Stephen Glenn "Steve" Martin (born August 14, 1945) is an American honorary Academy Award winning actor, comedian, musician, author, playwright and producer.
Martin came to public notice as a writer for the Smothers Brothers Comedy Hour, and later became a frequent guest on The Tonight Show. In the 1970s, Martin performed his offbeat, absurdist comedy routines before packed houses on national tours. In 2004, Comedy Central ranked Martin at sixth place in a list of the 100 greatest stand-up comics.
Since the 1980s, having branched away from stand-up comedy, Martin has become a successful actor, as well as an author, playwright, pianist and banjo player, eventually earning Emmy, Grammy and American Comedy awards, among other honors.
Martin was awarded an honorary Oscar at the Academy's 5th Annual Governors Awards in November 2013.

The Aston Martin V8 is a two-door coupé automobile manufactured in the United Kingdom from 1969 to 1989. As with all traditional Aston Martins, it was entirely handbuilt -- with each car requiring 1,200 manhours to finish.
Aston Martin's customers had been clamouring for an eight-cylinder car for years, so Aston Martin designed a larger two-door saloon for V8 applications. The engine was not ready, however, so in 1967 the company released the DBS with the straight-six Vantage engine from the DB6. Two years later, Tadek Marek's V8 was ready, and Aston released the DBS V8. With the demise of the straight-six Vantage in 1973, the DBS V8, now restyled and called simply the Aston Martin V8, became the company's mainstream car for nearly two decades. It was retired in favour of the Virage in 1989.

"Paid Killer" was released in 1978 on Moon Martin's debut album, Shots From A Cold Nightmare. I bought the record after hearing a couple of cuts playing in my favorite record store of the day and after one spin I became a huge fan. Moon Martin's music is very unique....stylish, cool and moody. His voice is a perfect match for the style, his unique vocals made him one of my favorite singers during the period. Most of his lyrics and imagery seem the aural match of the film noir classics of the '40s and '50s.
I remain a huge fan of his first 4 albums and hopefully I'll get some more of my planned vid efforts finished for more of my favorite tracks from these records.
Early one morning many months ago I had started 3 video efforts for my favorite tracks off of Shots From A Cold Nightmare ("Paid Killer", "Nite Thoughts", and "Victim Of Romance"), "Victim Of Romance" was first one finished but this will be the first one uploaded. It's nothing special....just some pics of Eliza Dushku pics and a couple of images from the Hitman video game series...but hey, what else do you need besides Eliza Dushku? ;-)

Martin is a 1978 American horror film written and directed by George A. Romero.
Romero claims that Martin is the favorite of all his films. The film is also notable as the first collaboration between George Romero and special effects artist Tom Savini.
Martin (John Amplas) sedates women with a syringe full of narcotics and then slices their wrists with a razor blade so he can drink their blood. Martin, who comes to live with his granduncle and cousin in the dying town of Braddock, Pennsylvania, has romantic monochrome visions of vampiric seductions and torch-lit mobs, but it is impossible to tell how seriously he takes them. In addition to the vampiric themes, the film shows the stagflation of the 1970s in the form of the struggling residents of Braddock.
Martin's granduncle, the superstitious old Tada Cuda, has reluctantly agreed to give Martin room and board as he is the closest living relative, as well as his nephew. Cuda is very much a Lithuanian Catholic who treats Martin like an Old World vampire and tries unsuccessfully to repel Martin with strings of garlic bulbs around the home and a crucifix. Martin mocks these attempts and says bitterly, "There's no real magic... ever." When Cuda warns Martin that if he murders anyone in Braddock that he will be killed, Martin sneaks out at night into inner city Pittsburgh and instead begins targeting crooks and drug dealers and draining their blood, although he still focuses on seducing women. Martin seeks advice on women from a radio DJ, who calls him "The Count" and eggs Martin on to try and seduce girls when the DJ realizes his listeners consider Martin a hit. When being put to work in a grocery store owned by Cuda, Martin strikes up a friendship with a lonely housewife, turning into a full-fledged affair with tragic results.

Plot: Martin takes away Magdalena, his girlfriend, from her home to live with him. There, Magdalena will take care of Martin's father, who's in bed very sick. But Magdalena's relatives are very upset with Martin. Cristino, her brother, looks for revenge in the bar, but Martin defeats him in front of the governor of the town. Martin's brother, on the contrary, is a good man with a prosper corn business, and soon he will marry with his girlfriend. But one night occurs a tragedy. Martin's father dies in a fire while he was sleeping, and he's blaming Magdalena about the accident. Martin leaves Magdalena, after seriously beating her up. Martin's brother fiancée tries to convince him about coming back with Magdalena, but he says that never loves the girl, and she's the one that he loves instead. The day of Martin's brother weeding has come and there will be Martin, demanding to his fiancée to come with him by the force.

Since the 1980s, having branched away from stand-up comedy, Martin has become a successful actor, as well as an author, playwright, pianist and banjo player, eventually earning Emmy, Grammy and American Comedy awards, among other honors.
Martin was awarded an honorary Oscar at the Academy's 5th Annual Governors Awards in November 2013.

I bought the record after hearing a couple of cuts playing in my favorite record store of the day and after one spin I became a huge fan. Moon Martin's music is very unique....stylish, cool and moody. His voice is a perfect match for the style, his unique vocals made him one of my favorite singers during the period. Martin Campbell first became known on these shores (U.K.) when Jah Shaka would regularly deploy his roots classic 'Who Can We Run To' in the late '80s.
Historical tracks 1978-81 proves that Martin had actually been producing for ten years prior to UK fame, appearing as a sort of bedroom maverick, playing all the instruments himself and recording drums in his mum's garage, although some vocals were pro recorded at King Tubby's, such as 'Love Has Gone' and the final cut 'War and Plunder' is set to a previously unreleased Aggrovators riddim 'Death In The Arena' recorded by Bunny Lee.
We're struggling to think of any precedents for this lo-fi aesthetic because pretty much all the reggae we can think of was recorded in a proper studio setup, lending this album a fairly unique status in the Jamaican canon.
The recordings have been subject to a fine restoration job by Gadd 59's Phillip Gadd, allowing for a fascinating (and clearer) look at an authentic reggae anomaly. Copies are limited to 500 for the world.

WHY DID MARTIN RELAPSE? If conditions within the home do not change, then how can we expect that we will win the fight against the Jigger? Yes, without change, the Jigger will return and they will bring the victim back to his former state and - and, actually, even WORSE THAN BEFORE! Ten per-cent of the victims we have treated have reported a relapse; and, we had to return and help them again.
QUALITY OF CARE GIVING is the most contributing factor. When a parent/guardian is not present or able, then the living conditions don't change and the Jiggers set in again. Parents living with disability, orphaned and vulnerable children and the aged are the most at risk of becoming reinfected. Tragically, for Martin and his siblings, their mother had a stroke 1 1/2 years ago. She had been the bread winner as her husband was mentally ill. Now that she is unable to function fully, the home has nothing and everyone has Jiggers except for her. She would have them too, but she must take extra care somehow. She told us that no one digs them out but that they just don't bite her!
SQUARE ZERO: What do we do when things get back to square zero? Our philosophy at Rise Up is to go an extra mile and step in when things get bad again. We keep track of those we help and we go back when we get reports that they again need assistance.
Even though we work in a very vast area, and with limited resources, we depend upon help with prayers and donations to keep going forward. Are eyes are focused ahead on the goal but we keep an eye on the side mirror to see what's happening in the back!
We're still young and struggling, but we are determined to win this battle. As we grow from strength to strength, we shall devise the means to better help manage things. It is challenging, but nothing is impossible!
Before us stands the need for a jigger hospital. We need $50,000 to build it and people are putting in donations already. I wish to so deeply THANK THEM! Every extra $ you put in pays for that subscriber who is unable to do it. I know when this facility is operational (I'm hoping it takes as little as 6 months), that things will change. ZANZARIN: We've heard that a product called Zanzarin may work for us as a Jigger Repellent. It is not available in the U.S.A. but it may be found in South America. If you have access to this repellent, would you please contact me at jim@killthejigger.org so I can assist you in supplying some for us? If it is safe and effective, we would like to be able to use it.
As the documentary on Martin shows, we have a fight on our hands! It is NOT enough to simply remove the Jiggers. They will return if the living conditions are not improved. And when they come back - they return with a vengeance - often worse than before.
I've said before that Good Care Giving is essential and Martin's story evidences this. Sadly, Martin's mother had a stroke and his father is mentally disabled. With the care givers unable to function, the home went into disarray leaving the children open to re-infestation. Jiggers are equal opportunists and will take advantage of any poor condition!
THE EXCITING NEWS: Rise Up has plans to build a Jigger Hospital and Clinic that incorporates a Research Center and we would like to have this done within six months. Our financial goal is $50K and we have already been given $3K of the needed money. Please spread the word about this with everyone you know and by every means in your communication arsenal. It is such exciting news!
