In law, treason is the crime that covers some of the more extreme acts against one's sovereign or nation. Historically, treason also covered the murder of specific social superiors, such as the murder of a husband by his wife. Treason against the king was known as high treason and treason against a lesser superior was petty treason. A person who commits treason is known in law as a traitor.
Oran's Dictionary of the Law (1983) defines treason as "...[a]...citizen's actions to help a foreign government overthrow, make war against, or seriously injure the [parent nation]." In many nations, it is also often considered treason to attempt or conspire to overthrow the government, even if no foreign country is aided or involved by such an endeavour.
Outside legal spheres, the word "traitor" may also be used to describe a person who betrays (or is accused of betraying) their own political party, nation, family, friends, ethnic group, team, religion, social class, or other group to which they may belong. Often, such accusations are controversial and disputed, as the person may not identify with the group of which they are a member, or may otherwise disagree with the group leaders making the charge. Barack Hussein Obama II (
i/bəˈrɑːk huːˈseɪn oʊˈbɑːmə/; born August 4, 1961) is the 44th and current President of the United States. He is the first African American to hold the office. In January 2005, Obama was sworn in as a U.S. Senator in the state of Illinois. He would hold this office until November 2008, when he resigned following his victory in the 2008 presidential election.
Born in Honolulu, Hawaii, Obama is a graduate of Columbia University and Harvard Law School, where he was the president of the Harvard Law Review. He was a community organizer in Chicago before earning his law degree. He worked as a civil rights attorney in Chicago and taught constitutional law at the University of Chicago Law School from 1992 to 2004. He served three terms representing the 13th District in the Illinois Senate from 1997 to 2004.
Following an unsuccessful bid against the Democratic incumbent for a seat in the United States House of Representatives in 2000, Obama ran for the United States Senate in 2004. Several events brought him to national attention during the campaign, including his victory in the March 2004 Illinois Democratic primary for the Senate election and his keynote address at the Democratic National Convention in July 2004. He won election to the U.S. Senate in Illinois in November 2004. His presidential campaign began in February 2007, and after a close campaign in the 2008 Democratic Party presidential primaries against Hillary Rodham Clinton, he won his party's nomination. In the 2008 presidential election, he defeated Republican nominee John McCain, and was inaugurated as president on January 20, 2009. Nine months later, Obama was named the 2009 Nobel Peace Prize laureate. In April 2011, he announced that he would be running for re-election in 2012.

Plot: Trade shown, reviewed and released as "Heaven Only Knows," for a short while until the exhibitors (in mostly small town situations) started complaining that customers were staying away in droves because they thought it was a religious film. UA pulled it back, in the same release year, and retitled it "Montana Mike" and sent it back out again, one of the few instances where an original title and an alternate title occurred in the same original release period or year, despite some sources that seem to think original and alternate and re-issue titles all came about in the same year. Actually it was a "religious" film or, to be more specific, a "religious fantasy" film. but it sold well in the stix as a Western, and worked well as one also. It seems that in Heaven, the Book of Life and The Book of Destiny are all out of balance because of one guy, a Montana saloon keeper and cold, ruthless killer, and the problem is the angels forgot to make a entry in the Book of Life for him. So a Heavenly Messenger named Michael---evidently a favorite name for angels in movies or else some people have long memories---is sent down to do what he can in getting the books balanced. Dance-hall girl Marjorie Reynolds and preacher's-daughter Jorja Curtwright help complicate the auditing.

Treason is the last album by progressive rock band, Gryphon, originally released in 1977 by Harvest, catalogue number SHSP 4063.
"Their sound here is quite more electric than in the past, less folky. I think this record has a optimum balance between electric instruments and acoustic ones. Many would consider bad their new orientation, but one has to listen carefully and conclude that the tracks are sophisticated, very well played and very progressive. There are still tons of percussions (varied small bells among others). The bassoon is still well played, the required synchronization for complex changing patterns is still there. Harvey's keyboards are more rhythmic, more accessible, despite he plays here some outstanding solos. The bass is complex enough and rather bottom. The omnipresent rhythmic guitars and keyboards, the miscellaneous vocals give some bits a style comparable to prog band Kayak. But of course the compositions are quite more elaborated. Different, yes, but still excellent!"
