To Harold Klemp and Eckankar, some suggestions
I daily deal with young folks at my workplace. When I started, I had difficulty accepting that I had to sell tobacco and alcohol when I claim to be a servant of
GOD.
Those Kids mostly are in their twenties. Most of them don’t really care about astral projection, soul traveling. Some of them are religious because they grew up in a religious background but most of them have the same habits: Friday night, they all want to go the beach and get drunk and high. Now, Mr. Klemp don’t tell me that this is not the market you targeting because it is the market you are supposed to target:
Religion is food for the
Soul. And Eckankar also brings the word of GOD. So what are you going to do?
How do you bring the message of Eck to the younger generation? You have to change your presentation just like
Joel Osteen and
Joyce Meyer do when they preach. When they speak, you want to listen to what they have to say no matter your color or cultural background. I found out about Joel Osteen when I went back to
Haiti in 2004 to visit my mom.
Stop emphasizing on the principles and create a foundation of trust by giving free simple spiritual lessons.
Become the bringer of hope and light to a better life. Not only a spiritual life. You need to inspire them to have a healthier emotional and social life. They are all craving for this new light, this new way of seeing life. I am sorry but the old YouTube videos of you Mr. Klemp, of
Paul Twitchell or of
Darwin Gross are not it.
You guys were the bomb from
1970 to
1990 because Eckankar was a novelty and different. This religion offers the follower a freedom of thinking and of expression that you cannot find anywhere else. Which is why Eckankar thrives in
Africa and
South Asia. You will find plenty of videos from over there.
Here in America: none… I can’t talk bad of Eckankar because the religion was good for me at one
point of my life.
But you need to give the young generation some proof of Eck gathering. You need to touch base, and meet them somehow on equal ground.
Don’t just be on
Social Media.
Actually use it.
Give video proof of youth having fun in Eck Activities.
