"I can truly say, I don't give a fuck about your money."
This one was a bit of a challenge. But I like a challenge.
The only sources I could get were YouTube uploads of various video and audio qualities all unfortunately chopped into separate sections. My intention was to piece together as complete a document of this show from what was available to me
...
The first problem is that there appears to be no indications out there as to what order the songs were played in at this show... Well,
I've done my best to figure something out. The bassist had his top on for two songs... I could only assume these were the first two songs available from the set!
Ian MacKaye specifies that '
Building' is the last song, and it certainly seems to be from the fact that bassist smashes his instrument to pieces at the end of it! ;) The order of the songs in between is pure guesswork.
The date of this show also remains vague at '
1986' on some of the original uploads. According to
Wikipedia Embrace were active between the summer of
1985 to the spring of 1986. In this video there's what looks like some
Christmas decorations (a
Santa Claus?) Could it be that this was always about in the 9:30
Club or does that put this as a
Christmas show? If so, that would put it at the end of 1985... Just my theory, which may be flawed!
The second problem was the awful quality of the source videos. All I can say is I've done my best to get something better out of them. Same can be said about the audio.
The end of 'Said Gun' could not be salvaged, the original tracking on the tape disappears and the video and audio go mental. But hey, here it is!
01. Do Not
Consider Yourself Free 00:00
02.
If I Never Thought About It 02:05
03. Can't
Forgive 05:01
04. Said Gun (ends abruptly due to fault with tape) 07:54
05.
Dance of
Days 09:59
06.
Give Me Back 12:16
07.
Money 15:04
08. (Ian MacKaye talks about 'emocore') 17:50
09.
Last Song 19:39
10.
End of a Year (a.k.a.
Words Are Not Enough) 22:21
11. Building 25:20
If you liked this you'll probably enjoy this video of
