Mechanization or mechanisation (BE) is the process of changing from working largely or exclusively by hand or with animals to doing that work with machinery. In an early engineering text a machine is defined as follows:
Machines, in fact, are interposed between the power and the work, for the purpose of adapting the one to the other.
In some fields, mechanization includes the use of hand tools. In modern usage, such as in engineering or economics, mechanization implies machinery more complex than hand tools and would not include simple devices such as an ungeared horse or donkey mill. Devices that cause speed changes or changes to or from reciprocating to rotary motion, using means such as gears, pulleys or sheaves and belts, shafts, cams and cranks, usually are considered machines. After electrification, when most small machinery was no longer hand powered, mechanization was synonymous with motorized machines.
Water wheels date to the Roman period and were used to grind grain and lift irrigation water. Water powered bellows were in use on blast furnaces in China in 31 AD. By the 13th century, water wheels powered sawmills and trip hammers, to full cloth and pound flax and later cotton rags into pulp for making paper. Trip hammers are shown crushing ore in De re Metallica (1555).

The Foundations of Wealth presents economic principles through combining documentary film material and high quality animation as we follow two people, cartoon characters, and the community they live in, through a series of economic changes and developments, that illustrate the foundations of basic economic principles and mechanisms, which are then presented at work in the real world today.
This lecture focuses on the integration of mechanized capability into the German Army in the years between World War I and World War II. It will discuss the development of doctrine, technologies, and organizations related to mechanization. It will also highlight the role of key individuals leading the process of mechanization. Dr. Louis A. Dimarco retired as a Lieutenant Colonel in the United States Army in 2005 after more than 24 years of active service. Dr. Dimarco is the author or co-author of several Army doctrinal manuals, and of numerous scholarly articles. His most recent published work is “The Mechanized Cavalry’s Critical Contribution to Victory in Europe, 1944-45,” in the Global War Studies Journal, 2013. He is also the author of two books: War Horse: A history of the Military ...

Large scale maize farmers in eldoret have turned to ways of cutting costs to counter rapidly rising production costs made worse by high fuel prices. The farmers are turning to mechanized farming to cut down on the more expensive and unreliable human labour. Ktn spoke to some of the farmers during the official launch of a modern combined harvester claas stocano 480 and great plains planters at the sergoit farm in uasin gishu county.

Listen to the full audiobook: http://easyget.us/mabk/30/en/B00A9YH7PS/book The Mechanisation of Natural Philosophy is devoted to various aspects of the transformation of natural philosophy during the 16th and 17th centuries that is usually described as mechanical philosophy .drawing the border between the old Aristotelianism and the new mechanical philosophy faces historians with a delicate task, if not an impossible mission. There were many natural philosophers who actually crossed the border between the two worlds, and, inside each of these worlds, there was a vast spectrum of doctrines, arguments and intellectual practices. The expression mechanical philosophy is burdened with ambiguities. It may refer to at least three different enterprises: a description of nature in mathematical te...

Read your free e-book: http://hotaudiobook.com/mebk/50/en/B00ABLZT68/book Labor and Laborers of the Loom: Mechanization and Handloom Weavers 1780-1840 develops several themes important to understanding the social, cultural and economic implications of industrialization. The examination of these issues within a population of extra-factory workers distinguishes this study. The volume centers on the rapid growth of handloom weaving in response to the introduction of water powered spinning. This change is viewed from the perspectives of mechanics, technological limitations, characteristics of weaving, skills, income and cost. In the works of Duncan Bythell and Norman Murray the displacement of British and Scottish hand weavers loomed large and the silence of American handloom weavers in simila...

This is a loop which is part of a weekly exorcise that I am using to push myself further into the practices of looping, filming, editing, and recording. I have had a lot of people say that they enjoy the acoustic guitar stuff, and I’m still coming down from all the synths at Knobcon so I decided to combine the two of them. To record this loop I used the Oberheim Echoplex, Waldorf Streichfett, Roland TR-8, TC Electronic Ditto x4, and Triple Delay. As always I hope you enjoy this loop, and don’t forget to like, share, and subscribe.

All men of this planet were not like us. The roots of today's ecological crisis began in the 16th and 17th centuries with certain philosophic shifts that led to scientific reductionism. Science became quantified and the qualitative aspects of things no longer mattered to Science because the qualitative couldn't be measured. A flower became only the material that it was made of and it's weight, it's beauty and color became irrelevant because it could not be measured. Another example would be something like Mozart's masterpiece being explained only by knowing the weight and material structure of his piano, ignoring the masterpiece of music that the piano created. And so the reckless raping and pillaging of the planet began because science reduced the planet to the few physical laws that it h...
