Chris Connelly is an American sports and entertainment reporter who currently works for ESPN as a contributor to its E:60 newsmagazine. He was also the interim editor-in-chief of Grantland.com, replacing the position vacated by Bill Simmons, before ESPN shuttered the site on October 30, 2015.
Connelly joined ESPN in 2001 to host the daily interview program Unscripted with Chris Connelly, designed to be a more contemporary version of the long-running Up Close interview show which previously occupied the 5PM ET timeslot. The show, which premiered on the same day as Pardon the Interruption, lasted only a few months before being replaced by an early SportsCenter and eventually Around the Horn.
Since the cancellation of "Unscripted," Connelly has reported and narrated the long-form human interest reports that air on SportsCenter on weekends. Most notably, he annually does a one week series called "My Wish" involving athletes fulfilling kids' Make a Wish Foundation wishes. Connelly also helped ABC and ESPN cover the Scripps National Spelling Bee in 2006; he conducted interviews with finalists who had just been eliminated.
Chris Connelly (born 11 November 1964) is a Scottish author and musician who became famous for his industrial music work of the late 1980s and early 1990s, particularly his involvement with the Revolting Cocks and Ministry. He has since established himself as an alternative singer-songwriter.
Connelly was born in Bruntsfield, Scotland, near the city center of Edinburgh. Connelly's father died early in his life, causing him to focus on artistic interests outside the home to help fill the void. Connelly's Scottish ancestry includes Irish descent through the Connellys and Murphys, who originally came from Ireland to Scotland. His mother’s side, the Kings and the McCullochs were from the Highlands and migrated to Glasgow in search of work.
Connelly currently serves as the manager of Reckless Records, a record store in Wicker Park, Chicago. He resides in Oak Park, Illinois.
in contrast to his industrial roots, Connelly explored various genres in his solo works. Recently, he has started two projects more in the vein of industrial: Cocksure, with Jason C. Novak (Czar and Acumen Nation), and Bells into Machines, with Paul Barker (Ministry, Revolting Cocks, and Lard).

Chris Connelly - Too Good To Be True From "Phenobarb Bambalam" Wax Trax 1992
Chris Connelly grew up in Edinburgh where he had his first band Finitribe. After meeting with Al Jourgensen in November 1986 in London's Southern Studios he took part in several of Jourgensen's projects, mainly as a songwriter and Vocalist. At that time he started living in Chicago and became a part of the evolving Chicago industrial scene. Eventually he got in acquaintance with Martin Atkins around 1990 and worked with him in several groups. By that time he started his less industrial and more pop/vocal oriented career as solo artist. In 2007 he wrote "Concrete, Bulletproof, Invisible + Fried: My Life As A Revolting Cock" a book about his studio and touring experiences in the years from 1986 to 1992 approximately. He also wrote a book with poems: "Confessions Of The Highest Bidder".
