Slovenian Wine - Rebula (Ribolla Gialla) from Vipava Valley
Exotic Wine Travel visits Vipava Valley, Slovenia. We were invited to "Vipavska Rebula Cesarjev Ižbor 1503" (Vipava Rebula: The Emperor’s Choice Since 1503), the first international showcase of Rebula wine from the Vipava Valley. HARVESTING WINE IN SLOVENIA
We started out the vlog by traveling through Austria from Linz to Graz where we had Dinner before traveling through Slovenia to Prekmurje where we visited a vineyard for a wine harvest and a tasting of fantastic slovenian food and slovenian wine or slovenačko vino and slovenačko hrana. It was fantastic to watch the winemaking process and how the grape harvest is traditionally done. The Wine grapes we harvested in Prekmurje was a Chardonnay.

Travel across beautiful Slovenia with JetsettingFools, SavorTheExperience Tours and Find Eat Local as we taste the flavors and meet the people behind the vines of 3 unique wineries all in 1 epic day!
Read more at http://buff.ly/2ekvwpF
Slovenia is not a big country, but it certainly has diverse landscapes: mountains, lakes, cities, coastline, caves and hundreds of vineyards. The country’s small size coupled with ample wineries inspired a journey; a cross-country wine tasting adventure.
Starting in the ‘chicken head’ and moving to the ‘tail feathers,’ we sipped, savored and taste-tested our way across the country, indulging at three wineries in distinctly different regions. We traveled from Hisa Vina Cuk on the Lendava Hills in the Prekmurje region to the contemporary Hisa Vina Doppler on the sloping hills of the Styria region all the way to the western border to Hisa Vin Rondic in the small, wine-producing town of Slap in the Vipava Valley. During the day filled with flowing wine, we feasted on regional delicacies, each winery presenting us with unique specialties.
We joined together with Savor the Experience Tours and JetSetting Fools on an epic one-day, three-winery expedition on a trail that we dubbed the Slovenian Wine Highway, or SLO Wine Highway for short. Travel across beautiful Slovenia with us as we taste the flavors and meet the people behind the vines!

It was fantastic to watch the winemaking process and how the grape harvest is traditionally done. The Wine grapes we harvested in Prekmurje was a Chardonnay.

The First Rule of Law Report: a new start for the promotion of EU values
Commissioner for Justice Didier REYNDERS presented the first-ever annual Rule of Law report on 7 October 2020 at the College of Europe in Bruges. This report maps out the Rule of Law situation in all the Member States. The analysis is based on four factors: the justice systems, the media freedom, the check and balances, and the fight against corruption. This exercise falls under the Commission’s Rule of Law Mechanism. It aims to create a European/national debate about our institutions and our rights as citizens.

The Western Balkans on their path to the EU. Panel 1: Rule of law and captured states
The debate on the EU integration of the Western Balkans centers around the assessments of potential risks that would follow the memberships. On the one hand, offering membership to countries with unstable economies, weak democratic institutions, minority issues and unresolved bilateral issues pose several risks to the stability within Europe. On the other hand, there is fear that the EU’s fading commitment and passivity could lead to continued efforts of other global powers’, such as China and Russia, to intensify their presence in these areas, thereby undermining the EU’s security and defense. There are more aspects to the enlargement debate, but the central question remains: which considerations should prevail, when the EU has to reach an agreement on not only the future of the Union but...

#OnTheAgenda 11 – Rule of Law: at what cost?
As everyone was waiting for the new long-term EU budget (MFF) and COVID-19 rescue plan to be approved before Christmas, Poland and Hungary have vetoed the approval of these 2 financial instruments, which together are worth approx. 1.8 trillion EUR. The two Member States oppose the EU’s plan to tie funding to the respect of the Rule of Law. Hungary has also received indirect support from Slovenia, whose Prime Minister is a close ally to Viktor Orban.
With vital payments pending on this approval, how can the EU solve this crisis?

SUMMARY
=======
A Member of the European Parliament (MEP) is a person who has been elected to serve as a popular representative in the European Parliament.When the European Parliament (then known as the Common Assembly of the ECSC) first met in 1952, its members were directly appointed by the governments of member states from among those already sitting in their own national parliaments. Since 1979, however, MEPs have been elected by direct universal suffrage. Earlier European organizations that were a precursor to the European union did not have MEPs. Each member state establishes its own method for electing MEPs – and in some states this has changed over time – but the system chosen must be a form of proportional representation. Some member states elect their MEPs to represent a single national constituency; other states apportion seats to sub-national regions for election.

SUMMARY
=======

There are more aspects to the enlargement debate, but the central question remains: which considerations should prevail, when the EU has to reach an agreement on not only the future of the Union but also the future of the Western Balkans?
On 19 November 2020, The Danish Foreign Policy Society hosted an online conference entitled The Western Balkans on their path to the EU. Challenges and Opportunities for the European Integration of the Western Balkans to discuss these and other topics.
This is video 2 of 4: Panel I “Rule of law and captured states: Does the EU have what it takes?”
Florian Bieber, Centre for Southeast European Studies, University of Graz and BiEPAG coordinator moderates a conversation with Jovana Marović, Politikon network, BiEPAG, Marko Kmezić, Centre for Southeast European Studes, BiEPAG, and Tena Prelec, University of Oxford, BiEPAG.
The conference was in collaboration with BiEPAG and European Fund for the Balkans.
Note: As this is the recording of a live webinar, problems with the connection can have caused lagging in sound and image.
