Soy el Mismo (Prince Royce album)

Soy el Mismo (English: "I'm the Same") is the third studio album by American recording artist Prince Royce released on October 8, 2013. It is preceded by its lead single "Darte un Beso" which was released in July and peaked at number 1 on the US Hot Latin Songs Chart. The track "Te Regalo el Mar" was available as an instant digital download with the iTunes Store pre-order of the album. At the Latin Grammy Awards of 2014, the album received a nomination for Contemporary Tropical Album.

Soybean

The soybean in the U.S., also called the soya bean in Europe (Glycine max), is a species of legume native to East Asia, widely grown for its edible bean which has numerous uses. The plant is classed as an oilseed rather than a pulse by the UN Food and Agriculture Organization (FAO).

Fat-free (defatted) soybean meal is a significant and cheap source of protein for animal feeds and many packaged meals; soy vegetable oil is another product of processing the soybean crop. For example, soybean products such as textured vegetable protein (TVP) are ingredients in many meat and dairy analogues. Soybeans produce significantly more protein per acre than most other uses of land.

Traditional nonfermented food uses of soybeans include soy milk, from which tofu and tofu skin are made. Fermented foods include soy sauce, fermented bean paste, natto, and tempeh, among others. The oil is used in many industrial applications. The main producers of soy are the United States (36%), Brazil (36%), Argentina (18%), China (5%) and India (4%). The beans contain significant amounts of phytic acid, alpha-linolenic acid, and isoflavones.

Mismo

Mismo is an alcoholic beverage based on Bacardi rum and seltzer. In 1899, Santiago was swept by a craze for a new drink called mismo. It arose when a group of Cubans and Americans met at the Cosmopolitan Club, and one experimenting Cuban ordered a seltzer rum. The next Cuban ordered Lo mismo, which means "the same" in Spanish. The Americans, eager to explore the novel idea, also ordered Lo mismo, and found it to their liking; the next day, they returned and ordered it again. Fortunately, the same bartender was on duty, and served it straight away. "It spread with remarkable rapidity," reported the New York Tribune, "until now every barkeeper in Santiago knows what you are after when you ask for a 'mismo.' In fact, you rarely ever hear Barcadi rum and selzter spoken of in any other way now."

It continued to be a popular drink in Cuba during and after Prohibition.
