Pairing menu with Ballast Point beers this week at Meraki
News and notes on the restaurant scene from dining critic Carol Deptolla
Through Saturday, Meraki at 939 S. 2nd St. in Walker's Point will offer a four-course menu paired with beers from San Diego's Ballast Point Brewing.
The menu serves grilled sardine, compressed melon, peas and citrus with Watermelon Dorado double IPA; chicken-fried rabbit, braised greens, fried okra and sweet potato waffles with Grunion pale ale; roasted goat, white chocolate curry, mango slaw and coconut rice with Indra Kunindra curry export stout; and dark chocolate-salted caramel ganache, chestnuts, chocolate ice cream and whiskey caramel corn with Victory at Sea coffee imperial porter.
The pairing menu is $45, and it's served alongside Meraki's regular menu this week.
The menu's timing happens to fall during Milwaukee Beer Week, although it's not one of the week's official dinners, tappings and other activities.
