interior with high-quality materials and a car stuffed with the newest technological gizmos, together with a 4x4 platform that is actually capable of conquering the roughest trails around.
While Jeep’s Wrangler remains the true off-road legend, it is not the sweetest treat to drive on-road. Jeep has found an unexpectedly well-balanced compromise in the Grand Cherokee. It doesn’t feel rough at all, but very smooth. It has sound-insulating lamented glass and a suspension that you can set to comfortably soften out the bumps in the asphalt. Should you start to miss the outside world, you can open up the large optional CommandView sunroof.
Since we’re talking Jeep, we’re talking Selec-Terrain. This proprietary 4x4 system provides 5 modes to tackle different weather conditions and driving surfaces. The Quadra-Lift air suspension brings your Jeep up to the right level of ground clearance! Going off-road with your vehicle gives a huge fun factor, so if you’re planning on buying an SUV anyway, we’d definitely recommend to consider this real 4x4! Why stick to the road when there are so many other interesting surfaces to drive on?
Is it safe?? With its side curtain airbags, blind spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control with forward collision warning, I’d definitely say “yes”! Another surprising feature we found while using the backup camera: it actually warns you when a vehicle is passing from behind, even with high speed!
And all that was being enjoyed in the royal luxury of premium leather with accented stitching, real exotic open-pore wood and a suede-like headliner. And the sunroof, of course. And did we mention that the Jeep Grand Cherokee’s Harman Kardon audio system drives 19 speakers? No? 19 speakers!
So, what is our conclusion? First of all, this SUV has so many features that you sure need to check it out at the dealership to get to know all of them, it will amaze you. As for the driving experience: the Jeep Grand Cherokee buys you a top-of-the-line luxury SUV with a unique excitement of true off-roading. Why settle for less?

All-American off-road firm Jeep is part of the larger Chrysler organisation, which has been through a turbulent few years. First the company parted ways with Mercedes-Benz, then the recession hit the firm harder than most, but now Chrysler's future is looking a lot more stable under Fiat ownership. The Jeep Grand Cherokee is something of a transition model, as it uses a platform that's shared with the Mercedes-Benz M-Class, but it's powered by a 3.0-litre V6 diesel that was developed by Fiat.

Today we’re gonna review Jeep’s ultimate luxury SUV, the Jeep Grand Cherokee. This award winning vehicle has a new iteration for 2016 and we’re gonna tell you everything about it. So what’s under the hood? The Jeep we drove is equipped with the 3 liter EcoDiesel engine that got the Grand Cherokee the Green SUV of the Year award from Green Car Journal and gets up to 30 mpg highway. It is furthermore available with the 3.6L V6 Pentastar which delivers 17 mpg city and 25 mpg highway, the Hemi V8 which gets 14 city and 22 highway miles and finally the ultimate SRT8 version with an EPA rating of 13 city and 19 highway. What really sets the Jeep Grand Cherokee apart from all other SUV’s, is its unique mixture of a hyper-luxurious interior with high-quality materials and a car stuffed with the newest technological gizmos, together with a 4x4 platform that is actually capable of conquering the roughest trails around. While Jeep’s Wrangler remains the true off-road legend, it is not the sweetest treat to drive on-road. Jeep has found an unexpectedly well-balanced compromise in the Grand Cherokee. It doesn’t feel rough at all, but very smooth. It has sound-insulating lamented glass and a suspension that you can set to comfortably soften out the bumps in the asphalt. Should you start to miss the outside world, you can open up the large optional CommandView sunroof. Since we’re talking Jeep, we’re talking Selec-Terrain. This proprietary 4x4 system provides 5 modes to tackle different weather conditions and driving surfaces. The Quadra-Lift air suspension brings your Jeep up to the right level of ground clearance! Going off-road with your vehicle gives a huge fun factor, so if you’re planning on buying an SUV anyway, we’d definitely recommend to consider this real 4x4! Why stick to the road when there are so many other interesting surfaces to drive on? Is it safe?? With its side curtain airbags, blind spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control with forward collision warning, I’d definitely say “yes”! Another surprising feature we found while using the backup camera: it actually warns you when a vehicle is passing from behind, even with high speed! And all that was being enjoyed in the royal luxury of premium leather with accented stitching, real exotic open-pore wood and a suede-like headliner. And the sunroof, of course. And did we mention that the Jeep Grand Cherokee’s Harman Kardon audio system drives 19 speakers? No? 19 speakers! So, what is our conclusion? First of all, this SUV has so many features that you sure need to check it out at the dealership to get to know all of them, it will amaze you. A 295-hp, 3.6-liter V6 should deliver 21 miles per gallon combined thanks to its 8-speed automatic transmission, and a lowered “aero mode” suspension setting and the vehicle's tight turning radius are blessings for anyone too accustomed to 3-point turns. The Overland trim, shown here, includes a 19-speaker sound system, an easy to use infotainment display with drag-and-drop buttons, and an impressive advanced technology package. Hi, welcome to the luxury car report. Today we’re gonna review Jeep’s ultimate luxury SUV, the Jeep Grand Cherokee. This award winning vehicle has a new iteration for 2016 and we’re gonna tell you everything about it.
So what’s under the hood? The Jeep we drove is equipped with the 3 liter EcoDiesel engine that got the Grand Cherokee the Green SUV of the Year award from Green Car Journal and gets up to 30 mpg highway. It is furthermore available with the 3.6L V6 Pentastar which delivers 17 mpg city and 25 mpg highway, the Hemi V8 which gets 14 city and 22 highway miles and finally the ultimate SRT8 version with an EPA rating of 13 city and 19 highway.
What really sets the Jeep Grand Cherokee apart from all other SUV’s, is its unique mixture of a hyper-luxurious interior with high-quality materials and a car stuffed with the newest technological gizmos, together with a 4x4 platform that is actually capable of conquering the roughest trails around.
While Jeep’s Wrangler remains the true off-road legend, it is not the sweetest treat to drive on-road. Jeep has found an unexpectedly well-balanced compromise in the Grand Cherokee. It doesn’t feel rough at all, but very smooth. It has sound-insulating lamented glass and a suspension that you can set to comfortably soften out the bumps in the asphalt. Should you start to miss the outside world, you can open up the large optional CommandView sunroof.
Since we’re talking Jeep, we’re talking Selec-Terrain. This proprietary 4x4 system provides 5 modes to tackle different weather conditions and driving surfaces. The Quadra-Lift air suspension brings your Jeep up to the right level of ground clearance! Going off-road with your vehicle gives a huge fun factor, so if you’re planning on buying an SUV anyway, we’d definitely recommend to consider this real 4x4! Why stick to the road when there are so many other interesting surfaces to drive on?
Is it safe?? With its side curtain airbags, blind spot monitoring and adaptive cruise control with forward collision warning, I’d definitely say “yes”! Another surprising feature we found while using the backup camera: it actually warns you when a vehicle is passing from behind, even with high speed!
And all that was being enjoyed in the royal luxury of premium leather with accented stitching, real exotic open-pore wood and a suede-like headliner. And the sunroof, of course. And did we mention that the Jeep Grand Cherokee’s Harman Kardon audio system drives 19 speakers? No? 19 speakers!
So, what is our conclusion? First of all, this SUV has so many features that you sure need to check it out at the dealership to get to know all of them, it will amaze you. As for the driving experience: the Jeep Grand Cherokee buys you a top-of-the-line luxury SUV with a unique excitement of true off-roading. Why settle for less?
