Jim Bob (born James Neil Morrison on 22 November 1960) is a British musician and author, best known as the singer of indie punk band Carter USM.
Jim Bob was born James Robert Morrison in London, on 22 November 1960. He changed his name because he did not want to be mistaken for, in his own words, "a fat, dead, crap poet" – in other words, the former singer of The Doors.
He played in various bands during the late 1970s and early 1980s, one of which was Jamie Wednesday who were performing between 1984 and 1987. In 1987 Jamie Wednesday split up just before a gig at the London Astoria. Morrison and Les "Fruitbat" Carter filled in, playing along to a backing tape, and Carter USM was born. In fact, Jim and Les had known each other since the late 1970s, when their bands The Ballpoints (featuring Jim on vocals) and Dead Clergy (Les on bass and vocals) used to rehearse at the same studio behind Streatham station. When The Ballpoints' bassist quit at the end of 1980, Les joined the band, who then went on to play several gigs under the name of Peter Pan's Playground.
James Robert "Jim Bob" Duggar (born July 18, 1965) is an American real estate agent, politician, and television personality on the reality series 19 Kids and Counting. He served in the Arkansas House of Representatives (1999-2002).
Duggar was born in Springdale, Arkansas, the son of Jimmy Lee Duggar (1936–2009) and Mary (Lester) Duggar (born 1941), who owns a real estate brokerage agency. Duggar has an older sister, Deanna.
Duggar is a licensed realtor, and owns several commercial properties in his local area as an investor.
From 1999 to 2002, Duggar served in the Arkansas House of Representatives for the sixth district, which included part of northern Washington County, Arkansas. Duggar was vice chair of the House Corrections and Criminal Law Subcommittee and also participated in the Insurance and Commerce Committee and Judiciary Committee.
Duggar ran unsuccessfully in the Republican Party of Arkansas primary election for the United States Senate in 2002, losing to incumbent Senator Tim Hutchinson by a vote of 71,576 to 20,546. He next sought the Republican nomination to the Arkansas State Senate District 35 seat in 2006, losing to candidate Bill Pritchard by 200 votes.
19 Kids and Counting (formerly 17 Kids and Counting and 18 Kids and Counting), rendered graphically as 19 kids & Counting in its onscreen logo, is an American reality television show that aired on the cable channel TLC for seven years, until its cancellation in 2015. The show featured the Duggar family: parents Jim Bob and Michelle Duggar and their 19 children—nine girls and ten boys, all of whose names begin with the letter "J". During the life of the show, three of the children were married, and several grandchildren were born.
The reality show focused on the life of the Duggar family who are devout Independent Baptists, and frequently discusses values of purity, modesty, and faith in God. The Duggars avoid birth control saying they have decided to allow God to determine the number of children they have. All of the children are homeschooled, and access to entertainment, such as movies and television, is limited. They practice chaperoned courtship, where the couple gets to know each other in a group setting. The values presented on the show have been associated with the Quiverfull movement, which has been described as promoting strict family conformity, male hierarchies, and subservient roles for women. The Duggars do not self-identify as Quiverfull Christians.
Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machine (frequently shortened to Carter USM) were an English indie rock band formed in 1988 by singer Jim "Jim Bob" Morrison and guitarist Les "Fruitbat" Carter. They made their name with a distinctive style of power pop, fusing samples, sequenced basses and drum machines with rock 'n' roll guitars and off-beat wordplay-loaded lyrics. They reached the height of their fame in 1992. Over the following years the band took on new members, topping out as a six-piece, but struggled to regain their earlier popularity. They initially split up in 1998 after releasing seven albums.
Based in Lambeth in South London, England, Fruitbat and Jim Bob originally played in an indie band called Jamie Wednesday, which released two singles - "Vote For Love" and "We Three Kings of Orient Aren't". Carter the Unstoppable Sex Machine was formed in 1987, when Fruitbat and Jim Bob were the only band members to turn up for a charity gig at the London Astoria, and went on stage to perform as a duo with backing tapes. The debut single "A Sheltered Life" was released later in 1988 on the Big Cat label, but it was not until the second single "Sheriff Fatman" in 1989 that the band began to receive recognition. The song was written about a South London slumlord and was followed by the album 101 Damnations – a critical account of life south of the River Thames, full of black humour, cynicism, wordplay and puns. The album went straight to the top of the indie charts.

Plot: As the film opens on an Oklahoma farm during the depression, two simultaneous visitors literally hit the Wagoneer home: a ruinous dust storm and a convertible crazily driven by Red, the missus' brother. A roguish country-western musician, he has just been invited to audition for the Grand Ole Opry, his chance of a lifetime to become a success. However, this is way back in Nashville, Red clearly drives terribly, and he's broke and sick with tuberculosis to boot. Whit, 14, seeing his own chance of a lifetime to avoid "growing up to be a cotton picker all my life," begs Ma to let him go with Uncle Red as driver and protege. Thus begins a picaresque journey both hilarious and poignant.

Megyn Kelly interviewed Michelle & Jim Bob Duggar about the "child molestation" scandal currently surrounding their son Joshua Duggar. In this interview it sounds to me like a 14-year old boy wanted to know what breasts felt like...so he touched them...on a few occasions ...while the girls (4 of his younger sisters & a babysitter) were sleeping...they never knew he touched them...until Michelle & Jim Bob told them he had done so. This hardly sounds like "molestation" to me. (I have not read the illegally-released police reports from Joshua's sealed juvenile record.) Nor is it something that anyone should ever have their life ruined over. I also don't believe that the parents should have ever told anyone about this. Ever. They should have dealt with Joshua and kept it between them. ...
