(There is no dialogue in this video) This is the bell in Parliament's Clock Tower (Big Ben). The bell at the centre of this film is called Big Ben. There are two possible explanations for the bell's name:
- It could have been named after Sir Benjamin Hall, the First Commissioner of Works, who was a tall man and known in the House of Commons as Big Ben.
- It may have been named after a champion heavyweight boxer of the time called Ben Caunt. He fought his last fight in 1857 when it was being decided what to call the bell.

But it turns out the ancient clockwork - a charming example of Victorian engineering - is a bit temperamental, and problems with accuracy (last summer it was a whole six seconds out of whack) have prompted calls to shut down and rebuild the clock, a process that could take years. Big Ben is the nickname for the great bell of the clock at the north end of the Palace of Westminster in London, and is generally extended to refer to the clock or the clock tower (officially known simply as Clock Tower) as well. The clock tower holds the largest four-faced chiming clock in the world and is the third-tallest free-standing clock tower. It celebrated its 150th anniversary on 31 May 2009, during which celebratory events took place. The tower was completed in 1858 and has become one of the most prominent symbols of both London and England, often in the establishing shot of films set in the city.
The present Clock Tower – metonymically referred to as Big Ben, and historically confused with St Stephen's Tower – was raised as a part of Charles Barry's design for a new palace, after the old Palace of Westminster was largely destroyed by fire on the night of 16 October 1834. The new Parliament was built in a Neo-gothic style. Although Barry was the chief architect of the Palace, he turned to Augustus Pugin for the design of the Clock Tower, which resembles earlier Pugin designs, including one for Scarisbrick Hall. The design for the Clock Tower was Pugin's last design before his final descent into madness and death, and Pugin himself wrote, at the time of Barry's last visit to him to collect the drawings: "I never worked so hard in my life for Mr Barry for tomorrow I render all the designs for finishing his bell tower & it is beautiful." The tower is designed in Pugin's celebrated Gothic Revival style, and is 316 feet (96.3 m) high (roughly 16 storeys).

Jay Chou; (born 18 January 1979) is a Taiwanese musician, singer-songwriter, music and film producer, actor and director. In 1998 he was discovered in a talent contest where he displayed his piano and song-writing skills. Over the next two years, he was hired to compose for popular Mandarin singers. Although he was trained in classical music, Chou combines Chinese and Western music styles to produce songs that fuse R&B, rock and pop genres. He composes all his own songs, as well as songs for other singers.
In 2000, Chou released his first album, titled Jay, under the record company Alfa Music. Since then he has released one album per year except in 2009, selling several million copies each. His music has gained recognition throughout Asia, most notably in regions such as Taiwan, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Malaysia, Indonesia, India, Singapore, Thailand, Vietnam and in overseas Asian communities. He has sold more than 28 million albums worldwide up to 2010. He debuted his acting career in Initial D (2005), for which he won Best Newcomer Actor in both the Hong Kong Film Awards and the Golden Horse Awards, and was nominated for Best Supporting Actor by Hong Kong Film Awards for his role in Curse of the Golden Flower (2006). He produced the theme song for the film Ocean Heaven starring Jet Li. His career now extends into directing and running his own record company JVR Music.

Benjamin Todd "Ben" Roethlisberger (pronounced /ˈrɒθlɨsbɜrɡər/; born March 2, 1982), nicknamed Big Ben, is an American football quarterback for the Pittsburgh Steelers of the National Football League. He was drafted by the Steelers in the first round (11th overall) in the 2004 NFL Draft. He played college football at Miami University.
Roethlisberger earned the AP NFL Offensive Rookie of the Year Award in 2004 and his first Pro Bowl selection in 2007. He became the youngest Super Bowl-winning quarterback in NFL history, helping lead the Steelers, in his second professional season, to a 21–10 victory over the Seattle Seahawks in Super Bowl XL at the age of 23. Roethlisberger led the Steelers to a second Super Bowl title in four seasons as they defeated the Arizona Cardinals in Super Bowl XLIII, 27–23, after completing a game-winning touchdown pass to Santonio Holmes in the final 35 seconds.
Roethlisberger has been one of the most efficient passers in NFL history. He currently ranks 10th all-time in NFL passer rating (92.9), 5th in yards per attempt (8.06), and 11th in completion percentage (63.24%) among quarterbacks with a minimum of 1,500 career attempts. He has the fourth highest career winning percentage (.710) as a starter in the regular season among quarterbacks with a minimum of 100 starts.

(There is no dialogue in this video) This is the bell in Parliament's Clock Tower (Big Ben). The bell at the centre of this film is called Big Ben. There are two possible explanations for the bell's name: - It could have been named after Sir Benjamin Hall, the First Commissioner of Works, who was a tall man and known in the House of Commons as Big Ben. - It may have been named after a champion heavyweight boxer of the time called Ben Caunt. London's Big Ben has been chiming out the hours for 156 years. But it turns out the ancient clockwork - a charming example of Victorian engineering - is a bit temperamental, and problems with accuracy (last summer it was a whole six seconds out of whack) have prompted calls to shut down and rebuild the clock, a process that could take years. The clock started ticking on 31 May 1859 - and the bell was struck for the first time six weeks later. 150 years on, Big Ben is the iconic symbol of London, and one of the world's best-known landmarks. Part of the Palace of Westminster, which houses the British parliament, Big Ben is a little less than most people imagine. The name is commonly used to describe the clock tower, including the clock face and the bell. The clock started ticking on 31 May 1859 - and the bell was struck for the first time six weeks later.
150 years on, Big Ben is the iconic symbol of London, and one of the world's best-known landmarks.
Part of the Palace of Westminster, which houses the British parliament, Big Ben is a little less than most people imagine.
The name is commonly used to describe the clock tower, including the clock face and the bell.
But, technically, Big Ben refers just to the biggest of the bells inside the tower - the Great Bell - which weighs more than thirteen tons.
How Big Ben became known by this name is open to question.
Ian Westworth, who maintains Big Ben and the other clocks in the Palace of Westminster, says there are two theories.
One is that it was named after a very large bare-knuckle fighter.
The other is that it was named after an equally-large Palace official.
Millions (m) of tourists have travelled to London to witness the distinctive chimes of Big Ben.
Millions more have heard the bell on the BBC World Service, where for decades it was broadcast each hour.
Westworth said there was a good reason why Big Ben made such a distinctive sound.
"It has a crack in two places which gives it a slightly off pitch," he said.
And that seems to be the secret of Big Ben's enduring popularity across the world.

Der Big Ben – eine der berühmtesten Sehenswürdigkeiten der Welt. Der Big Ben Uhrenturm steht an der nordöstlichen Ecke des Palace of Westminster in London und wurde von 1843 bis 1859 nach einem Feuer errichtet, das den ursprünglichen Palast zerstört hatte. Der Uhrenturm ist in einem klassischen Design gehalten und lässt deutlich einen gothischen Einfluss erkennen. Das Uhrwerk selbst wurde von Edward John Dent kurz nach Beginn des Turmbaus entworfen. Diese LEGO Achitecture Interpretation des Big Ben Uhrenturms wurde von dem slowenischen Architekten Rok Žgalin Kobe in Zusammenarbeit mit dem LEGO Designteam entworfen.

The capsules have been made out of glass and allow the passenger to have a great 360 degree view over the city.

In the heart of the city, on the South Bank of the Thames, between Hungerford Bridge and Westminster Bridge, this is one of the major landmarks which attract tourists.
It is also the tallest Ferris wheel in the whole of Europe and the most paid tourist site in the UK. This enormous wheel has 32 air-conditioned and sealed ovoidal passenger capsules making this whole magnificent experience a comfortable one. The capsules have been made out of glass and allow the passenger to have a great 360 degree view over the city.

Small Text Guide to Edit Landscapes in Lightroom: (the video shows everything with way more details: ► https://youtu.be/4pC7V-qGvhQ):
Text Guide (only 2 of 13 points mentioned)
I have been photographing for over 3 years now and because I started shooting RAW very early I needed a program to edit them, I looked into a lot of raw converters and at the end decided to go with Lightroom because it seemed like a very versatile, affordable and user friendly program.
Now I've been using Lightroom for almost 3 years have never felt the need to change to another software. I have edited hundreds and hundreds of images, my techniques and pictures continually developed and I was getting happier and happier with the result I was getting. Many People asked my how I edited this landscape, how did I do that etc.. So I figured I'd just make a guide and put it on YouTube and post a text / stills version here. I am sure I have still a lot to learn and there are many different ways and styles and ways to edit landscapes but here I'm just showing you my way, my workflow on how I edit most of my landscapes, keep in mind that what I'm going to show here is a very rough version of my workflow, it would be impossible to to list all detailed adjustments and how I mix different settings together for 1 setting, many thought only 1 slider was for etc.. But still, if you like my style of editing I do to my images this might give you some inspiration, ideas or help you out for your editing :)
here the 2 basic steps:
(1.) Basic retouching:
1- Bringing down the Highlights, usually quite far, sometimes up to -100
2- Bring up the shadows, usually +100, sometimes a bit less however
3- Bring up the whites until they almost clip (hold down the ALT key while moving the slider to see when they clip
4- Bring down the blacks, I always clip the blacks a bit, I'm not too worried if I lose some detail there (hold down the alt key to see when the blacks clip
5- Play around with contrast, usually I add a bit of contrast, +10 or 20, sometimes more, sometimes i go -20 or even more, just play around with it
6- I usually take back the clarity a bit because the editing above adds a lot of contrast and clarity, this helps to give back some of the softness
7- Playing around with the Vibrance / Saturation, I prefer the vibrance tool because it adds color more subtle
8- Adjust the global exposure if needed
9- Play around with the white balance and chose whatever you like best
10- Play around with the Tint, I add magenta to most of my images, especially sunsets, I very rarely add any green tint there
Alright, that is pretty much it! keep in mind that this is a very very basic guide and should mostly give you ideas and explain some of the lightroom features, at the end everyone has a different style, take this as an ''idea'' and less as a ''this is how i'll edit my pictures from now on''

So Hello from London! Time for a new destination. This is a city that I haven't visited in almost 4 years and it is actually Sam's very first time here. So we're both very excited to be in London. And we're going to be making a little video guide. Actually a really big video guide because we plan on showing you 50 different things to do around London. So let's get started.
Our first stop was Trafalgar Square. This square leads to a lot of central attractions, so it's a nice place to people watch, get your bearings, and plan out where you want to go in the city.
The London Eye is a giant Ferris wheel on the South Bank of the Thames. It offers a bird's eye view of the city - just make sure you don't go on a foggy day.
Buckingham Palace has served as the official London residence for Britain's sovereigns since 1837. The State Rooms at Buckingham Palace are open to visitors every year, however, that's something that you need to plan months in advance.
The Palace of Westminster, also known as the Houses of Parliament, is the meeting place of the House of Commons and the House of Lords. The Palace along with Big Ben are two of the top London attractions that dot the city-scape.
The Tower of London sits on the north bank of the River Thames. Though this castle served many purposes, it's mainly remembered for its use as a prison in the 16th and 17th centuries.
And that's a wrap for London! Like with any mega city, it's impossible to cover all the sights and attractions you can enjoy here, but hopefully this video will give you an idea of what London has to offer. JiTT works offline, so it won’t cost you the earth in expensive roaming rates. The app generates your tour based on your location and the time you have available. It accounts for the time of day, opening times, and whether you want to complete your tour at your starting point or elsewhere. Actors tell the stories behind London’s history, and the quirky tales that give the city its character and charm. It’s as though an old friend is guiding you around the city.
JiTT doesn’t just tell a city’s stories through time, but takes into consideration your own available time. Whether you’re on a business trip with minimal free time to take in the historical sights, or on a short city break and want to make the most of your trip, JiTT will create a route to match your available time, and interests. If you’ve already seen one of the sights, simply delete it from the route; or if you want to see a particular monument, add it in. The app will recalculate your route and show you the sights of London!

The City Of London contains the Tower, an historic landmark with a remarkable history. A mighty medieval fortress with 13 towers that throughout its 900 years, has served many functions and from the Middle Ages, it was a heavily fortified prison.
After the medieval St. Paul's Cathedral was destroyed by a devastating fire in 1666, Christopher Wren was ordered to re-build it with a dome. During the 36 years of its construction, its design was frequently altered until finally a wonderful masterpiece of church architecture was created.
The Monument is the city's tallest freestanding stone column and a reminder of the Great Fire of London that destroyed 80 percent of the city. In four days, more than 13,000 buildings were destroyed and the Monument was built on the site of the bakery in which the fire began.
Since the reign of Queen Victoria, Buckingham Palace has served as London's royal residence. A garden of mulberry trees once grew on the site of today's palace and the Duke of Buckingham subsequently added a simple brick built residence. Around 60 years later, George II purchased the site for his wife and George IV eventually began to design an extensive palace complex.
The highlight of any holiday in London must be the largest Ferris wheel in the world, the London Eye. Situated on the banks of the Thames, it rises high into the sky, opposite the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben.
The former centre of the largest empire in the world, London is still a city of superlatives that attracts millions of visitors each year. Exciting both day and night, London is a modern city with age old traditions and a long and colorful history.

Our day started at Big Ben as we walked the Rick Steves self guided walk from his pocket guide which was very useful! We waited for Big Ben to strike 12 at noon and then headed to Westminster Abbey. Took the "Tube" over to see the Tower Bridge and then finished the night with the Les Miserables show which was a great show!

Around 60 years later, George II purchased the site for his wife and George IV eventually began to design an extensive palace complex.
The highlight of any holiday in London must be the largest Ferris wheel in the world, the London Eye. Situated on the banks of the Thames, it rises high into the sky, opposite the Houses of Parliament and Big Ben.

Taking advantage of the long Easter weekend , Daniele and I organized a quick trip to London, together with Alessia (Daniele's sister) and her fiancé who never got the occasion to visit the city before. On our first day we strolled around the Borough Market, we walked along the Southbank to the Big Ben and enjoyed a lovely dinner with friends. Enjoy!
