Plot: To the young people of Ellington the Supermarket was many different things. Another home, a place they'd known as long as they can remember. A one-of-a-kind place to work, build friendships and have as much fun as possible without getting caught. The heart of their town, a farming community with more cows than people and the last outpost for Rockwell's America. But this summer Ellington, the Supermarket, and the young people who cared for it the most will grow up. A modern day Capraesque tale about growing into adulthood in small town USA, 'The Supermarket' is a story of laughter, love, old rivalries, coming home for the summer, barely functional cars, small triumphs and tragic loss, late-night lawbreaking, fearing the future, food fights, standing together, and finding your place in the world.

Jenkins: [Voiceover] The Supermarket in Ellington, Connecticut was always a constant in my life. Unchanged from my first memories of the place as a little kid, from the front end to the back room, aisle seven to seafood, it was timeless, like the town it was built in. Lying below the Johnny Appleseed Orchards, and just across the street from the Kelly family's cornfields, the place always felt like it was simply a natural part of Ellington. The Supermarket was an important link in the town: it was where all the families got their food, where all the local kids worked, where all the farmers would come to cool off. But most of all it was a community, for the customers, for the long time employees, and especially for all of us. This was where we worked, where we hung out. It was like a smaller version of our town. And I guess I should tell you about the town, 'cause Ellington is pretty important to this story as well. Ellington, Connecticut was a town everyone always said had more cows than people, and even if they wouldn't admit it, it was somethin' they were proud of. It was one of the last of its kind, an old fashioned family farm town. I've lived in Ellington my whole life, and it seemed as though the town and the Supermarket always stayed the same. They stood the test of time, almost immortal. Or at least, that's what I had thought. Bus as usually happens in these stories unfortunately, that was all about to change...

Madore: I'm telling you, it was a man that I picked up. It was gross.::Mr. Wagner: Hey, I hate to disturb this intelligent conversation you're having here but don't you guys have work to do?::Madore: Sorry, uh, sir.::Jenkins: Yeah, get the hell out of my aisle!::Pat: [Muttering] Don't wanna hang out in this stupid aisle anyways.

Jenkins: [Voiceover] Over in aisle three we got Mike, Ellington's number one marauding skateboarder since the sixth grade. He could drink a Russian under the table, and once fought off twenty Yankees fans with a set of car keys. Funny story, actually.

Jenkins: [Voiceover] Around 7:30, Pat starts stocking aisle six and wakes up the hobo who's been sleeping in the paper towels for the last couple months. As long as he's out of there before 9 every morning nobody seems to mind.::Pat: Here's your crescent.::Hobo: Thanks, see ya tomorry!

Jenkins: [Voiceover] Pat is the lone mystical samurai of the grocery department. A guy who says it like it is and doesn't mind ruffling a few feathers while he's sayin' it.
