"Stigmata" is a song by industrial metal band Ministry, released as a single from their 1988 album The Land of Rape and Honey. The song features distorted vocals, guitars and compressed drum machine loops. The song was an underground hit. The video features gritty black and white, strobe-like montages of eyes, machinery, gears, symbols, the band playing live, Paul Barker on a motorcycle, and what appear to be neo-Nazi skinheads. The song was said to be "Ministry's finest moment until 1992". The track was later featured in the 1990 science fiction horror movie Hardware. It also appeared in the 1995 Hong Kong action comedy film Rumble in the Bronx.

Lipstick is a cosmetic product containing pigments, oils, waxes, and emollients that apply color, texture, and protection to the lips.

Many colors and types of lipstick exist. As with most other types of makeup, lipstick is typically, but not exclusively, worn by women. The use of lipstick dates back to medieval times. Some lipsticks are also lip balms, to add color and hydration.

History

Ancient Sumerian men and women were possibly the first to invent and wear lipstick, about 5,000 years ago. They crushed gemstones and used them to decorate their faces, mainly on the lips and around the eyes. Also Egyptians like Cleopatra crushed bugs to create a colour of red on their lips. Also around 3000 BC to 1500 BC, women in the ancient Indus Valley Civilization applied red tinted lipstick to their lips for face decoration.Ancient Egyptians wore lipstick to show social status rather than gender. They extracted the red dye from fucus-algin, 0.01% iodine, and some bromine mannite, but this dye resulted in serious illness. Lipsticks with shimmering effects were initially made using a pearlescent substance found in fish scales.

Lipstick is a Hindi language Indian television series, produced by Rose Movies that premiered on Zee TV on 9 September 2002. The story unvails the truth of how best friends can turn into enemies in the pursuit of love and success.

Plot

The story revolves around the lives of two women, Sheetal and Suniti, set in the backdrop of a corporate war between two publishing houses. The story opens with cut-throat competition between two publishing houses - UPC and Hands. Their film magazines 'Darpan' and 'Lipstick' are run by Sheetal and Suniti, respectively. While Suniti believes in giving only true stories to her readers, Sheetal fabricates and sensationalizes stories to give positive publicity to film stars and earn their favour.

Elliott (band)

Elliott was an American post-hardcore band from Louisville, Kentucky. They released three albums and several 7"s in their eight-year existence, and were signed to Revelation Records.

History

Formation

The group was formed in 1995 after the demise of lauded Louisville hardcore outfit Falling Forward. FF drummer Ben Lord soon left the band, so new drummer Kevin Ratterman was recruited, joining Chris Higdon (vocals/guitar), Jay Palumbo (guitar) and Jonathan Mobley (bass). Ratterman (who was also a producer and an engineer) would go on to play a large part in writing and producing Elliott's music.

In Transit and US Songs (1997–1998)

In 1997, Elliott released their debut 7", In Transit. Their first full-length, US Songs, followed in 1998.

False Cathedrals (2000)

2000's False Cathedrals was a more polished affair than its predecessor, featuring vocal harmonies and more piano than US Songs. False Cathedrals is Elliott's most popular release. It was met with critical acclaim by a broad cross-section of the underground rock community. According to Revelation Records, it is amongst the highest selling albums in the label's back-catalogue.
