Pustomyty Raion

Pustomyty Raion (Ukrainian: Пустомитівський район) is a raion in Lviv Oblast in western Ukraine. Its administrative center is Pustomyty. Population: 113,634 (2013 est.).

It was established in 1959.

Pustomyty

Pustomyty (Ukrainian: Пустомити) is a city in Lviv Oblast (region) of Ukraine. It is administrative center of the Pustomyty Raion. Population: 9,111 (2013 est.).

For centuries Pustomyty belonged to Ruthenian Voivodeship, Kingdom of Poland. In 1772 it was annexed by the Habsburg Empire (see Partitions of Poland), where it remained until late 1918. In the Second Polish Republic, Pustomyty was part of Lwow Voivodeship.
