Pocahontas (born Matoaka, known as Amonute, and later known as Rebecca Rolfe, c. 1595 – March 1617) was a Virginia Indian notable for her association with the colonial settlement at Jamestown, Virginia. Pocahontas was the daughter of Powhatan, the paramount chief of a network of tributary tribal nations in the Tsenacommacah, encompassing the Tidewater region of Virginia. In a well-known historical anecdote, she is said to have saved the life of an Indian captive, Englishman John Smith, in 1607 by placing her head upon his own when her father raised his war club to execute him. Some historians have suggested that this story, as told by Smith, is untrue.
Pocahontas was captured by the English during Anglo-Indian hostilities in 1613, and held for ransom. During her captivity, she converted to Christianity and took the name Rebecca. When the opportunity arose for her to return to her people, she chose to remain with the English. In April 1614, she married tobacco planter John Rolfe, and in January 1615, bore their son, Thomas Rolfe.
Legends of the Hidden Temple is an American action-adventuregame show for children that aired from 1993 to 1995 in its first-run and through 1998 in reruns. Created by David G. Stanley, Scott A. Stone and Stephen Brown, the program centered on a temple that was "filled with lost treasures protected by mysterious Mayan temple guards". Kirk Fogg hosted the program and served as the teams' guide, while Dee Bradley Baker announced and voiced a talking Olmec Head who "knows the secrets behind each of the treasures in his temple". Six teams of two children (one boy and one girl) competed to retrieve one of the historical artifacts in the temple by performing physical stunts and answering questions based on history, mythology, and geography.
Legends of the Hidden Temple was produced by Stone Stanley Productions in association with Nickelodeon and was taped at Nickelodeon Studios at Universal Studios in Orlando, Florida. It aired on Nickelodeon from September 11, 1993 to 1995 in its first-run and through August 23, 1998 in reruns. Later, episodes of the program aired on Nick GAS from 1999 to 2007, and occasionally on TeenNick. In 1995, Legends of the Hidden Temple won a CableACE award for Best Game Show Special or Series.

Pocahontas is a 1995 American animated epic musical romantic-drama film produced by Walt Disney Feature Animation and released by Walt Disney Pictures. The 33rd film in the Walt Disney Animated Classics series, the film is part of the era known as the Disney Renaissance which lasted from 1989 to 1999.
Directed by Mike Gabriel and Eric Goldberg, the film is inspired by the known history and folklore surrounding the Native American woman Pocahontas, and portrays a fictionalized account of her historical encounter with Englishman John Smith and the Jamestown settlers that arrived from the Virginia Company. The voice cast features Irene Bedard, Mel Gibson, David Ogden Stiers, Russell Means, Christian Bale, Billy Connolly, and Linda Hunt. The musical score was written by Alan Menken, with songs written by Menken and lyricist Stephen Schwartz.
Pocahontas was released on June 23, 1995 to a mixed reaction from critics, who praised the film for its animation and music, but criticized the film's story and historical inaccuracy. Nevertheless, the film was a commercial success, grossing $346 million at the worldwide box office. Pocahontas received two Academy Awards for its achievement in music: Best Original Score for Menken's score and Best Original Song for "Colors of the Wind". A video game based on the film was released across various platforms shortly after the film's theatrical release, and the film itself was followed by a direct-to-video sequel entitled Pocahontas II: Journey to a New World in 1998.

This is the second time I'm doing a Hidden Temple crossover with the Disney version of Pocahontas (Wanna see the first one?: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ypO8nQhUDrs ) I've noticed something very similar between the story of Pocahontas (at least the Disney version) and the story of Henry Hudson (at least the Hidden Temple version). Here are the following similarities: -They feature an leading English Man (John Rattcliffe and Henry Hudson) who want to see the new world (North America) and are kinda lazy and let the other men do all the work. -There's a character named John accompaning the leader (John Smith and John Hudson) -They went to explore the New World in 1600s (Pocahontas was in 1607 and Henry Hudson was in 1609) -There's a compass involved. There are a lot of things in Americ...

PRINTS NOW AVAILABLE! http://www.cafepress.com/maludwigworks #Project requested by: ItsAngleAnthonyBetch & ArsinoeofEgypt Famed daughter of Chief Powhatan and the first to enter into an interracial marriage in American History, Pocahontas (born Matoaka) lived only 22 years from 1595 to March 1617. She was captured and held for ransom by the English in 1613, during which time she converted to Chritianity and adopted the name "Rebecca". A year later she married tobacco planter John Rolfe, bearing him a son by the name of Thomas Rolfe in January of 1615. John took Pocahontas to London, presenting her as a "civilized savage" to the English in the hopes that they would invest in American settlements. On the journey home, however, Pocahontas quickly fell ill and died. Her grave is in the area ...
Captain Smith is spared his mutinous hanging sentence after captain Newport's ship arrives in 1607 to found Jamestown, an English colony in Virginia. The initially friendly natives, who have no personal property concept, turn hostile after a 'theft' is 'punished' violently on the spot. During an armed exploration, Smith is captured, but spared when the chief's favorite daughter Pocahontas pleads for the stranger who soon becomes her lover and learns to love their naive 'savage' way of harmonious life. Ultimately he returns to the grim fort, which would starve hadn't she arranged for Indian generosity. Alas, each side soon brands their own lover a traitor, so she is banished and he flogged as introduction to slavish toiling. Changes turn again, leading Smiyth to accept a northern-more missi...

Knowing the fact that there's going to be a movie based on Legends of the Hidden Temple, I thought about doing something related. Do more crossovers with Olmec's story of the legend behind the artifacts. It's been about 3 years since I've done one and it's been 6 months since a user requested. When I saw this episode, I immediately wanted to use one of my childhood Disney movies (did you know that the LOTHT episode came out one year before the Disney movie?). Unfortunately, in order for the scenario to fit more, I had to use clips from the abysmal sequel to the movie as well. I hope you can bare it because that's what Olmec said in his story. Did you know that when this episode of the Hidden Temple was made, it was 1 year and 3 days before the release of the Pocahontas Disney movie?

I am now ready to make that recording. I have the songs, wonderful and original arrangements, an amazing band... All I need is the funding. And your help. http://judykuhn.net/kickstarter
