If it’s not something you were expecting to watch, please watch something else. again, This is a war documentary, be advised : VIDEO CONTAINS GRAPHIC IMAGES, VIOLENCE AND POSSIBLE WAR CRIMES. ____________________________________________________________ Gire Sipi (Arabic: تل أبيض‎ Tel Abyaḍ) (wich means "White Hill in Kurdish and Arabic) is a city located along the Balikh River In August 2015, Tal Abyad was officially declared part of Kobane Canton, in a vote held by the city Council. It forms a divided city with Akçakale/Tel Abyad/Gire Sipi in Turkey and there is a border crossing. According to the Syrian General Census 2011, the population of the town was 52,490. During the war , the population of the Tell Abyad District reached 129,714, with a huge refugee influx from areas to the south, seized the the IS. The city is currently defended by YPG Forces and local defence forces organized by YPG. By 2015, Tal Abyad's population is mostly Arabs with a minority of kurds composed of nearly 30% and a small Turkmen and Armenian minority . In the start of 2013, the Syrian Arab Army and Syrian Government left Gire Sipi, following fierce clashed with the rebels. The FSA took control of the city. It was captured by the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIS) on June 30, 2014, who raised their flag at the border crossing with Turkey. The city fully was liberated by a joint YPG Forces ofensive, from both Cizire and Kobani Cantons on June 15, 2015. Jaysh al-Thuwar and Liwa Thuwwar al-Raqqa also took place in the liberation.
