Sort of gives you that edge in close quarters along with "High Caliber" and "No Scope" in Firearms traitline. Elixir S can be dropped for another elixir depending on your opponent/s/. Honestly any elite is good but gyro is probably best and mortar probably isn't worth it when solo. Healing turret over elixir H for the instant 2 condi removal, water fields for your leap/blasts and ability to pick it up. Fight #1 00:47 - Druid + Scrapper - DO NOT spam your elite gyro or it will explode. I do this a lot throughout the video and it's a biiig no no. Normally you'll want to use your hammer #3 through a water field BUT it can be just as good when using it through a lightning field as the dazes can turn a fight around. It's likely the scrapper was trying to heal the moment his elixir expired; seeing an opponent this low, it's a good idea to throw down that lightning field and daze through it to prevent heals. Function gyro \o/. Fight #2 02:16 - Similar to the first fight, try not to give your opponent breathing space, if they're getting low on HP or you just done a ton of damage to them, it's likely they'll try to heal within the next few seconds. Stun, daze or knockback. Fight #3 03:52 - Condi reaper. The old necro to counter engineer hasn't gone away. The one strength an engi had when fighting a necro was CC, so much CC. Now the reaper has stability, there goes our strength. But still, with a couple tweaks you can put up a fight, for instance swapping elixir S for elixir U and stealth gyro for supply crate. Clearly I didn't get the memo about reaper stability until after the fight, I tried CC'ing a lot :P. Fight #4 05:20 - Guardian + Mesmer. The mesmer should of healed, whether it was on CD or he was being complacent I'm not sure. Fight #5 06:39 - That's what you get for trying to gank! Props to the TA thief for backing off. The guardian was clearly new and didn't have much of an idea of what was going on, not an upscale though, just dressed like one :P. Moral of the story: ganking can backfire. Fight #6 08:11 - Heard a lot about dragonhunters being OP though this build seems to handle them well, have yet to lose to one. Ofc there were others I encountered, with the elite trap, more traps, different weapons though they all ended pretty much the same. Not saying this build CAN'T lose to a DH, I just haven't yet while using it. Fight #7 09:28 - Round #2 Fight #8 10:49 - Same with Herald, been told they're a real tough fight and some of them have been, but usually they run out of defences before I do. Have yet to lose to one using this build. Fight #9 12:02 - Not sure if the first guard's heal was on CD, he had just been taking a camp. Plenty of ways to safe stomp though. Fight #10 12:38 - Helluh close fight with a Herald. Again with the stealth gyro, don't spam it! Fight #11 13:13 - Bit of a weird fight. If you can, secure the first stomp with elixir S or you melt like I did. Fight #12 13:45 - 2 scrappers, 1 longbow ranger. My first 1v3 in forever and of course THAT happens. Still, had a good laugh after it. Break line of sight if you can! Fight #13 17:42 - Daredevil. Again, heard that these guys dominate in 1v1 with the insane evades. None have given me much trouble. Was thinking this build might even counter certain thieves but honestly the thief could of timed his steal/interrupts better. STILL, his build does counter mine in a sense as it has superior mobility and he pulled out of range countless times in the 7 minute fight, but not ooc. He could of bailed at any time. Fight #14 19:38 - Damn asura always nipping at my tail. Overall pros/cons: Pros: - High stats: Power is almost always over 3k, ferocity at 217%, toughness is no lower than 2.6k with added toughness from Adaptive armour trait with reduced damage by 7% when within 600 units. - Good condi removal - Safe stomps! - Lots of boons. Fury/swiftness/high might is constant when in combat. Cons/weaknesses: - Mobility. You are slow and struggle to close the gap against kiting enemies. Longbow ranger destroys this build as you simply can't get close to them. Breaking line of sight can help. - Vulnerable to heavy condi, just like any other class really. There's no build I've thrown on and said "I'm completely immune to condi builds" but this has ways to deal with a fair amount of them while STILL destroying power builds.
