Loom Knit Cast On: True Cable Cast On (easy no crochet hook) matches needle version

This is is a developed cast on to match a needle version of the cable cast on. This technique requires no extra crochet hook and was developed by Charity Windham in April 2013. I love this easy cast on with a pretty edge. I can see using this cable version as a new standard because it is tidy and easily made. (The old one was previously only found in books & has a braided cable decorative front on the right side of the knitting, it does not match the needle version at all. It is nice but not accurate to the name of cable cast on). (Update July 2013: Recently we found out Brenda Meyers has used this technique prior to our discovery in her Bunnie in the Garden dishcloth. She calls it a chain cast on since it produces a chain on the inside of the loom. This method was not published as a technique anywhere else and was not our method of obtaining the technique. Charity and I worked hard together matching loom technique results to needle knitting results for this to get the best match.
