In this video, I quickly review the old full frame popular Nikon DSLR, the Nikon D700. Why would someone still want a camera made in 2008?Well it has 12 megapixels, the perfect size for any shooting and is built professionally. In 2016, this is still a must buy for someone needing their first FX camera if they do not mind missing out on video. To me, the lack of video, is the ONLY drawback.
Shooting at 5 fps, handles most situation and for the used price now a days, makes the D700 VERY HARD to pass up!

Taiwan Special Episode 2: In the 1st episode we got challenged to visit 7 locations in Taichung, Taiwan in 3 days or else we have to pay for our entire trip. Last time Lok was stopped in customs for importing some green phallic things into the country; I had my suitcase raided by the bloody producer and packed an HDR costume; he had a hissy fit when I cleaned out his minibar; we took some photos; had a meal in a toilet and we got set a challenge to visit 7 locations in 3 days, if we don't complete the challenge, then our forfeit is to pay for the trip. We only managed to see one location that day, so we still have 6 locations to visit in 1 1/2 days. To make sure Lok was up nice and early, I bought him some alarm clocks to make sure he wakes up in time for day2.....

I've received several requests from viewers for me to share some of my thoughts on the Nikon D700, and how it compares to the Fuji X100s when it comes to street photography, social documentary photography, and photojournalism. Some photographers have claimed that the Fuji X100s has replaced the DSLR for such types of photography. As you shall see, I don't agree with these claims.
Don't get me started on battery life! You can walk around and shoot all day with a single battery with the D700, whereas the Fuji X100s eats batteries. I went through four batteries with the X100s, while only using one battery in the D700 over the same length of time

Nikon D700
The Nikon D700 is a professional-grade full-frame digital single-lens reflex camera introduced by the Nikon Corporation in July 2008 and manufactured in Japan. It uses the same 12.1-megapixel "FX" CMOS image sensor as the Nikon D3, and is Nikon's second full-frame digital SLR camera.
The D700's full-frame sensor allows the use of non-DX F-mount lenses to their fullest advantage, with no crop factor. When a DX lens is mounted on the D700, either the DX-sized portion, or the (vignetted) FX-sized portion of the camera's sensor can be used. The D700 has a built in autofocus motor for all Nikon autofocus-lenses, includes CPU and metering for older Nikon F-mount AI/AI-S lenses, and supports PC-E lenses. The D700 bears a physical similarity to the Nikon D300, which uses the same MB-D10 battery pack and EN-EL3e battery. As of 2012, the Nikon D3X, the D3/D3s, D4 and D700 are the only Nikon DSLR models that are manufactured in Japan. It was discontinued on August 24, 2012.

In this video, I quickly review the old full frame popular Nikon DSLR, the Nikon D700. Why would someone still want a camera made in 2008?Well it has 12 megapixels, the perfect size for any shooting and is built professionally. In 2016, this is still a must buy for someone needing their first FX camera if they do not mind missing out on video. To me, the lack of video, is the ONLY drawback.
Shooting at 5 fps, handles most situation and for the used price now a days, makes the D700 VERY HARD to pass up!

Taiwan Special Episode 2: In the 1st episode we got challenged to visit 7 locations in Taichung, Taiwan in 3 days or else we have to pay for our entire trip. Last time Lok was stopped in customs for importing some green phallic things into the country; I had my suitcase raided by the bloody producer and packed an HDR costume; he had a hissy fit when I cleaned out his minibar; we took some photos; had a meal in a toilet and we got set a challenge to visit 7 locations in 3 days, if we don't complete the challenge, then our forfeit is to pay for the trip. We only managed to see one location that day, so we still have 6 locations to visit in 1 1/2 days. To make sure Lok was up nice and early, I bought him some alarm clocks to make sure he wakes up in time for day2.....
