A Midsummer Night′s Dream of Maxime from France Maxime Branchelot came to Korea from France, the cradle of cinema, to learn more about film-making. He developed interest in Korean films after watching the movie "Oldboy" directed by Park Chan-wook. Since then he enjoyed watching Korean movies and naturally became interested in Korea and its culture. In February of 2014, with only one semester left before his graduation, Maxime sent applications to Korean film production and distribution companies that he found on the homepage of the Korean Film Council. One of some 40 companies that received his applications contacted him and offered him a six-month internship. His six months in Korea passed in a flash. Now it′s time for him to return to his home country. But before he leaves, Maxime wants to experience the diversity of Korea. He embarks on a trip with two of his friends from his hometown. The first place that they decide to visit is Cheongsong, which is home to the filming site of director Kim Ki-duk′s movie "Spring, Summer, Autumn, Winter...and Spring," Maxime′s favorite Korean movie. Cheongsong welcomes Maxime and his friends with its dazzling sunshine and beautiful scenery, just like in the movie, to celebrate Maxime′s final trip in Korea. 프랑스 청년 막심의 ‘한 여름 밤의 꿈’ 영화의 종주국이라 불리는 프랑스에서 영화를 공부하기 위해 한국에 왔다는 막심 브란체롯. 칸 영화제에서 소개된 박찬욱 감독의 영화 ＜올드보이＞를 본 후, 한국 영화의 매력에 빠지게 됐다. 그 후 일부러 한국 영화를 찾아보게 됐고, 한국에 대한 관심이 커졌다. 대학의 마지막 학기를 남겨둔 올해 2월. 한국 영화진흥위원회 홈페이지에 있는 한국 영화제작사와 배급사에 무작정 입사 지원서를 보냈다. 40여 곳 중에서 막심 브란체롯의 꿈을 응원해 줄 한 곳에서 연락이 왔다. 그렇게 소규모 영화사의 인턴 자격으로 6개월간의 한국 생활이 시작됐다.가는 시간은 잡을 수 없는 것일까? 막심 브란체롯에게 허락된 한국에서의 6개월이란 시간은 무척 빨리 지나갔다. 이제 곧 프랑스로 돌아가야 한다. 한국의 다양한 모습을 기억에 담아가고 싶은 막심 브란체롯. 프랑스 바닷가 마을 라로셸 출신인 고향 친구 2명과 함께 여행을 떠나기로 했다. 그들의 첫 번째 목적지는 그가 가장 좋아하는 한국 영화, 김기덕 감독의 ＜봄, 여름, 가을, 겨울 그리고 봄＞의 촬영지인 청송이다. 영화에서처럼 신비로운 모습 그대로 간직하고 있을까? 눈부시도록 빛나는 태양 아래, 고향친구 셋이서 떠나는 열정 가득한 여행. 막심 브란체롯이 한국을 떠나기 전, 꿈같은 여름날의 마지막 여행이 시작된다.
