FIRST IMPRESSIONS REVIEW:
So, here are my very vague first impressions.
The NWZ-A15 is a music player
. It plays music and it sounds fine.
Okay, to be clear.
It's a nice little player with an easy enough to use
interface. The screen and build quality aren't super amazing, but still decent. I dare say it looks prettier than a lot of the other dedicated DAPs out there.
As far as sound goes, I can't really comment on the quality without doing some volume matched comparisons with some of my other equipment, but my gut impression is that it sounds more or less the same as the ZX1, which means it sounds more or less the same as everything else I own. That means it sounds clean and good. It does produce a slight hiss with the Sony XBA-H3, and a more noticeable hiss with the Nuforce
Primo 8, though at this
point I couldn't really rely on memory to say if it is worse or better than the ZX1 in that regard.
This little player doesn't seem to have enough power to comfortably drive say, my
AKG K712 Pro, but otherwise seems perfectly capable of driving many IEMs including the supposedly power hungry Havi B3
Pro 1.
I am inclined to feel more positively about this player than the ZX1 since it does what it says on the tin, doesn't take up a lot of pocket space, and doesn't cost an arm and leg doing it.
