I'm
Jaspreet Singh & I created
Minority Mindset to motivate, teach, and inspire others to do what they want. While going to school and starting my businesses, I realized school is really good at teaching you to be an employee, but it doesn’t teach you to create value & it doesn’t teach you anything about financial literacy. That’s why we’re here. And, no, we are not trying to sell you one of those “bootcamps” or “masterclasses” on how to get rich.
A community of hustlers and entrepreneurs; we are on a mission to motivate, teach, and inspire entrepreneurs and hustlers to be the best they can be, because average sucks. Only a minority of people will risk it all to make their dreams a reality - will you? #ThinkMinority

The Mindset Of
Oprah Winfrey - How Oprah Winfrey Became A
Billionaire | Minority Mindset - Jaspreet Singh
What’s up everybody, my name is Jaspreet Singh & welcome to the Minority Mindset. You might remember Oprah Winfrey from her
TV show, or maybe you know
Oprah as an inspiration, or maybe you have heard of Oprah Winfrey from the
O magazine. Oprah Winfrey is a prime example of how you can live life the way you want, if you change your mindset. So today we are going to analyze the mindset of Oprah and how she built up a networth of 3 billion dollars.
Oprah Winfrey was raised by her grandma in poverty because her single teenage mom couldn’t take care of her. She used to wear dressed made of potato sacks because her grandma couldn’t afford clothes, which made her an easy target for bullies in school.
Later, she moved back in with her mom and her mom’s new daughter, but it wasn’t easy. When she was 9, she was molested by her cousin uncle and a family friend with no one supporting her so she ran away from home when she was 13. When she was 14 she became pregnant and gave birth to a boy prematurely who died shortly after being born.
After all this, she went to live with her biological dad who pushed her to go to high school. She became an honors student and was voted most popular girl in school. She joined the speech team at her school and this earned her a full ride scholarship to
Tennessee State University.
Oprah Winfrey worked part time at the local grocery store and then at the local black radio station because of her speaking skills. She really enjoyed speaking so she decided to follow her dreams in school and studied media instead trying to get a regular degree.
Eventually Oprah Winfrey found her way to a low-rated
Chicago morning show. After just a few months on the show, AM Chicago became one of the highest-rated talk shows in Chicago and was renamed to the
Oprah Winfrey Show.
Now instead of enjoying her new found success and money. She decided it was time to work harder. She started a business called
Harpo Productions (which is just Oprah Backwords). She and her company negotiated a deal to buy the rights to the Oprah Winfrey Show. During her peak,
The Oprah Winfrey Show was making Oprah
300 million a year.
When Oprah Winfrey saw the success she was having, she wanted to recreate it so her company Harpo Productions produced the spinoffs
Dr. Phil and
Rachel Ray.
But Oprah Winfrey didn’t stop there, she publishes her own magazine,
The Oprah Magazine which has about
2.4 million paying subscribers, she has a radio channel –
Oprah Radio, she has launched a cable channel called the
Oprah Winfrey Network, and she co-founded
Oxygen a women’s cable television network.
So what does Oprah Winfrey do with the money she makes? She lives a life that most people can’t imagine is possible, especially coming form the same circumstances as Oprah Winfrey, she flies in her private $42 million dollar plane. She owns a $52 million dollar estate in
California, she owns 63 acres of land in
Maui, a shore home in
New Jersey, a ski villa in
Colorado, a mansion in
Georgia, a 15,
000 squarefoot duplex in Chicago, and if that wasn’t enough she has a beach front vacation home in Antigua.
But she didn’t forget where she came from, she has donated millions and millions of dollars to many different charities. And she has started many of her own charities to help underserved women.
So what can we learn from Oprah Winfrey? If you believe it, you can achieve it but you have to be willing to work. And find a reason to succeed that is bigger than yourself because that will push you forward.
