Sharmila Tagore

Sharmila Tagore (also known as Begum Ayesha Sultana; born 8 December 1946) is an Indian film actress known for her works predominantly in Hindi cinema. She has received two National Film Awards and two Filmfare Awards for her performances.

She led the Indian Film Censor Board from October 2004 till March 2011. In December 2005 she was chosen as an UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador. She was one of the International Competition's Jury Members at the 2009 Cannes Film Festival. In 2013, she was awarded Padma Bhushan by the Government of India.

Early life

Tagore was born in Hyderabad, Telangana to Ira Barua, an Assamese and Gitindranath Tagore, a Bengali.

Tagore's mother, Ira Barua, was the daughter of Jnanadabhiram Barua (Tagore's maternal grandfather), the founder Principal of Earl Law College (now Government Law College) in Guwahati and her maternal great-grandfather Gunabhiram Barua led the fight against the tradition of child marriage and worked for promotion of widow marriage and women education in Assam. Tagore's maternal grandmother Latika Tagore was the granddaughter of Rabindranath Tagore's brother, Dwijendranath Tagore.

Rajesh Khanna

Rajesh Khanna ( pronunciation  born Jatin Khanna; 29 December 1942 – 18 July 2012) was a Bollywood actor, film producer and politician. He is referred to as the "first superstar" and the "original superstar" of Indian cinema. He starred in 15 consecutive solo hit films in the period 1969 to 1971.

He made his debut in 1966 with Aakhri Khat. Through his career he appeared in more than 160 feature films and 17 short films. He received the Filmfare Best Actor Award award three times and the BFJA Awards for Best Actor (Hindi) four times. In 1991, he was awarded the Filmfare Special Award and in 2005, he received the Filmfare Lifetime Achievement Award. He was the highest paid Indian actor from 1970 to 1987 where Amitabh Bachchan shared the same tag with Khanna from 1980 to 1987.

He was also a Lok Sabha member of the Indian National Congress from New Delhi constituency from 1992 to 1996.

He married Dimple Kapadia in March 1973, eight months before her debut film Bobby was released and had two daughters from the marriage. Their elder daughter Twinkle Khanna is married to actor Akshay Kumar, while they also have a younger daughter Rinke Khanna.

Mere Sapno Ki Rani

"Mere Sapno Ki Rani" is a popular Hindi song from the 1969 Bollywood movie Aradhana. The song was composed by Sachin Dev Burman and performed by Kishore Kumar. In the film, Rajesh Khanna, the male protagonist, sings the song atop an open jeep virtually chasing the heroine, Sharmila Tagore, who was aboard the toy train in Darjeeling (Darjeeling Himalayan Railway). R. D. Burman composed the song after his father, S.D. Burman, became too ill to finish the film's music. The song became a superhit in India. Many other versions of this song were made such as the song "Atha Dilisena Hiru" by famous Sri Lankan singer H. R. Jothipala

Picturization

In the film, Rajesh Khanna stars as Arun Verma, a young pilot from the Indian Air Force. On the Darjeeling toy train, Sharmila Tagore is Vandana, a freshly graduated college student who is returning to her hill station home. Arun and his friend, Madan (Sujit Kumar) have taken leave without permission, and as Madan drives the open top jeep, Arun sings the song in Kishore Kumar's voice, flirtatiously eying Vandana, and later in the film, when they meet again, they fall in love.

Sapnon Ki Rani (Kannada: ಸಪ್ನೋಕೆ ರಾಣಿ) is a 2015 Indian Kannada romantic drama film directed by A. R. Babu, and stars Srujan Lokesh, Aishwarya Sindhogi and Niranjan Deshpande in the lead roles. The film's music is scored by Dharma Vish.
