In this quick video I give a brief description on how a stator works. I also show you how to test it using a multimeter use ohms.
I did for get to mention the process the stator uses.Depending on the configuration of a spinning electromotive device the stator may act as the field magnet, interacting with the armature to create motion, or it may act as the armature, receiving its influence from moving field coils on the rotor. The first DC generators (known as dynamos) and DC motors put the field coils on the stator, and the power generation or motive reaction coils on the rotor. This is necessary because a continuously moving power switch known as the commutator is needed to keep the field correctly aligned across the spinning rotor. The commutator must become larger and more robust as the current increases.

The stator of these devices may be either a permanent magnet or an electromagnet. Where the stator is an electromagnet, the coil which energizes it is known as the field coil or field winding.
The coil can be either copper or aluminum. To reduce load losses in motors, manufacturers invariably use copper as the conducting material in windings.[1][2] (For more information, see: Copper in energy efficient motors). Aluminum, because of its lower electrical conductivity, may be an alternate material in fractional horsepower motors, especially when the motors are used for very short durations.
An AC alternator is able to produce power across multiple high-current power generation coils connected in parallel, eliminating the need for the commutator. Placing the field coils on the rotor allows for an inexpensive slip ring mechanism to transfer high-voltage, low current power to the rotating field coil.

This video was removing the stator and rotor out of my generator to confirm my worst fears that the stator is shot. Sorry that this video had the same ending as the other one for some reason. Anyways after getting the stator and rotor out i sent it to a local shop in town that quoted me 500 for the stator then 3 weeks later came back saying the price would be about 2000 which is a total rip off. I sent it down south of the border and get the stator rewound for 450 and 75 to redip the rotor. all is good in the future videos

Power electronics
Power electronics is the application of solid-state electronics to the control and conversion of electric power. It also refers to a subject of research in electronic and electrical engineering which deals with the design, control, computation and integration of nonlinear, time-varying energy-processing electronic systems with fast dynamics.
The first high power electronic devices were mercury-arc valves. In modern systems the conversion is performed with semiconductor switching devices such as diodes, thyristors and transistors, pioneered by R. D. Middlebrook and others beginning in the 1950s. In contrast to electronic systems concerned with transmission and processing of signals and data, in power electronics substantial amounts of electrical energy are processed. An AC/DC converter (rectifier) is the most typical power electronics device found in many consumer electronic devices, e.g. television sets, personal computers, battery chargers, etc. The power range is typically from tens of watts to several hundred watts. In industry a common application is the variable speed drive (VSD) that is used to control an induction motor. The power range of VSDs start from a few hundred watts and end at tens of megawatts.

This video was removing the stator and rotor out of my generator to confirm my worst fears that the stator is shot. Sorry that this video had the same ending as the other one for some reason. Anyways after getting the stator and rotor out i sent it to a local shop in town that quoted me 500 for the stator then 3 weeks later came back saying the price would be about 2000 which is a total rip off. I sent it down south of the border and get the stator rewound for 450 and 75 to redip the rotor. all is good in the future videos
